I’m a fan of Copa mundial due to k leather comfort and touch, introduced me to football boots but moved over to Mizuno Morelia 2 as an upgrade. That said I’d take a Copa mundial over modern synthetic boots any day.
I'm 35 yo and I've never played in the copas. I'm a die-hard k-leather boot nerd, though. I've tried so many silos before but I always go back to my tiempos, modern copas, and mizuno products. There's just nothing like that leather boot feel, NOTHING. I've tried them on before at the shop but never played in them. These white ones are 🔥🔥. Might just have to get them.
The very best boot of all time. The only thing i would change would be to give it an external heel-counter (it is just my personal preferance, which does not affect how amazing these are). Many ballers in Mexico refer to these, Mizuno Morelias, Puma Kings and Diadoria Brasils, as 'the only boots you need to play football.' They are perfect. Custom 1:1 fit to the exact shape of your foot, an ultra premium, full kangaroo leather upper and perfect weight distribution without sacrificing traction If anyone is selling a new classic blackout pair and Mexico pair in US 8/MX 6/UK 7.5/JP 26, i will always buy a new pair. Contact me and i will buy, can never have enough
The ultimate pro of these Copa- regardless of playing surfaces- the peg/cleats for North Americans, are arrayed in a way that doesn't leave your feet sore on hard/firm and enough grip when on soft ground- just slab on some pretoleum jelly on the soles on wet use...
The Mania's you were talking about weren't event made in Germany, only the soleplate was glued on. So basically assembled in Germany. And they actually printed "made in Germany" onto the tongue, which was made in Indonesia. So basically a scam.
I do like a good old fashioned black boot but those fucking white ones! 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍 My opinion, you simply cannot beat a copa mundial / leather boot / puma king / mizuno etc
WOW The algorithim does not fail, and the timing too! I was literally doing research between these and the Mizuno Morelia Neo 4 Pro. Do you have any trading points to consider between the two?
Hey Josh, would you prefer a Mizuno Morelia or a Copa Mundial? Which do you think is 1) more comfortable and 2) more robust/durable in terms of longevity (especially on AG)???
MIJ Morelia 2 is one of my absolute favorites! Neither are technically made for AG, but you can get away with it. Both are comfortable, but I do prefer the fit of the Mizunos
Everyone already knows they stretch a lot, the lockdown starts sloppy and get worse, and they need to be actively cleaned and maintained with leather conditioner. And that they weigh 300ish grams dry. Here are the other cons I see noted much less often: - They easily exceed 400 grams in wet conditions. This is not trivial. With two boots, that's approaching an extra kilogram of weight on your feet. We were used to that in the 20th century, but modern boots not absorbing water is a very good thing about modern boots. - The soleplate is thin enough that you will feel stud pressure on 2G/3G artificial grass, or any AG pitch that needs renovation. - Related to the previous, the soleplate and studs are not up to modern density standards -- they're _soft._ This causes the studs to wear down very quickly on any kind of AG (even high quality AG). Despite having concials, these boots designed in 1979 were engineered for use on natural grass, and only natural grass. It's important people understand this. I see these boots recommended for AG so often, just because they have conicals, and it's bad advice.
You make some great points - esp on the weight issue in wet conditions. Critics will say that’s more of an issue with the World Cup as that’s the boot for softer ground where those conditions are more prevalent. As for the points regarding the sole unit and moulded studs - spot on too. Like you say they are not designed for artificial surfaces and the longevity of the boot is impacted as they will fail and show their wear much faster away from grass. This being said, the copa is still a great boot. It’s just not for match day for players who want a light boot. There’s a reason it’s still prominent in use by the likes of coaches, trainers, referees, groundsmen, dads kicking the ball around with their kids…..ultra comfortable, lovely fit, great feel on the ball and on the right feet, a well rounded boot capable of doing a job whatever your position.
Hey Josh have been rocking the mundial teams for years since I mainly play on turf. Is there a quality difference between the copa mundials and the mundial teams considering the mundial teams aren’t made in Germany
For those of us who do not care about weight, there is nothing better. Ultimate comfort due to the perfect fot and well balanced studs combined with plate thickness, also the best leather upper for touch
You are comparing the weight of a boot for hard ground vs a boot for firm ground. What others have studs made of the same material? It says firm ground, but I am sure I remember it saying “hard ground” in the past.
They're both classified as FG and both boots have nearly identical stud shape, length and placement. I used an example of a similar style of football boot, but compared to just about anything modern, the Copa weighs quite a bit more.
copa mundial(2024 pair) vs premier 3 (2024) pleaseee would like to know your opinion on it. i started using premier 3 like 4 months ago and really love the feel of it
Copas are much better quality boots, but also nearly double the price, so they should be. The Premier has a thinner, less premium leather upper compared to the Copas, and definitely a more modern shape like you would get from most current boots. Both are great in their own ways, but ultimately very different, so it depends on what you want/like. Personally, I'd pick Copas given the choice between the two.
@@Soccerreviewsforyou always understood the quality aspect of the copas; eventually will have the chance to wear them, but from 4 months ago to now i’m not disappointed with what the premier 3 has to offer for the price (bought them at marshalls for insanely cheap😅😄) really love the premier 3, even have a second pair for the future. Thanks for the reply!🫂 big fan of what you do; been watching since i was 14 and now i’m 23
The soleplate it generally narrower than most modern boots, however it doesn't have a lip along the edges like modern boots do either. I can only speak for myself and my own experiences of course, but your feet overhanging a little is normal for these and not typically an issue. It's more or less part of the way they're designed to fit once the upper has stretched out to the shape of your feet 👍
I almost guarantee, if youre playing in your weekend league, you cant tell a difference nor is it going to really make a difference in how you perform...so tone it down Messi.
Sunday league player here… wore speed boots for years but got me a pair of copas in Jan, easily my favorite pair of cleats I’ve had. I agree although they are heavier if you’re quick on ur feet it’s not something you notice much of anyway.
biggest con of the black copas is people think you are a referee
How is that a con? Lol. I see players rocking black copas and never assume they are referees
Referee here...this is why I had a turf and indoor version a while back. They were both like $110....$180 seems crazy

What do you guys recommend for sizing? I like my boots very snug. I've heard half to even a full size down.
@@eg715 I went half a size down but if you like them really snug even a full size down is fine. They wills stretch for sure that’s why

The Jamaican copas are the best colorway in my humble opinion 👌 😌

I have both. The comfort and lighter weight are the key factors for me. Copa Mundial is comfortable, but Morelia II MIJ is next level.
@@Soccerreviewsforyou does the soleplate and studs of the Morelia II give better grip on FG? As a sprinty lad i just dont like running with the Copas.

9:05 such an underrated issue
I would definitely still wear them if they had a little more aggressive soleplate for FG. They have an unmatched touch still.

@@Soccerreviewsforyou The rubber weighs more than the plastic. Whether it is an advantage or a disadvantage is up to the consumer, I suppose.
Why on earth are they so heavy? Not much structure, and going by the heel area, there's not much padding. 320g for a football boot is too heavy
I would assume it’s the older style, thick plastic soleplate that accounts for the extra weight
even so, it is interesting that back in the days (30-40 years ago) they were the lightest football boots on the market
The description of them on adidas site say k-leather forefoot. You think it’s true? Does it feel like they’re slacking now?

Still full size down for the mundial indoors?
No, those are closer to fitting true to size. You can get away with going half a size down if you want a tighter fit for those.
