The CEO of Barnes and Noble is James Daunt, the founder of Daunt books and managing director of Waterstones and Foyles, which is why Waterstones and Foyles have Barnes vibes. A totally useless fact, but I needed to share it.
I was in London and Oxford a bit over a month ago and did my annual "buying too much to fit in the suitcase" routine (11 paperbacks). The Piccadilly Waterstones is excellent, especially with Fortnum & Mason almost right next door. The Trafalgar Square Waterstones is probably my favorite - the basement is huge - but I always pick up something at the Oxford Waterstones. I miss the old Foyles and skipped the new location on this go-around, and many years ago a large Blackwells was across the road (I purchased a shelfful of Margaret Atwood's novels in paperback that she signed when she stopped in after giving a reading in Wales - everything but THE HANDMAIDS TALE!). But on your next trip you must stop in at Hatchards, down the street from the Piccadilly Waterstones - it's been operating since 1797 and has one of the best bookstore staffs around. I've often found the paperback editions of newer books, especially novels and best-seller nonfiction, in the UK well before those editions hit US bookstores such as B&N.
If you've not been before, you might like Hatchards - it is near the Waterstones in your video and is one of the cosiest, nicest bookshops I've ever been in in London. Easily my favourite
when shopping for books i usually go to whsmith because of the convenience and the 3 for 2 deals. i went there today and I brought a mixture of fiction and non-fiction books. but by the looks of it you brought way more.
Northanger Abbey by Jane Austen is a fantastic book if you want to read a literature classic, because it's not particularly long, but it's funny and fun
2:23 all these books with pastel covers and titles like Happy Place are designed to attract women. 😡 If I was a woman I would be insulted by such designs.🧐 *It seems like these book hauls by women generally only feature fiction, am I wrong?.

Omg I didn’t know that! That’s so interesting thank you for sharing!
Didn't waterstones also buy B&N recently? I know Paper Source merged with B&N this year.
@@Fiddler4mySaviorYes, Daunt was with Waterstones way before B&N. B&N was failing so they brought Daunt in for a rebrand.
I read Little Women when I was about 10 and it was my absolute favourite book for many years. I feel like there's someone for everyone in the book.
I'm planning on re-reading it this winter!
love her vibe she seems so sweet and genuine and the music was very nice and relaxinggg
