    Hi I have one a 1994 import ,so its one of the 2500 original homologation cars ,I drive it everyday, it's fantastic ,don't think I will ever sell it. I got it for £1750 twelve years ago , have probably spent 4 grand on up keep but I love this car. Your review was spot, Cheers.

      Crazy to think they were once so cheap. Even the not so good ones cost 10 times more now.

    More like older brother.
    Because the Supra was originally a trim of the Celica and then all together became a different car.
    Nice video btw.

    The Toyota Caldina GT-T is a Gt4 with a huge boot and rear seats with alot of leg room, cool thing is they have the same drivetrain.

    I came because I saw my dream car and I subscribed because your editing is top-notch. Seriously thought this was a channel with 200k+ subs with how good it is. Felt kinda like watching an old Top Gear episode. Keep it up!

    Imported one from Japan to Canada, thought it would be interesting to drive. It was a well spent $1,500, despite having front suspension issues, with the super strut dog bone linkage, on the right-hand side. Amayama trading had the part out of Saudi Arabia, after which it was excellent to drive. Selling it proved a problem, as few people know what it is. Eventually i traded it, straight up, for a Honda Civic SIR, which was way mor marketable, and actually made a profit.

    Awesome video. I love all three generations of the gt-fours but the st185 is my favorite of the bunch. I actually have the luck of one of my relatives giving me his 185, if I can manage to fix it up first. I would love to own the other two one day, but a 205 will suffice if I manage to find one

  • @A7Xforlife99
    @A7Xforlife99 ปีที่แล้ว

    The boots are actually an alright size, that owner had relocated the battery to the boot by the looks of things and done a false floor raising it up loads, as standard can get a good amount in, done a tip run with my old one with a 2 person sofa wedged in (poking out obviously).

  • @Alltracavenger
    @Alltracavenger ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Excellent video. I've never driven an ST205, but I've driven a few ST185s and owned a couple of ST165s(one currently).
    I can somewhat explain the lack of cargo space. This particular car looks like it's had a battery relocation mod done, so you've got a battery sitting in the middle of the hatch area that takes up a fair bit of footprint. Also, the AWD packaging at the rear intrudes on space; the addition of the rear subframe, differential, and axles take up a fair bit of bulk. Add the necessity of a full-sized spare wheel(the AWD system will be damaged by a space-saver) and that adds up to not a lot of junk in the trunk.
    As the back seat is hardly ever used, you get tons of space with the rear seats folded down. I've put a full set of 18" wheels and tires for a Lexus LS430 in the back of my ST165; on another occasion I put in most of an A70 Supra's interior(minus the seats). It is a fairly practical car(I dailied mine for a few years), though you do have to think a little outside the box to get it to work sometimes. :)

    • @bcm70
      @bcm70 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey mate - even without the battery being moved to the back, there's not much space in the boot. I owned one back in the 90s when they first came out. Boot space wasn't really something I thought about much though! The Aussie ones had a strut brace running between the rear towers as standard to remove even more space. One of the coolest features though was being able to hook up the water spray for the front bar though. All of the hardware was there in the standard car in the Aussie delivered ones. Mechanic mate of mine helped me get mine working.

    Adept editing, man! I love Toyota, and the ST205 Celica GT Four is iconic, even in the shadow of the Supra. That bov sound gives me jubilance. Your video breakdown was great and your production was very good. Keep making content man, I guarantee you that your channel is going to take off!

    Amazing.. the gt-four is my absolute dream car, in the process of saving for one right now whilst im overseas! Cant wait to get one, you’re a huge influence and motivation for me to get one. Thank you!! Also if youre able to, is there a way you can drop a list of mods that are on the one you drove? Or just basic tips to help maintain one to the calibre it deserves? Have a great one, love the video ❤️

    "still feels light weight to me" ow little did we know that wile yes it was heavy...compared to what was to come it's weight is super reasonable :P it's lighter then some specs of modern mini's :P
    had an ST myself...a compared to modern cars fly weight spec of the 6th gen :P but it indeed got claimed by rust, when i got it i got comments about how good the floor was (in hindsight i shoulda maybe taken it then and there for some rust proofing just to try and delay the enevatable) but 7 years later rust started to bust out in multiple places along the floor which to me was a sign of it soon escalating to unaffordable repairs for me so i had to get rid of it :( still miss it despite it being underpowered, having a tractor turning circle, and no AC....atleast it had hips :P
    also the wing certainly won't help but....it was always a pain in the ... to park, 7th gen is easier with that atleast :P
