I have one kid who is overweight and one who is a skinny mini. The skinny mini eats more food than the overweight child.

A younger child has more energy and they can run it off really easily and plus they are always growing and need food and vitamins.

Either the skinny one moves a lot more or the other one eats in secret

I eat, because i enjoy eating and there are so many different foods out there but i think for me what i need to do is to start liking the healthier stuff first because i don't dislike anything, I enjoy a wide variety of foods.
Sometimes the reason i don't eat so healthily is because its time consuming and because I work long hours sometimes i get home and don't want to do anything. I know if i can prepare my food a day in advance I'll do it - but I'm also the sort of person that if something tastes good - like, someones given me an egg custard and it was really nice I'd be tempted to say ooh I'd love one more - with me it is portion control, but like you said - exactly what you said, happens to me. Like, for example I'm at my sister's house - I'm at the table and I'll go up and get an extra sausage or chicken leg and all those things you say will happen to me - sure you want to have that. Just have one - or words to that effect - Now i am the sort of person who likes to be the center of attention but not that kind of attention and i get this feeling in my chest that I'm uncomfortable but I'm not honest by how i feel - i'll sit back down and I'll eat it but i feel the tension in the room that I've just done that.
It's too late not to be scared by some of the things my Mom has said - she told me years ago when i was in my bedroom trying on a new dress I'd bought - she came in all of a sudden an went oooh.... loudly, scared me, and i was over whelmed and she had just made me jump and said, your legs look like, tree trunks
She said to me she was coming past the bus stop at the end of the road and said the story that she thought she saw a pregnant woman at the bus stop but when the woman moved and waved at her she saw me.
A few weeks back I had three sugars in my tea - but i don't drink tea that often so i think that's fine and I was told if i don't slim down I'll be a rolley polley bride...
These to me are not mistakes i believe she is trying to hurt me or she wouldn't say any of this to me. But then, I'm told its the shock tatic that she is trying to do - but it's not working, I've told my Nan, by the time she's finished I feel depressed enough to go home and not cook a stew and I'll have a few rounds of toast that isn't going to do me any good anyway.
And when she says these things to me i feel that I can't come to her and ask for help I feel i have to hide how i feel because if i tell her how i feel she's just going to use that to hurt me anyway. People say shes a loving mother and she has my best intentions at heart but i can't cope with this - its an on going power struggle and I do want to slim down a bit but its just - its jsut not happening

I used to be fat as a kid but now im fit. My lil bro is getting really fat, it scares me, my parents arent helpful they feed him unhealthy food all the time. Its really hard not to micro manage him it makes me so nervous I dont want him to end up like how I did

same here...I do not know how to address it. Same way here it is definately the parents´fault. I know how hard it was for me to get fit and I feel like I have to solve the problem even though I am not the parent. Did you find a way?

@@Amda4436 well i semi regularly try and exercise with him everyday. Ive been trying to find ways that will make him enjoy it more like with games where i do double the amount exercise he does so he wants to do more to torture me a little bit haha. Or I’ll make him deals to give him things he wants like a little bit of candy or a new video game if he does a certain amount of exercise. Recently i bought him hyrule warriors on the switch for working up to being able to do a full sit up as part of a deal i made with him. I dont mind spending the money but damn it was like $50. Also just playing with him in ways that will make him break a sweat, like since he really likes video games we’ll play a game we’re im a boss from legend of zelda and he has to fight me. Some days though we dont do anything fun for him i just tell him we’re going to do x amount of jumping jacks, x amount of situps, x amount of pushups (easy variation for him) before we play video games together.
As far as the diet part goes there isnt much i can help there, my parents still like buying junk food that he tries to eat all of. But sometimes I’ll try and make a healthy breakfast or something for him and try and feed him the few healthy foods he does enjoy.
Id say hes making progress, through our exercise sessions he is getting stronger and faster, still definitely not a healthy level for a kid his age but he’s improving and that’s what’s important.

This is not her specialty... it’s obvious she is not experienced with a serious problem. I hope you can find someone who really works with small children with a true eating problem. Not emotional eating but just an over eating problem. Please bring in a qualified specialist ....those who are trained in coaching children. (You are right Brooke a six year old isn’t going to deal with emotions as connected to food. They eat cuz they like it!).
