FYI most libraries have a section for buying used books and they’re usually a dollar or less :) and the money goes towards the library / library programs!

same and i love how my library has a section corner that the entire shelfs is full of free books, Also you can bring in spare books you don't want and swap for different one.
I love love used bookstores and only buy books there at a fraction of the price. A lot of other TH-camrs go to the fancy ones and buy fancy hardcovers so its refreshing to see you buy vintage editions 👍

It's true Charles 11/22/63 is also my favorite King book. It explores so much more than just the titular event and its main theme time travel. If you haven't read it yet, I suggest giving it a try. 💯 If you happen to find the book not much engaging then I also suggest watching the series adaptation it's good too.

Okay I'm here because Alana posted about you, and now I'm subscribed (even though I didn't like the only Agatha Christie book I've ever read...🙃). Your tour through the last store had me laughing out loud though. Most of the physical books I buy are used because there's a nonprofit bookstore in my neighborhood that I can walk to in less than 10 minutes...it's not healthy. 😆
Wow if there was a used book place in walking distance I would truly have no space left. Which Agatha was it?? Some of them aren't great, but I got hooked on the awesome ones and now I go to them just for the atmosphere, even if they aren't the best
@@cs0p I read "And Then There Were None"...I've heard it's one of her better ones, but I just didn't care about any of the characters and the monologue letter at the end to explain how everything happened felt really contrived...but maybe that's normal for mystery? I'm not normally a mystery reader.
@@OnefortheBooks Fair fair. That was the one that hooked me! The ending was contrived, but I still had a blast at the plot twist mic drop hahaha. Other of her books are much more "logical," but I wouldn't recommend if you didn't like And Then--I get why some people don't love them

Great video with some neat stores. I live in Chicago and used to go to used bookstores regularly, however almost all of them have closed in recent years and I do more of my buying online as I can find exactly the particular book or author in which I'm interested. My neighborhood has one really geat bookstore for new books called Unabridged Books where I sometimes get new releases of authors I admire. The Woman in White by Wilkie Collins is one of my favorites. I've read The Moonstone also and almost all of Dickens, who was a friend of his.
I also buy most of the books I want specific editions of online. I will have to check out unabridged if I swing by chicago. I still think about marian and the count. I can't believe I haven't read any dickens 💀💀💀
@@cs0p I would recommend starting with Great Expectations when you decide to read Dickens, although my personal favorite is David Copperfield. I still remember taking a paperback copy of Oliver Twist with me to Boy Scout Camp when I was 12 years old. Anyway all of Dickens' novels are great - but Bleak House, A Tale of Two Cities, Nicholas Nickleby, and The Mystery of Edwin Drood (unfinished) are among his best - given your love of mysteries you might like Edwin Drood even though Dickens died before he could finish it.

I highly recommend two short stories collections (for adults) by Dahl: 'Lamb to the slaughter' and 'Kiss kiss', especially the first one was a cool read. So cynical and gruesome (in a good way). It's not horror like Stephen King, just really good and sinister stories. You'll like it.

Random question but what do you think about children’s books or middle grade books? also I love to shop at used book stores I had this one used book store by me and it was the jackpot for like classic mystery books from the publisher Grosset and Dunlap stuff like Hardy Boys and Nancy Drew

Maybe instead of suddenly giving up caffeine altogether you should try giving it up slowly for example if you drink 2 cups a day try drinking 1.5 cup a day and after a week go to 1 cup a day or have a "wekaer" coffe with less caffeine ?
i tried that one time and the i said you know what purgatory isnt for me and went to like 3 cups instead of 2 so i could dance to my music without having a headache
The outlet with the bins of books gave me so much anxiety, I will never go there or else I will fix the whole bins of books.

@@cs0p the West Coast isn’t dotted with them unlike other parts of the country. We have them….but they are MILES apart….not worth the drive. Big Box stores drove them away.
