Just got mine 🇲🇽 ! Copa Mundial run long consider always getting a size down . The long laces have a purpose and that’s to wrap around middle sole plate to maintain elasticity on the middle upper . The folded tongue is to prevent knot from effecting ball direction when striking the ball .
Two things to note: basic copa mundials dont have a removable insole, so these arent 100% the same as the black&white ones. Secondly there is a third option with the tongue, folding it inward to hide it and getting a really clean striking surface. Its gonna stay out of the way like that :)

Hi Noah, great video ! Sorry for the long commment but just wanted to get your opinion on this. I feel like I may be inbetween sizes in boots and unsure what ones to get. In most boots I think I’m half a size smaller than you (tekela, adidas boots, Mizuno) but with Nike hypervenom 3 for example I have to go the same size as you because 8.5 US feels too small. Is this due to the boot or Nike as a whole, (as there US to UK sizing is a whole size instead of a half like on other brands) thank you !
Get both if you can. Yet, if you want performance and comfort while it lasts, get the asics. (game boot) If you want quality and comfort get the adlers. (goat boot)
I am agog at how Adidas has hiked the price all the way to 180 USD. Adidas is even greedflating the price of referee boots now. 😑Not worth the modern pricepoint. All k-leather is of course great, but these boots weigh well over 300 grams when they get wet, they stretch a full size, the leather quality is good but not Mizuno/Asics/Adler caliber, the studs wear down extremely quickly on any kind of AG (won't last long on hard natural pitches, either), and the outsole has no responsiveness. A boot designed in 1979, in other words. But I do love that colorway. edit: Well, an inflation calculator is telling me 100 bucks in 1998 is worth 190 today, so apparently I'm wrong. And now I've made myself sad.

Got the Germany colorway, and I love them (though I’m considering replacing the comically long laces). Definitely go a full size down for sizing.
Replacing the laces is a good idea in these. A lot of Mizuno boots also have kind of crappy stock laces.
Or go OG and loop them between rear studs for maximum lockdown, you will find them just long enough if you lace tight ;)

Yeah the minimum for copa’s is 1 full size down. In a store I tried 2 sizes down and they didn’t feel tight at all.
Been wearing these boots since I was 5 . Now nearly 30 and will only wear Copa Mondial in matches. Beautiful boots

Sizing is a weird one mate. The best practice I've found is using the cm sizing chart - that's much more consistent
how does your wider foot fit the more narrow sole plate? especially when the sides of your feet spill over!
