Honestly, the thing that bugs me is that they didn't NEED to add the god sideplot because hamilton ALREADY HAD IT. It wasnt a big part of it at all, but it's there. Eye of the hurricane is where he states how he did the work and god was not there for him and then after his son died he says he takes his other kids to church and prays amd actually comments that never happened before. He had his religious subplot, they just made it worse XD
This play just makes me appreciate hamilton so much more from this you can tell how much work was put into the original hamilton show from the bright dynamic lighting to the amazing corriography and turn table stage this just makes me want to watch hamilton again because I miss the good singing and scamilton is torturous to listen to

I genuinely believe the tech crew did not get a run at all. They are absolutely trying to come up with it on the fly. I just feel bad 😢 Edit: u say this as a church kid who had to run service with NO preparation or run through whatsoever.
Part of the reason they only sound good sometimes is because they are good when they sing within their vocal range😭 like Angelica is good during the soft songs but she can’t do the high notes in satisfied
The prayer indiference thing they could've perfectly changed. This i literally pulled out my ass in less than a minute And when my pleading for help (was) met with indiference, I picked up a pen, I wrote my own deliverance
also they went out of their way to add a line about him not having faith earlier in the show (“i don’t need god right now”), so why would they cut a line that just further highlights that lack of faith? especially when they’re clearly trying to portray it as a central character flaw that he “overcomes” as part of the plot resolution edit: just realized they also kept the verse in its quiet uptown where hamilton talks about reconnecting with god, which ALSO references a previous lack of faith (“and i pray/that never used to happen before”). so the “no doubting god” rule apparently literally only applies to hurricane. part of me thinks someone in charge of this just didn’t like it as a song so they cut it

The thing that confuses me with cutting hurricane, is they confirm Hamilton is not religious “God isn’t who I need right now” This could have explained why he was atheist and added a new meaning WITHOUT RUINING THE SHOW BUT NOOOOOOOOOOOO!
The Room where it happens has this one line „In God We Trust“. Even though it’s basically just a quote from money this line probably makes it the most religious song in the musical (except It’s quiet Uptown, where Hamilton says: „I take the children to church on sunday. A sign of a cross at the door. And I pray.“ But after that he says: „That never used to happen before”, so whatever.) So it makes basically no sense to cut it. Although in the German Version Jefferson talks about how he chose the place where they would meet, the dinner, the gin and the cigars. @@justarandomgothamite5466 “Auf uns vier legendären Jungs” is actually a awesome line. I don’t know, I just love it for some reason. A translation that I really like a lot is “Ähm, Jein” instead of “Uhm, yes”, because it brings across the same thing but just a little more obvious. Yes means yes and you really have to emphasize it a certain way to make sure everyone knows that you do not necessarily mean what you’re saying. When you say Jein you just know that the person means “yes… but actually probably not”, you know? I actually love it so much when any Madison tries not to cry in the election of 1800 instead of just being annoyed by the whole drama made around Philip’s death. Also thy made John Laurens so much more of a feminist then they already is in the American Version (which I love but it’s also completely inaccurate) A translation that literally kills me every time is “Chaos und Todschlag sind nie eine Lösung, lasst nicht ab vom rechten Weg” because the line before that ends with “hart”. You could’ve easily rhymed those two by just saying “Pfad” instead of “Weg” and yet they chose not to. Also it’s kind of funny how they made them say “Everyone give it up for America’s favourite fighting Franceman” instead of translating the line or just leaving it the way it was. (Or maybe only Gino does that, I’m not sure) Also I’m still not sure what to think about “Wir haben auf dem Feld nen ziemlichen Run” “Einwand’rer, we get the Job done”. I think if you want to keep the Run and Done rhyme just not translate that one word in between the two either. And if you want to translate the word, translate it all. I tried to find a completely German translation and thought maybe they could’ve gone with “Wir haben auf dem Feld nen ziemlichen Lauf” “Einwand’rer, wir haben’s echt drauf”. It said the same thing and you don’t have to skip between two languages every two words. But seriously, I’m really happy with the translation and in a lot of places they did excellent jobs. Like for example with “Täglich schreibt der Tod zwischen den Zeilen in mein Tagebuch” and “Vögel die viel zwitschern stopft man aus” BTW, it really deserved a longer run than what it got. I really hope it one’s back one day.
i like to think that the church did such little research on the actually show that they didnt realize that hercules and madison were played by the same guy

"Twitch Chat Reacts to Bass Boosted Hamilton"
Religon can do a lot for you, but in my experience it can't do THAT much I don't think
They actually do have fire in the original production in burn
The research they probably did they know Hamilton had a bit of fruit in his loop so they didn’t mention laurens
I got goosebumps from laughing so much
Honestly at church when they ask you to raise a hand or stand up, the thing affecting people is peer-preassure rather than god
For some reason the way you said stuff sounded like you were speed running the first act of Scamilton and the idea sounds hilarious
Burr actually carried this illegal show though
