@@gcbwoods You are welcome! My Uncle spoiled My Cousin and he doesn't really have any Lifeskill Lessons. I don't even remember seeing him Iron anything. I know it's cheesy but I love ironing. There's nothing better then Ironing and getting the wrinkles out and creases out and making them look so fabulous.
Yeah they use a pre-ironed shirt to keep the aesthetic but this doesn't teach you anything on how it works and how to deal with folds. A really stubborn fold can only be treated with a steam-hit and repeated "scrubbing" with the iron. That's how I was able to get folds out of my chino pants.
Thank you so much for sharing this. It took me 15 minutes to do it but it was one of the first time I iron a shirt properly. Anyway, I am satisfied of the result !
I love to iron my shirts, my mother taught me when I was a child and my wife helped me improve my technique. For many years, I used to spend Sunday afternoons ironing the clothes that I was going to wear during the week.
But you should iron the shirt inside out. You do this to make sure that you don't see any discoloration from the ironing or any damages the iron can make to the fabric. This way you can wear your shirt longer, it is also the way they do it in tailor shops.
@@Michael-lg4wz The iron was too hot and has probably burnt some clothes over the years. It's the residue from burnt fabric stuck on the iron that stains clothes and causes that intense ironing smell. I always clean my iron when it burns something. Get a sheet of newspaper and spread a mound of salt on it. Turn on your iron on the highest heat setting and iron over the salt until all the burnt residue is gone.
So I just pressed two shirts using this technique. Two things. One) it takes a long time. Two) I've ironing shirts wrong my whole life. Thank you for making this tutorial

I would never in a million years do sleeves last. My order is: Collar, yoke, arms and cuffs, back, and front. That works very well. The sleeves should definitely be done before the back and front though.
+Charles Garton Agree, he also didn't mention the placket end of the sleeve of which you might need to have a separate narrower ironing board has most shirts has pleats at that end.
I just remembered how "Cousin Emma" on The Brady Bunch taught The Brady Family how to organize their House. She was a former Member of The Military yet what she taught them is just as relevant today. From Folding a Shirt, keeping a Closet organized or making a Bed. Then when Bobby lives in The Dormitory or on his own, his place is a Mess.
Folding tip -- Lay another shirt (like a t-shirt or polo) on top of your dress shirt before you fold it, and fold them together so that the other shirt ends up on the inside of the folded bundle. This will help prevent or reduce creases from the folding in the dress shirt.
Collar, yoke, iron collar folded down (vital step), arms (ensure edges are soaking wet for a sharp, neat crease), cuffs, left front, back, right front (so that you can simply rotate the shirt around the board with minimal fingering).
My grandpa taught me to iron a shirt but I could not remember if we press a crease on the top part if the shirt or not. This is a formal shirt, it will be worn under a blazer but when you press a casual shirt do you press a crease or not? Thank you 😊
i just finished ironing my shirt and it looks good. it took twenty minutes but anyway, beauty takes time and pain too i guess, considering the amount of the fingers i burned.
I applied this method of ironing and my shirt was perfect. Downside being i was 3 hours late to work
😂😂

Of course. He probably forgot to mention it.
@@dingdong1519 then the question is: what do u have to do if all of ur shirts are not ironed? :(
