The Pig & Whistle is a massive venue with 140 seater restaurant, 16 hotel rooms and a huge rooftop bar. I put an offer in a couple months ago but it got rejected but my offer is still there on the table should no one give them what they're asking, which is way OTT in my opinion.
Ran into Nick and Den Den yesterday and had a great conversation with them. This is my first time in Pattaya, but when I walked into Soi 7, everything looked so familiar to me as I have watched a lot of NDtv. Amazing experience, like being in movie set 😍
Nick it’s amazing how far you have come in such a relatively short time , from the days in Soi pothole. It just goes to show if you put the effort in you get the rewards . I’m pleased for you and I’m sure there are a lot more places to come . See you soon mate 👍🙏
So much has been done in the short week I have been gone! Good to see those bars looking so good Soi 8. The theme of Lupa looks good and as you say, that brown paint - ugh!
My experience with the inverter a-c units is that they have a shorter working life, their controller cards go bad fast and burn out easily with electrical spikes during storms, parts are expensive and hard to get and not many people really know how to work on them. I tried them but switched back to regular a c units. confidence does not equal competence with some of those contractors. If you are not going to be there during construction, they could make a lot of mistakes, like building a low bar height and take short cuts with maybe inferior chinese wiring. Nevertheless, Bar is going to be awesome when finished and your neighborhood there is going to be very supportive, I think. Way to go!
I remember going to Sailor Bar almost a decade ago. The drinks were some of the cheapest in town (especially the cocktails). I got passed out drunk on the cheap Long Island Ice Tea, met a crazy Thai lady who wouldn't leave me and my Thai girlfriend alone until I paid for her drinks and hotel for the night. Good times in crazy Pattaya!
Looking forward to the new layout of Hook Up Corner. Very smart ideas to work around the ATM and integrate the bar. I’m a frequent visitor to Sailor Bar to eat so the expansion will be nice next time I visit. We would often find it difficult to find seating in the old place. Great place for a quick cheap meal before hitting A7.
they really did a number on the bar complex at the end of soi 8 and beach road...I can barely recognize it anymore but it's looking spectacular and can't wait to check it out

i dont know who owns the sailor bar now but i remember when peter a german guy opened the sailor bar first 1987 it was originally up closer to second road then he used to sit in the bar all day drinking beer disappear around 8pm i often wonder is he still about

Welcome back. Amazing transformation of those beer bars on beach road. Food in Sailor Bar is ok, but their cocktails are the best value around, cheap as chips and pretty strong. Those two guys looked flat out in your new bar 😊

I honestly enjoyed it because it was family and friends time. It does seem to have doubled in price when you're eating out. Where my family lives it is nice and hasn't changed but the town centre is horrible. A once thriving town ruined by zombies.

Welcome back, Nick. It was a short trip home, but I am sure it was good to catch up with your folks and some of your old buddies again. They have done quite a bit of work on the Lupa bar while you were away, most of it is hidden so it still looks like there is still a lot to do till it is finished, but I am sure that it is going to look amazing. Sailor Bar looks great. As you said the food there isn't top quality, but it is substantial and reasonably tasty. The Red Cat Bar looks amazing, as do all the other bars there. The place really did need an upgrade, It was disgusting in there before, but now it looks so clean and inviting. 40,000 Bhat to remove the ATM and replug it back in again is ridiculous, they are ripping you off. However, I am sure when it is all finished it will look great. It is just a shame you were not allowed to remove it altogether. Neil

The owner from RCA told me that the inverter AC units on the open air bars are actually not worth the extra cost as the inverter saves your bill from the unit turning on/off. He said with open open air bar it would be rare the room actually hits the correct temperature to shut off so it’s Not worth it. He also said repairs are generally more expensive on inverter units… something to consider for your next bar.
Deal of the Century that100b a platter in a well known bar, gonna be rammed..........................I have an opinion of the frontage and bar in Hook up..............Are you not allowed to get rid of the framework that houses the 'bar to be' and the ATM and just leave the ATM standing alone?..................For me, the 'bar to be' isn't really gonna make alot of difference in revenue, but what does make a difference is the ability for passers-by to see wide screen so to speak what you have going on in Hook up and freely walk in. That bar to be' is still blocking the bar together with the plants etc. And as important is the ability for the Hook up customers to watch the world go by with an uniterrupted view... I don't really know Pattaya that well, but I don't imagine there are many bars like yours that have frontage onto 2nd road, which has to be very interesting to people watch and those walking past will be able to walk straight in with the 'bar to be' removed......For this you need it to be completely wide open allowing free flowing access...You talked about more light, but if you remove that bar, it will open up a whole new panorama with just a small ATM box and electric post in the periphery.............I would conservatively estimate that you will treble your foot traffic into the Bar from 2nd road if you do open it up.........................Just saying and best regards............................

You should sell frozen slushy alcohol/non-alcoholic cocktails from that ATM bar? That is very common in Las Vegas on Fremont Street, always popular with customers.

No they only wear masks whilst working in malls and some restaurants. Pretty much gone from here now.

Sailor Bar 20 years ago used to have some hot ladies, before the restaurant opened . Eve was the owner then, had some great times back in the day 🍻👌

I was also told this and told it isn't true as long as you have air curtains.
