    One of my first watercolor palettes was a 24 by Crayola. The colors are beautiful and very inexpensive. I would recommend them over the cheap ones from Michael's any day! Even though I own most of what you are showcasing, I still go back to the Crayola palette every so often! I bought mine at Walmart. For starting out, that would be my recommendation! Thank you for all your videos... Love them!

      Crayons is great for regular painting but has a tendency to bleed on bible pages 😉

    Lindsey, this video was so helpful. I’ve been really scared to try the H2O colors in my bible. I’ll try now! Thanks!

    Thank you Lindsey. I have been using Gesso on all my pages that I watercolor. I couldn’t believe the difference without Gesso! Another frustration has been “squashed “ because of your videos! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👍🏻🤗

    I just bought a set of watercolors at Target called kid made modern and it came with 2 paint brushes. I really like the colors and no chalky residue. There are 36 colors for $9.99.
    Just an FYI.

    Going by Prima's lightfastness charts (I couldn't find them for a while) the lightfastness for most of their colors is really good.

    You drink your paint water?!! Hilarious! The messy princess had a video the other day showing how she finally had to move her coffee cup cause she wanted to keep dipping her brush into it. So funny. Thanks for the tips. I'm loving this whole series.

      I try really hard not too because some water colors do contain toxic pigments in them but it has happened lol

    Thanks Lindsay, for these Tip Tuesday videos! I'm wondering if you ever work with the Tim Holtz distress stain sprays. If so, I'd love to see a video on that. Maybe they bleed through the Bible pages and wouldn't work???
    PS I bought my first devo kit recently (BTW4G) and my 4 year old made me take a video of her doing an unboxing "like Winnsay," she says. She's done it a few times now where she goes through every product. I guess I watch your videos a lot 😅. Anyway, thanks again!

      OMG I love it 😂 I've never tried the Distress Spray Stains...I imagine they would bleed pretty heavily since they are dye based but could be used with page prep. I have used the sprays from Heidi Swapp and they do bleed.

    THank you for the review. I was so confused about what watercolor to buy as my main focus is on bible journaling.. I ordered the kuretake set. Thank you very much❤️ I’m from India so most of the well known brands are too pricy here

    Have you ever tried or heard of Daler-Rowney tube water colors? Found at Wal-Mart, so inexpensive, does not bleed through, no odor and comes in various size packs. I like the tubes so I can get various consistencies. But does not say Artist Grade or acid free soo..idk.. I'm new to painting in my Bible. Love to get all your tips!

    Great video. I have a question....i have the same Keurtaki Ganzi paint set as you do. Are the pans in the shimmer colors of Keurtaki Ganzi the same size? I am wondering if I can pull some unused colors out of the set to place the shimmer colors in?

    • @LindseyDecor
      @LindseyDecor  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, they are the same so that would probably work!

    What do you think of Windsor Newton?

    • @LindseyDecor

      I’ve never tried them before.

      I got them and gave them away. Great paints high quality, they vary in transparency and they are listed as to the opacity. I gave them away because for the price I paid I hated the colors. They are artist paint colors, I did not have the variety like I wanted. I was able to buy the same set of Keurtaki Ganzi paints that Linsey has for less money than the 12 pack of Windsor Newton. Hope that helps. (I got mine at Hobby Lobby and used my 40% off coupon that you can get on line)

      LindseyDecor I was honored to have had them handed down to me from my Mother (who was an Artist, I recently lost her from Alzheimer’s disease). She has lots of Windsor Newton watercolors in tubes, and a small travel case of them, along with some ina couple open pan like palettes (not sure what brand those are). The pigment is really vibrant and I’m sure they are wonderful, but I haven’t heard much about them watching any UTubers out there.

      @me04100 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Rebecca M thank you! I received these from my Mother who recently passed away. She didn’t bible journal, but was a true artist. I treasure them, and have lots in tubes (if they don’t dry out...she kept them in a fishing tackle box!), and I have a white travel case of them, along with a couple bigger palette like trays full of her watercolors. I also have her oils, pastels, pencils, chalks, charcoals, inks, brushes, books, easels, etc. It’s like I have her “Art life” all around me. I am blessed. I’ve got all her art journals, notes, and things from where she taught classes, etc. I will treasure these things always. Hopefully, I can put this to good use as she did..

      @msjr1765 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      LisaDawn wow! Well you definitely have the color choices. I would have kept them if I was an artist like your mom and was able to get all those colors. I remember the nice thing about this brand was the variety of opacity, you could have a yellows in 3 or 4 different levels of opacity. I am not an artist, but I gifted them to someone in my church who is an artist. I remember you though, your mom sold her paintings....you have a bible page with her hand print. I am the one who is caring for my mom who is dying from cancer. You are blessed to have gotten her paints. They are definitely top grade.

    Please try one of the Silver brush company brushes. No 4 is good....they are so so worth it and can make a non artistic person suddenly look OK. Well worth the investment. I started with the largest Gansai Tambi have the gold pack you have and the Finetek, although have not used them in a bible but stunning for something like The Wise Men on a card...I must return to playing in my Bible which is where I started...hate ghosting. So am a bit of a pain.....of course in more ways than one. I think I have some of the Finetek on Instagram. Mogs4
