Would you consider partnering with me through Patreon to make some dreams happen? Let's give this world something to smile about and fight for JOY! I have been building guitars for 12 years. Some of my guitars are played by professional musicians, including musicians who played with our Minnesota's Own Prince.
For this to work, I will need patron support through Patreon. The more support, the more guitars to give away and I will film it for your pleasure! I've gotta pay for parts somehow :) The first guitar featured was in process prior to developing the idea and already has a destination, however my hope is to continue building guitars and giving them away to individuals who need a boost in life. This might not be the criteria for every guitar given away, but it will be for the majority. _____________________________________________________________________

Quit messing with the tape. Just use white glue to glue your image down. It goes away when you sand the inlay level. Any excess can be easily cleaned up with a damp paper towel. I've done a considerable amount of inlay and this is almost always my go to method. Hope this helps you out.

Thanks for the advice….I guess I’ve been afraid of getting it into the pours of the wood!

@@letsbuildaguitar9230 You should still score your edges but this way your design won't slide around and no gumminess to deal with. You may find that the paper feathers obscuring your view. If so, wait for the white glue to dry then clear coat the paper with a haze of clear spray paint. This will harden the paper and reduce feathering.

try mixing it in clear resin , and you can get real fine pearl aditive for paint ,, also i use a silhoutte cutting machine for vinyl for my airbrushing templates it's realy fine and cuts a template in less than a minute

Because the edges of the easy inlay dust is so raggedy.... I was wondering if after it was set in, that maybe a person could outline the edges with a router, say a 1/16 ,and glue a strip in it . I know it would never work on this intricate pattern but i bet it might the larger ones .. what's your thought ?

Perhaps! What I did to get crisp lines. I used the easy inlay and then I used a pull crusher mortar and pestle to crush some into dust. I then vibrated the dust into the “chunks “ then added the glue! Over filled my design and then sanded even.

@@letsbuildaguitar9230 I saw that . And it significantly improved the edges. I was just thinking that route routering a slot to put a thin border in might even be better. Saving for the skill of tje person with the tool in hand .
Or even a lighter line and using sawdust..
