Hi Antonio, I've got a question about the gig line. Do you already have an ebook or article about that, so I can read that? If not, my question: "Where is the gig line supposed to be?" Is the straight side of the front seam of the trousers (thus the one giving access to the zipper) supposed to be in the dead center line of your torso? Or is that line supposed to be in the middle of the gig line, meaning there is equal breadth of cloth from the front seam on either side of the imaginary line running down the middle of the torso? Answering my own question: The image at 0:46 seems to indicate the gig line is not a line but a narrow strip. Meaning the access to the zipper should not be dead (torso-)center, but the middle of the front seam should be in the middle of the torso. My problem with that is that (a) I usually wear dark tshirts (which I feel dress down my chubby-chub-chub -ness better) that do not have a center line, and that (b) the dress shirts and trousers I currently own appear to have different gig line breadths(?) (feeling very non-native as I try to verbalize this, lol). Anyhow, sorry for making the question so long, I know you have little time and many things to do :/ But would love to know how I should be adjusting my trousers after having gone to the toilet etc XD Love your amazing content! Keep it up ^^ Oh, and also, please investigate if you can find sponsors in Europe. I don't know if that is worth your time investment (depends on your international audience distribution, I suppose) but I find that supporting your sponsors is hard. Bought a belt set at Anson and that was nice but 150 bucks for 2 belts is a really pricey sell - especially since I already co-ordered with a friend and we emailed them for a small shipping fee reduction... Agreed, tailored shirts make a big difference! I've found even with tailored shirts, adding the shirt stays keeps the shirt in place all day even when I'm moving around quite a bit.
Came back to this video a couple of years later to say, THANKS! Been using these tips and they work. Super-helpful, especially since we wear button-up shirts and slacks as our work uniform at the HVAC company I work for. The military tuck and 'underewear tuck' method are great for Techs that have to look good AND work hard in our uniform.
I ordered a set of shirt stays from the company you recommended and wore them for the 1st time today. I Will NEVER EVER wear another dress shirt without them. My shirt stayed tucked in and I was looking great all day long. Best thing I have purchased in a while. Thank you so much for the tip!!!
Shirt stays are amazing! I’ve been a police explorer for a year now and when I had my basic recruit uniform it was all over the place untucked and unprofessional, when we received our explorer uniform halfway through the academy the officers made it mandatory to buy shirt stays and god they made life so much easier to dress formally and look formal, Ive been using a pair that I bought at a military surplus store for 12 dollars for every dress shirt that I wear with it still working like new I totally recommend.
I did not expect to learn anything from this. Only watched because the series had been good up to now. Tucking T-shirt inside briefs, then dress shirt, inside pants... brilliantly so simple, cannot believe I had not thought of it! Thankya!
Just used the military tuck this morning on a more traditionally cut dress shirt that was a little too loose around the waist after losing weight. Rather than dump the shirt, I did the tuck and it worked perfectly.
Shirt stays?!?! Holy crap thank you!! Never heard of it, but I'm now extremely excited about it. I'm going to have to buy a set for work. I work in the technology and engineering field and I always look like an idiot the second I get out of the car to head into the office. Thanks so much for these killer tips.
I'm way late on this but they also make a stirrup style that you just put your foot though so you don't have to clip it to your socks also and I personally find more comfortable
You get used to it. Every Marine also knows when standing up from sitting, to run his thumbs along the inside front of his belt line to re-tuck any loose shirt material.
Having stumbled across this channel completely by accident a few days ago, I have to say, this is one channel I could easily watch everyday. Lots of great info here. Having been a soldier for 20 years I’m pretty familiar with ways to look your best, but that’s with a uniform. Not having a lot of quality civilian clothes, I didn’t really take too much interest in what I purchased. Thanks to your videos, I’m actually looking forward to increasing my civvi attire and having great guidance whilst doing it
You deserved my sub. I'm studying for my law degree and have recently realised that I have to look as good,as a document I'm working on,so I have to learn more about dressing properlu
let's face it: the underwear tuck is not the most elegant way, but definitely the fastest, sort of easiest and most importantly most reliable of them all.
Depends on the woman. Not all of them expect you to look cool when you're in your underwear. Some might even find it ridiculous. Don't forget that looking cool in your underwear never mattered except in the last few years (or maybe decades).
I have never worn them, but first I would pull off the sock clips, take off the socks, unbuckle and unzip my pants, pull off the shirt clips and discretly pull the whole garters out off my pants and throw them smoothly where the socks are lying (and soon will be lying my pants and shirt). The reason would be not garters looking stupid (I think they look rather classy), but man looking like a fool with socks and no pants.
I used to get my shirts taken in on the sides when I was in the service. This worked great at the time because my weight and physique stayed pretty much the same back in those days. Now that im older and busy with life and family, my diet and exercise time fluctuates constantly so tailoring my shirts is an unrealistic and costly option. I dont remember what its called but there is something you can by that is kind of like a this, rubberized strap that you wear around and over your dress shirt just below the belt line of your trousers that works good for this type of issue.
in the military I learned shirt stays are a life saver that will make you look good as well. granted they suck if you got hairy legs like me and plus they run the risk of snapping and that's no fun. I still wear them in my dress uniform and even when I go to clubs to help give me that added sleek look
Knowing KK & Jay from this video has to be the best thing ever. Yeah I knew about SHIRT STAYS before, but I had no idea what it is called in English. In my country, there will be no high quality products, so I didn't give much attention to it anyway. Until NOW. Ordered 4 pairs of sockless shirttail garters in 2th Nov, got them on 21st, a bit longer than I expected but wth. The following day I got a meeting with some Japanese partners, so I took the opportunity right away. Worked a treat! Basically, it keeps the shirt tucked in nicely all day after lots of stand up, sit down, bend over, and even reach up. Before, adjustment had to be done almost all the times whenever there was a movement. Now it seems effortless. Just do as they suggest, "using just enough tension to feel a SLIGHT PULL while standing normally", or else it'll be really weird and uncomfortable. A few things that still bug me though. (1) The calf strap actually will be visible under thin pants. The bulge is bigger than you think. (2) The metal ends on the calf strap also look a bit... not of a high quality, compared to other metal parts in the same item. Not a big deal, really, but if they can be improved, that'll be great. Thank you so much for this video. It changes my life! 👍
there is also a find of slightly rubbery grippy material that they can sew into your trouser waistband which helps hold your shirt in place. i find it very effective for holding shirts in place

out of topic: High Carb veganism without gluten and with whole food. It is very hard to gain fat and easy to loose a lot. I lost 20kg in 1 year of time (without even trying) - I did not care for my weight - but I just lost 20kg within a year, and I did no do any diet restrictions and like everyone told me, that I eat much too much... and after I lost weight they asked me, how I am so skinny, if I eat so much... the secret is: Eat healthy and a lot (as you need to eat more volume to get to the same calories - and even when I eat 5000 kcal in summer, I actually did not gain fat (but some muscles).
Even when I wear shirt stays when I stretch my arms I still get a little bit of a muffin top but it’s not nearly as bad without the shirt stays. Great product. I’m 6’5 so it’s nice you can adjust the shirt stays.
I just worked my first bar shift at a busy high end cafe today and my biggest issue of the day was keeping my shirt tucked in, I'm going to pick up some shirt stays on my way in tomorrow, The number of views attests to how many people needed this info, thanks!
The correct military tuck is when the material is pulled back at the sides as you showed them fold it back forward to pull the back tight too. Gives a beautiful line fore and aft.
I’m not joking, this information on tucking in your shirt is even useful for us girls, since I have to wear a school uniform to school each day. Although shirt stays won’t work, as they’ll show through my skirt.
In my bording school they have “how to tuck your shirt in” lesson they were crap so I had to watch this video. It even works if you wear this to sleep because they even make you do it in my school
I saw my boyfriend at his first Professional attire phase and I literally teared up like omg hes all grown up but always noticed that muffin-like, excess fabric on the sides and idk if its his form but its always like that. So I thought Id educate myself on it before talking to him abt ut :3 Helped a lot thankss
Wow thanks bro... The military tuck helped me alot, my shirt is now well tucked in. I was going for ceremony, your video saved my day! Thanks again. Liked ur video! Bye
Antonio, i've been a fan of yours for so long now, and i really needed this advice. Because i work out, my shoulders are way to hide for the core, i have a V shape, knowing this, every nice shirt i use, have to be bigger due to my shoulders and so, i have a lot of fabric loose on my core, and no matter how i tuck it in, it just wont look as good as you. What is the best way to hide or solve this problem. I will wait for your generous reply. Thank you for the attention.
+Hugo Silva I was saying that based off how well groomed you look in your picture but I guess your point still applies lol I've been caring more for my looks lately and that's not just for me it's for the ladies too so I'm not one to talk anyways. That's the Internet for ya
+Hugo Silva lmao then again you're subbed to vogue that's a bit questionable for any straight man. Maybe you're bi? Nothing wrong with whatever you like so long as it's not animals or hurting others
i have the same problem, simple really just go to a tailor and get them to get rid of those excess fabric. get them to measure you and tailor your shirt into a V-shape just like your body. All of my shirts are tailored and looks awesome
I use the military tuck, since it's a carried over technique when I was still in the army. But the other methods are right on the money. Nice and very handy tips. Thank you!

I am a woman too and was trying to figure out how to keep my silky shirt tucked in neatly. This video didn't really help me out as silk shirt is very Slippy and military tuck doesn't work long either. But some comments are so funny, I had a big laugh. Totally worth of it!
Some other dude posted this link above www.ebay.com/itm/Pair-Mens-Shirt-Stays-Holders-Elastic-Garter-with-Non-slip-Locking-Clamps-/151889568063?hash=item235d52e13f:g:T74AAOSw~bFWQ26D
Hi Antonio, I'd love a pair of shirt stays, but unfortunately they are very rare here in The Netherlands. Can't find them online except for U.S. based retailers who refuse to ship abroad. Do you think a tailor has such items in stock or can you suggest a type of store that does? Thank you in advance.
At officer candidate school I made a device of two alligator clips tied to the ends of strip of elastic which I attached to the inside seams of the shirt at the waist. I ran the elastic across the small of my back to hold the military tuck in place on my khaki shirt. In the summer heat it was much less irritating than the shirt stays. I do use shirt stays with my tux when I am on the risers at a mens' chorus concert.

Shirt stays are the way to go! I use them on my business trip to help keep me looking sharp. First impressions are important.
Has anyone ever met this General Tip? He always gives great advice!
Jokes on you. I'm a fat piece of shit who doesn't need to tuck in anything but my own insecurities!
out of topic: High Carb veganism without gluten and with whole food.
I'm a millionaire but yet I watch youtube videos on how to make money fast.
Joe Crawford
I was millionaire too. But of course I wasted lot of time on utube, and out of cash
Nad Hussi ha ha ha awesome
TheCaptain008 Nah bro im pretty sure you're a very great person, so stop being negative about yourself, Peace ✌
thank you so much, was just about to tuck in my shirt
zasfury Good timing! Thanks for watching
Gives a beautiful line fore and aft.
do you wear shirt stays all the time? I hated them while in the military
Not all the time - I don't sleep in them.
lol
+Real Men Real Style Those are a huge turn in for women LOL
I thought those were suspenders
But seems it may work with suspenders. Don't you think?
I’m not joking, this information on tucking in your shirt is even useful for us girls, since I have to wear a school uniform to school each day. Although shirt stays won’t work, as they’ll show through my skirt.
surprisingly I enjoyed that. In fact. that gave me some ideas. quite simple but I don't know why 8 didn't think of these little everyday things.
So I thought Id educate myself on it before talking to him abt ut :3 Helped a lot thankss
this is the quality content ive been looking for. subbed!
First i need to have a perfect body for this.
On point
Exactly... people who have shirt tuck issues generally have a belly that's the problem. Now how do you address that (other than losing the belly!).?
The last method...
ChistianTCMI the sock thing i guess, and if your socks start to roll down your foot just lift your arms up
@@ChistianTCMI belly is the single most problem in selecting the shirt
thank you TH-cam and your weird algorithm, for recommending this to me... I was wondering this earlier this morning
Wow thanks bro... The military tuck helped me alot, my shirt is now well tucked in. I was going for ceremony, your video saved my day!
Thanks again. Liked ur video! Bye
Shirt stays, had my dress shirts looking sharp!👌🏻
Great video, fantastic advice, though my wife was laughing hard at the shirt stays. Still, that's the best method!
shirts stays looks like kind of bdsm gadget so wrong lol 😂
Mirek Zyla LMFAO
Antonio, i've been a fan of yours for so long now, and i really needed this advice.
Because i work out, my shoulders are way to hide for the core, i have a V shape, knowing this, every nice shirt i use, have to be bigger due to my shoulders and so, i have a lot of fabric loose on my core, and no matter how i tuck it in, it just wont look as good as you.
What is the best way to hide or solve this problem.
I will wait for your generous reply. Thank you for the attention.
Nigga you gay. And there's nothing wrong with that. carry on
+Hugo Silva I was saying that based off how well groomed you look in your picture but I guess your point still applies lol I've been caring more for my looks lately and that's not just for me it's for the ladies too so I'm not one to talk anyways. That's the Internet for ya
+Hugo Silva lmao then again you're subbed to vogue that's a bit questionable for any straight man. Maybe you're bi? Nothing wrong with whatever you like so long as it's not animals or hurting others
For some of my dress shirts I will tuck them into my underwear (Similar to the underwear tuck).
i have the same problem, simple really just go to a tailor and get them to get rid of those excess fabric. get them to measure you and tailor your shirt into a V-shape just like your body. All of my shirts are tailored and looks awesome
I use the military tuck, since it's a carried over technique when I was still in the army. But the other methods are right on the money. Nice and very handy tips. Thank you!
Oh my gosh. That was rad. Thanks so much man. Gonna go get me a couple of them "shirt stays"
Thank You! I am so tired of always tucking my shirt in through out the day
ChillChannel You're welcome!
Do people really use the last method? 😦
Ashish Rana I can't imagine that😁
Ashish Rana mostly all cops does because of body armor under there clothes so they do all kind of smart stuff look cool and sharp all day
Ashish Rana yeah..cuzzz i mean how about when you want to pull of your socks because of technical issues that can't be avoide
Every day in the Marines dude
It is required when beggining as an officer, due to inspection

Wow what an invention
The shirt socks connector
Needed it for a long time
😁
Now I Understand *A picture worths a thousand words* great thumbnail.
thanks a lot, the back of my undershirt has shit stains on it. Now what Einstein? I'm on a date sending this message from the bathroom stall at Wendy's. Hurry, please! need an answer. >:(
I see you wrote this comment three weeks ago... are you still there? Your date's probably left by now.
Sam Reads If he's wearing a dress shirt and taking a girl to Wendy's on a date and has shit stains on his shirt, then there is no hope for him. He should just stick w/ prostitutes.
Then don't listen to a yt video dumbass
I am thinking that your version of a class restaurant is anyplace you don't carry your own tray. If you are at Wendy's, well, you need to come up a notch or two.
Jalen C. Waddle and fine dining...which DOESN'T include Wendy's.
2:42 how you gonna explain this when things get steamy with the lady tho?
YOU HAVE TO THINK - DO I WANT A PERFECTLY TUCKED IN SHIRT? OR SEXUAL INTERCOURSE? ALWAYS CHOOSE : PERFECTION
If she rejects you over shirt gaters to look good then reject her over using makeup to look good
I’m a woman who lost some weight and wanting to keep certain tops and this helped me a lot. Thank you.
I am a woman too and was trying to figure out how to keep my silky shirt tucked in neatly. This video didn't really help me out as silk shirt is very Slippy and military tuck doesn't work long either. But some comments are so funny, I had a big laugh. Totally worth of it!
Wow! Big lesson
Can the shirt stays be used with ankle socks?
if they aren't long enough, there are shirt stays that secure around the calf. if you have no calves, you might have bigger problems.
Hey Joseph, they also sell shirt stays that loop around your foot, instead of being attached to your socks. I found some on Amazon
Some other dude posted this link above

Went to catholic school, and you're giving me flashbacks
Hi Antonio,
I'd love a pair of shirt stays, but unfortunately they are very rare here in The Netherlands.
Can't find them online except for U.S. based retailers who refuse to ship abroad.
Do you think a tailor has such items in stock or can you suggest a type of store that does?
Thank you in advance.
Check out Sharp & Dapper - I think they are close to you!
Thank you so much!

I started using shirt stays on my military dress shirts when I was in the Army in the mid-1980s I still use them today.
Nice! I always wondered about that ahaha
I use the waste shirt Tucker’s for years and I can honestly say it’s the best 9 buck investment on amazon 💯
Why is this vid on recommended, AFTER I finished my military service?
Mfw
Thank you so much I just started baseball and this is really helpful
loved the last one gonna buy today thanks budy

this channel might be useful in some way's 😂
These shirt tucking methods are all done while laying flat on your back, on a bed, correct? Asking for a friend.
"Jockey" underwear ohhh my underwear name is "Thor"
Amazing how much there is to know about such a simple topic. Well done.
Surprisingly I had invented the military tuck by myself.....and from the video only I knew it's got a name...!!!!!!
