Yes. All Eurovision entries must be performed in the native language, just like it used to be. The EBU needs to abolish the free language rule and return the Eurovision to its roots.
I'm not Italian but live in Italy and am slowly learning and love that I do actually understand a fair amount, but when he gets into the "rap", it's like all of my language anxiety come to life ... tropo rapido!!! Piu lentamente per favore! Sono fuori di testa. ;D

What I meant was that, in order to have a chance to win Eurovision, most countries sing in English (which I find regrettable btw) but Italy doesn't and still wins or ranks high. I never said it was a rule or anything, I was just praising the fact that Italy remained faithful to its culture and language and still managed to make a huge success worldwide.

But this does not mean that they would not play it( nearly )the same way like they did here. Watch their Sanremo performance with this song, there had to be everything live (Sanremo rules)

Let's hope more countries will sing in their languages. It is not necessary to always bring a pop song in English. And judging by the televotes, most people agree with me
I always thought it was a shame that the participants of the eurovision most of the time performed in english. Why create a show where people from different countries of the same continent have a sing-off when they all sing in english in anyways?
Music transcends the barrier of language. You don't need to understand the lyrics all the time, a different language creates a different overall vibe and feel. If anyone wants to understand the lyrics, the translation is most likely just a search on the Internet away.
I hope that in the following years, we'll be able to tell apart the countries by the language instead of having to rely on what's written on the bottom left corner of the screen.
It would be so much more interesting if everyone sang in their own language! :)

The lyrics of Zitti e Buoni are very good but I think they don't do him justice as a songwriter, probably because he was a teenager when he wrote the song. There are songs like Torna a casa, veint'anni, Coraline and more that really showcase his writing abilities. It's clear that he has evolved very much as a songwriter during these 5 years despite being very young still.
