Plot twist its 5 theyre having triplets. My source? Lets just say I am the sister of the neighbor of the brother of their mailman's dog walker's librarian's cousin's mailman's mailwoman.
As someone who went to culinary school for a year and change (had to drop out due to health issues, worst thing I ever did sigh) and studied Asian cuisine while there - Chinese, Japanese and other Asian foods are incredible to me. All that being said, I LOVE Vietnamese rice rolls so much. AFAIK there isn't any difference really between a "normal' Cantonese rice roll and a rice roll you get in Vietnam etc. other than maybe the quality of the ingredients etc. but man, Vietnamese rice rolls are just delish. Paired with soy sauce, some chili sauce and maybe some spring onions or pickled onions they are SO good. Just a simple beef rice roll, absolutely amazing stuff. And it cooks in like nothing time. I love it.
Vietnamese rice roll is eaten with fish sauce, Chinese rice roll goes with soy sauce. Vietnamese rice roll is thinner and translucent since they spread it over a cloth spread. Also because they added more corn starch to avoid breakage when picking up from the cloth spread. Chinese rice roll is a little thicker and more oily because they steam on a plate, they need the oil to pick up the roll easily. They're both good. The Vietnamese version is chewier, the Chinese version has less corn starch and more oil so it's smoother you just swallow like butter
The poster stated “Attention Customers! Please do not bring your pets into the store/restaurant. Thank you very much!” It seems though a lot of viewers misunderstood the poster and thought they are selling dog/cat meats ??? lol 😂😂😂😂😂! It is the purpose of food safety/sanitation as Vietnam street carts/stores/restaurants are prepared in small spaces without a separated kitchen. Also due to the safety of the customer’s pets because 🔥 fire or hot water or sharp objects are in used during cooking ! Please do not assume we are being cruel to dogs/cats/pets in any forms ! ❤❤❤
*A relaxed yet exciting baby announcement! Huge congratulations to Sonny and your wife on this wonderful news! Wishing you both all the happiness as you prepare to welcome your little one into the world. Such an exciting chapter ahead for your family!*
19:28 is hilarious 🤣😂I have to admit the dim sum looked amazing, they were huge, and the cheung fun you had after looked nice too. Definitely would be a daily eat at those prices
Lots of comments on the picture of the two pets 😍😍 At 0:43 you can easily translate the image with GG, that sentence means: "Please do not bring pets into the restaurant"
When I lived in Nashville TN there was a tiny Vietnamese market in a gas station. The Vietnamese lady that owned it made the most incredible savory panckes I've ever had in my life. They were 2 for $1.00. If I ever go back, I'm definitely hitting that spot again.
I love watching the street food videos because you can learn much about a culture that way. And most cultures are wonderful. And no, culture and government, not the same thing.
Sonny, good morning to you from Hong Kong 🇭🇰 SAR. Singapore 🇸🇬 eateries (hawker centers) also sell this oyster-omelette. Very similar to what you ordered on the street in Vietnam 🇻🇳, but without the spring onions (chives). Still very good and tasty 👍👍👍👍👍👍but oily and full of cholesterol !
Saw the ig announcement 😍 love that we’ve watched you go from a funny guy who made jokes about finding the one to finding the one and starting his own little family ❤
Irrelevant to the video, I don't need your false god to live my life, this is a food video not a video about faith go to a religious video to get your likes there with all the sheep
yea, he lives there with his Vietnamese wife. The cool thing is that vietnam is really a central location for travelling to all of Southeast Asia (and kinda East Asia)
Dear Sonny the pounded rice cake called mua chee is sold in Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia. Mua yu refers to the sesame oil used. The Japanese version is mochi. It's of Fujianese origin so it's found in China and Taiwan too.
The first place you went to with the dim sum is so bomb. I just got back from Vietnam and a local took me here, total hole in the wall…..can’t believe you’re reviewing it….awesome!!
Great video once again...almost makes me want to go to Vietnam, if I wasn't so much in love with Malaysia. Maybe we can do both. Argh. So hard to decide, but great work Sonny.
$1 menu long gone here in US. It is amazing that post inflation, Vietnam is still affordable. Love your sports commentary style delivery on food getting prepared. Hope to make my way to Vietnam soon to try all that amazing food.
I’ve been watching you since I was 14, I’m 21 now. That tells you how well you keep your audience. Now I find my bf watching you as well ☺️ you go Sonny!
Gotta have soy sauce with red chili oil with all these dishes(sweets/desserts are an exceptions). Come on now!!! Red chili oil is a MUST for street foods!!!
Vietnamese food is one of my favourite cuisines ever if not in my top 3 hands down!! Banh Xeo, Banh Mi, Pho and the list goes on 😋 I mean Vietnamese food is similar to Cambodian food which is also delicious… oh boy this episode is making me hungry 😋
IMO Vietnamese food is a bit hit or miss. I find it over rated and pho is the last thing I wanna eat living here in Vietnam where it’s super hot. And fish sauce is used in way too many things
I have been living in European countries and various Asian countries for both a long time (24 years+): However, I regard Asian foods as the best in the world in creativity, taste, variety, and so on.
