Well, most magical thing for me over all the weird and great ones was when we sent a band of 4 mentally disabled men who spend their lives in care homes. That is a bold move without maybe looking for the victory, but they gave a voice and chance to mentally disabled, who else does it? Band was called Pertti Kurikan Nimipäivät.

This guy deserved the trophy more than anyone else. He: - sang in his own language - blew everyone away in the arena - got the most points from the people by a significant margin - conveyed an awesome message; don’t be afraid of the world, embrace your individuality. What else could someone do to win? Loreen is talented, but Tattoo was no Euphoria.
I came here to understand why so many people voted for a song and a stage performance that i found gross. Reading comments like this makes me guess: People celebrate this guy for embracing this freaky (and for my taste awkward) style and having the balls bringing it to the public. If you think he deserved the win you do you but 1 question I still have: how is the arena crowd singing the song an argument for the own vote? It's actually more about getting out of your comfort zone. You can see the story in the performance and the song itself. First he's stressed out and frustrated but at the end he finally dares to start dancing and his anxiety is set free. That's when the whole song changes to a happier mood. "Now I start dancing, like cha cha cha, and I'm not afraid of this world anymore."
Finland is the true looser for me. So small and petty is the Finnish mentality. Everyone gave Sweden at least some points, except the Finnish people, because they have such inferiority complex. 😂

Käärijä really did "unite by music". People don't even understand the Finnish lyrics yet his charisma, craziness and fun is understood even through language barriers. Käärijä is what the world needed during these dark times. Unfortunately, we were divided by juries.

This final last night was my first time EVER watching any Eurovision, and my first time hearing this song, and by god i was a different person after hearing it. Käärijä may you live forever. I'm glad the public vote (which I think we all agree should be the real decider of the winners) understood his vision.

The televotes should have been the focus last night. That’s what they should have called up all of Europe for. I still remember watching this with my friend. We didn't watch anything beforehand and didn't know any of the songs and performances. We saw him and his clothes and were fully convinced it will be one of those crazy Eurovision performances. Started bobbing our heads during the first verse and were fully dancing by the chorus. That was electric and Finland should definitely have won.

Yes, in a way. I don't consider this song to be inspired by Rammstein. They probably were inspired by another german band, Electric Callboy that has the same type of musical approach and structure. They were almost winning the German song contest from last year.

Most people don't even remember most of the ESC winners, while unique acts like Dschinghis Khan turn into memes that are still remembered 40 years later. I wouldn't be surprised if the same happens to Käärijä - everybody remembers him, not who actually won.
@DeltaSilver88 Honestly, I think that if Loreen's 2023 victory is remembered, it'll be more as an injustice. Without that massive jury lead, she never would have won. Her song is alright, I like it, but it's just not "Eurovision" enough for a lot of people, including me. As a Finn, I could have some bias here, but also... the crowd went wild with Cha Cha Cha, and the massive audience vote shot us right to second place - for a bit we were in first place before Sweden's audience points were added - so we know who the people preferred. Plus, the jury almost completely ignored Norway, Alessandra deserved more points than she got. The audiences at least appreciated her performance, though.

It's actually more about getting out of your comfort zone. You can see the story in the performance and the song itself. First he's stressed out and frustrated but at the end he finally dares to start dancing and his anxiety is set free. That's when the whole song changes to a happier mood. This final last night was my first time EVER watching any Eurovision, and my first time hearing this song, and by god i was a different person after hearing it. Käärijä may you live forever. I still remember watching this with my friend. We didn't watch anything beforehand and didn't know any of the songs and performances. We saw him and his clothes and were fully convinced it will be one of those crazy Eurovision performances. Started bobbing our heads during the first verse and were fully dancing by the chorus. Yes, in a way. I don't consider this song to be inspired by Rammstein. They probably were inspired by another german band, Electric Callboy that has the same type of musical approach and structure. They were almost winning the German song contest from last year.
To me, it's like mixing Rammstein influences with an anime song. A fusion so crazy it was destined to work.
The crowd was always cheering every time he appeared, the public really loved him.

Honestly I feel like Käärijä is gonna be the new Verka, there is so many similarities with both performances, songs, artists and even the results. They both became living legends and the most iconic 2nd places in the history of the contest. Now i hope we will see both Verka and Käärijä alongside next year!

@@Morsning Well, ESC wins don't really matter either. Most people don't even remember most of the ESC winners, while unique acts like Dschinghis Khan turn into memes that are still remembered 40 years later.
I wouldn't be surprised if the same happens to Käärijä - everybody remembers him, not who actually won.
@DeltaSilver88 Honestly, I think that if Loreen's 2023 victory is remembered, it'll be more as an injustice. Without that massive jury lead, she never would have won.
Her song is alright, I like it, but it's just not "Eurovision" enough for a lot of people, including me. As a Finn, I could have some bias here, but also... the crowd went wild with Cha Cha Cha, and the massive audience vote shot us right to second place - for a bit we were in first place before Sweden's audience points were added - so we know who the people preferred. Plus, the jury almost completely ignored Norway, Alessandra deserved more points than she got. The audiences at least appreciated her performance, though.
