“- That’s a terrible idea! The card business is in decline and will disappear soon.
- I sold my previous businesses for 20 million.
- That’s actually a neat idea”
I buy from thortful for every birthday, anniversary, and holiday, and the customer service is impeccable. I never realised the CEO was on Dragon’s Den and I love it even more now!
Came here to basically make the same comment! It's great!
Didn't realise it had been on Dragons' Den
Same!!
The first greeting card business seems to do incredibly well, they have over 58k 4,5+ out of 5 ratings on trust pilot. According to Google the business was worth 50million usd in 2022 😊
Bloke’s got a fantastic track record to be fair.

I think the door jammer is a neat product. To push and force open the door would take more than ten seconds - probably at least twenty seconds, which is enough time for the guest in the room to call for help.
5:46 When the mood shifted, from potential investor, to mutual respect for a fellow millionaire entrepreneur.
The door jammer didn't work because the mockup door wobbled from side to side so it tipped over. In actual application, the door is fixed on a solid wall so the frame wouldn't shift from side to side. Its a shame the reason went unnoticed and the whole tone was set afterwards.
i was thinking the same...on a steel door and frame itt would probably be very effective.
I came to make the very same product…. Also, to add on that… the key words were silent entry and it would be more than sufficient
The product is still no better than a conventional doorstop.
My thought exactly!
The problem is that it isnt really that much of a step up from a wooden doorstop
i think the dragons were slightly intimidated by the first guy lol
They like to be able to lord it over their prey
He could write them a cheque for £80k and reduce their equity tomorrow
@@JS-zy6pw yep
His name is Bradley Cooper 😂
@@darrenmcgovern1310i thought so at the beginning 😂
For a dragon investment, you have to sell your house move in a caravan have a business with 2 million in sales and accept £25000 for 45% of the company. And thats just for Jenny Campbell to say 'im out'.
The door jammer is a great idea. It gives the guest in the room at least 20 seconds to rouse themselves to alert security or call for help. I think it’s a winner.
nope - see my post above. paid £3.99 for door jammer (normal wedge) that has a loud siren - would scare the person inside the room and the one outside
The first guy very smart 😊
Always order my cards off Thortful, great unique cards
The Bike Away guy was nuts! A likeable guy but he had some real confusuion around the concept of shareholding structure. Surprising considering how far he had taken the business already.
He is autistic!
its worth over a mil now lol they have the lockers at stations now
@@drkarats6147 Thanx for sharing the good news! We wish him well. May all the stations all over the world carry his bicycle lockers🤑
The first guy was intimidating to the dragons.
So I’ve watched EVERY video on this channel, thanks for the uploads, but could you possibly start uploading episodes that you haven’t already uploaded previously on here? I know there’s still quite a few episodes that we haven’t had posted from the entire season.
You know how it is. They want to keep people coming back weekly, so they upload one or two a week normally on a Friday or Saturday.
Scary how much time people spend watching TV these days. After 100s if not 1000s of hours of free content you actually complain 100% isn't on for free. It's no wonder they had to copyright literally everything...
@@LunchMeatTrump What does copyright have to do with anything?
@@JazzyMarineVet I agree, they need to upload with a certain regularity to keep the audience engaged and to keep subscription numbers rising.
@@BenjaminGoose Everyone went crazy about copyrights because all you poor people want 100% of everything for free.
The thing about the second one is that it's a deterrent. Also, the noise from trying to kick the door down WOULD alert people, even if you weren't in!
Yeah but if they were coming in to do you harm, or worse, it's completely useless. You have to consider the worst case scenario, which this product doesn't do.
I have a door jammer I bought from Lidl for £3.99 -It lets of a mega siren if moved. That would scare me and whoever was trying to get in.
Thortful is huge now, i use it all the time for birthdays and to send cards
55:10 Duncan is so funny when he say dynamo lights hahaha :D that was like 20 years ago hahahaha !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
6:16 Jenny realising her gravy train is coming to an end.
That door jammer is brilliant. I can put it on my door whilst I'm pumping the Mrs. The kids won't be able to walk in.
lovely..
huh
😂
Im out.
Just do it when your kids are sleeping lil buddy
3 seconds to wake up, then maybe 5 to realize why ive been woken and hear someone breaking in, that leaves 2 seconds for me to get up and be ready to do something about the intruder
Useless fact but I’m a window cleaner and I actually clean Jenny’s windows. Her house is beautiful. She owes me 7 weeks money though 😞 every time i knock on for it she’s out
There's a surprise! 🤣🤣
@BenjaminGoose I bet you are no longer her window cleaner after she reads yr comment regarding her personal affairs
Lols
Did you get paid yet? 😅
She’s still out
I find it weird the first guy was so nervous. If he had been hugely successful before then he should be use to doing these kinda presentations
Not normally with cameras though
I guess you missed the part where he clearly said he hadn't ever gotten outside investments in his prior businesses....meaning he never had to pitch. So makes perfect sense he was nervous.
@@ohai1526Some people aren’t great with comprehension
Entrepreneur: If you got into it within 10 minutes you can have your money back again
Peter Jones: Ok let me introduce you to my friend
"This is the Lockpicking Lawyer, and today we will be taking a look at a bicycle locker that someone is seeking funding for...."
Best comment here😂😂
These people are brilliant minds
I travel often and always take a rubber wedge to put under the door, cost me £1 and takes up no space. This is a ludicrous idea.
Im pretty sure ive seen bikeaway lockers at my local train station
If i was that dragon, I want 20% of their main business to be interested
Thortful I use every year, its got the best cards available in my opinion.
So let me get this straight, after the show he said keep your money and u have 5.5% in the business.
Those bike helmets with the lights...Why wouldn't I just buy a reflective helmet? Bam, product redundant...How the Sharks didn't mention that baffles me.
34:13
Can always count on a Scotsman 😂
Thortful for the FY22 made £22.2m and £112k profit. YTD profit is pretty good at £1.61m
5% for £80k at the time of the show was very much on the more overvalued side, but alas did very well regardless.
.5% profit?
I make my own cards, and put a puppy paw print on the back from Teddy my Cocker Spaniel.
This Firemizer man could have made more money by just suing those marketing companies, had he been in the US.
LmaI’m Jenny says ‘good decision’ like she’s the big dog. Mug
I’ve got lights on my head everyone!🙋🏻♂️
first guy looks like wolverine
🔥🔥🔥
Thortful now has a turnover of £33m
They did 42.4M in USD in 2022 (legit source). Pretty darn good! Trying to find legit info of their net worth though, google is plagued with spam results.
Is this true?
@@yessi1585huge company, yes.
@@yessi1585It isn't. It's 35+ now.
@@undertheneonlights Dollars, not pounds.
"i'm not Dangermouse", camera cuts to Penfold..
17:38 It is NOT a superconductor, that's physically impossible.
The guy went straight past room temperature superconductors to ones that need to be heated up.
Surely they didn't think they had a patent for a light on a helmet haha
It is very interesting how both the first accomplished entreprenuers were 'nervous' when they were pitching. Then you have absolute bozos coming in with boatloads of confidence.
I'm absolutely convinced there was some tv acting in there.. orrrr they have financial trouble and like a gambler are only giving us the good side
Theres a sick multi millionaire in the den!!!!
the doorjammer, nobody asked the medical question, say somebody falls and bumps their head, how much longer would it take paramedics to respond to them in an emergency? if the answer is just 10 seconds extra, then the product doesn't do much does it?
Solar panel?
The best two words that you want to hear from Debra and Duncan are “I’m out”
Even I have a good business ideas wish i could get someone who can buy for my ideas
That bike shed can be broken in, in a matter of minutes, either you pick the lock or if you don't have lock picking skills... You simply take a battery operated grinder and cut the sheet metal around the lock and done...
That sounds really noisy. How much success have you had with that method?
@@BenjaminGoose lol
The door jammer works, the door should have been more secure for the test to work alot more better
Only in Britain will multi millionaires come and stand like schoolboys before fellow millionaires asking for inconsequential amounts of money they themselves can easily afford with some pretence of needing the PR.
AND… who pays for the BBC programming? The tax payer 😂
The cycle helmet lights are not a very good idea, building them into the structure of the helmet removes the safety aspect and the housing for the lights looks 1990's
Do you really think that having a helmet without the lights would increase your chances of surviving if you were to be hit by the car?
I was wondering why no one asked about the durability of the helmet. Most helmets are supposed to be discarded after they are damaged. Imagine falling off your bike and and writing off your 85 quid helmet

My local card shop sells their cards for 60pence no matter what size,so i don't need to go on line to buy any and put money in first person's pocket
9:15 👁👁🫦
Can someone explain the 600k for 50% in the bike deal at around 45:00 to me?
If you look at it mathematical, the entrepreneur seems go be right. If the company is worth 600k and the investor pays 300k (into the company, NOT on the private bank account of the entrepreneur) for 50%, then the company is worth 900k now. The investor owns the equivalent of 450k, whoch is 150k more than he spent, while ghe entrepreneur has lost those 150k.
Just like when you buy stocks of Microsoft online, this 300k must go the PRIVATE bank account of the entrepreneur in return for his 50% share of the company - only this way the dragons are correct.
23:46 me father normally says don't give me any more of this product i haven't used the first one yet " Oh Jesus lol that has to be the literal worst comback ive ever herd
Bradley Cooper, cards
How is the BikeAway guy a rich man? There wasn’t a discussion about his past
Yeah
He is now.
He pu 1,5 million into his bussiness and gave away 11% for 60k?? Ridiculous
That’s why deals rarely actually happen they just need the advert
It went from what, 1m£ turnover? to now £35m
I don’t understand why they would be diluted if he raised again?
Debster was not impressed...
A million degrees per second??
06:15 - Jenny could hardly breathe 🤣🤣🤣
Not sure wot was making her pant so much... The 👨🏻...or his 💷💷...🤔
The door 🚪 clamp could be a great tool for your elder children stopping younger children going in there rooms while they sleep 😴 shame they didn't pitch it
What’s it with millionaires forgetting their pitches?
Money doesnt determine peoples nerves lol.
These are not kids developing an app they're multimillionaires with multimillionaire investments on those projects, they're literally fighting for thousands of working hours and massive investments that they took upon themselves. Try that.
the first guy has made 21 million pounds in selling companies and stands there looking for a relatively small time investment, not clean shaven.
JENNIE ACCEPTED A DEAL?

These Dragons are very sensitive, like spurned lovers.
Clearly, went in there for recognition and a bit of fame.
Why does anyone require eight bicycle helmet??!!!why not just ONE???
Use to work at thortful the first company that was on here. Awful place made me suicidal, 10 hours of work with only 20 mins break. Pure slavery
Sorry guys it's too boring!! You gotta do something about that!

I don't know how online greeting cards survive. Let's be honest. I find a card I take a screenshot and send it. In fact that reminded me to post on my sisters socials for her birthday.
Exactly
I always give cards to family members and for Christmas times
sorry the card market is still growing jenny so you will need to find another reason to say im out
