hi Lindsey, I'm new to bible journalling and gelatos, so I found your video really helpful. Thank you for sharing your creative process and/or reflection on the word. Blessings.
So beautiful! I love that you have been using Tip-ins lately! I have yet to do one but I'm determined to try! Thank you so much for your amazing videos!!
Hi Lindsey! Just "discovered" you a couple of weeks ago and am playing catch-up on all your videos. Love them - just the right amount of chat, lots of very clear instruction and demonstration. Just BTW, after burnishing the gelatos, you can use a heat tool (gently) to actually melt the color into the fibers of the paper. Works on any fibrous substrate.
Thank you. I am curious about working with vellum. I haven’t done any of that! Journaling nearly 3 years but nothing with vellum and I just got a Large Print Inspire Praise Journaling Bible and it has a lot of vellum pages in it! I sure don’t want to destroy it. I need to learn which products work well and which ones to avoid.
Could you have mixed water with a white gelato to make the splattered star effect at the end or would that not have worked as well? Love this entry! One of my favorites of yours!
This is so beautiful! I think will have to try this technique. Very lovely result. Also, the more I see the tee-pee stamp set, the more I love it. Time to try "Sonshine Stamp Co"! Thanks for sharing. I enjoy your videos very much. Take care!!
They do if you don't get all the pigment burnished into the vellum. There were some areas where I applied it too heavily and didn't rub it in enough so I had to go back and buff those areas more.
Three questions: 1) could I just use stazon ink a get the same look, but obviously without the ink shining? 2) can you print on regular velum or does it have to be printable velum? 3) what kind of printer do you have to use: inkjet or laser? Thanks for a response 😄
+User Unknown yes you could use StazOn but the black may not be as intense since it won't resist the gelatos. I'm not sure that the ink would dry on regular vellum but I haven't tried it. I have both types of printers but typically use my laser since the printing is waterproof. 😊
LindseyDecor thank you for your reply, you are so knowledgeable about all this stuff and im learning so much from you, as you are my favorite youtuber to watch for bible journaling. Your sooo talented and very sweet. Thanks again for all the hard work you put into these videos. have a blessed day. 😁
Hi, I've been printing with inkjet onto vellum for years with no problems. I've used different weights, different manufacturers, everything has worked fine. I'm just careful to allow the ink to dry before handling, usually takes only a couple of minutes. HTH
Beautiful and great for bibles with only 2" margins, where you want a whole pg. picture. I'm not sure of the idea of that machine, can't you just hand stamp the. Velum, as. I don't have a printer to print out on paper or velum, but I guess I could hand print
Hey lady - you said that the gelatos won't transfer from the vellum to another Bible page - I am new to gelatos (thus the reason I'm rewatching all of your gelato videos) and so I'm wondering, is color transfer an issue with gelatos on Bible pages or is it because of the vellum in this particular instance?
+Haley Tryon you have to make sure that the gelato is completely buffed in. I even go back over with a paper towel to pick up any extra residue that might be sitting on top of the vellum
+Lori McCleskey as long as you have them burnished in well. Areas where I didn't scrub it in enough still transferred so I went in and made sure all the gelato was rubbed into the vellum.
It may be because I'm using a printable vellum...I'm not sure if that helps it to grab onto the gelatos better. You also have to apply quite a bit to the vellum and really burnish it in.
So pretty and vibrant!
Love how it turned out!!!
I still love this
Beautiful page.
Awesome to use lyrics & stamps & gelatos.

+Sandy Navlyt thanks! I think this is one of my favorites! I just love that adorable stamp set!
Could you have mixed water with a white gelato to make the splattered star effect at the end or would that not have worked as well? Love this entry! One of my favorites of yours!
The white gelato isn't as opaque as I would like and so the stars wouldn't have stood out as much.
This is so beautiful! I think will have to try this technique. Very lovely result. Also, the more I see the tee-pee stamp set, the more I love it. Time to try "Sonshine Stamp Co"! Thanks for sharing. I enjoy your videos very much. Take care!!
i love it!!
love it!!! where you getting stuff from .
Everything is linked below the video 😉
Oh my gracious, this is awesome! I'm excited to try this, tfs
thank you for posting i just learned so much !!
It's beautiful. Do you think a pointed cotton bud (Q tip -is that the right word?) would work like the fantastix?
I was thinking about trying that while I was using these. You may have an issue with the "fuzz" when trying to get into smaller areas.
Thanks. I might try it and see if the fuzz gets in the way. Not sure how widely available fantastix are in the UK.
Beautiful! Do the gelatos smear on the opposite page of your tip-in?
They do if you don't get all the pigment burnished into the vellum. There were some areas where I applied it too heavily and didn't rub it in enough so I had to go back and buff those areas more.
Great! Thank you for the tip. I love the way your vellum tip-in turned it. Such a blessing! :)
I’m just getting into bible journaling. Where can I get or of those stamp boxes? Amazing video by the way
The stamp positioning tool? I’m now using the Tim Holtz one...there is a link on my blog (lindseydecor.com/products-i-use/) under the TOOLS section 😉
Thanks girl 😊

AWESOME!!! Love love love the techniques! tfs xoxo Glo

You can hand stamp but velum can be a little slippery so the stamp positioning tool helps everything stay crisp and clean.

Is sunshine stamp co still open? I think their website is down
Unfortunately they closed their shop a few years ago
Do the Gelato's dry then?
+Lori McCleskey as long as you have them burnished in well. Areas where I didn't scrub it in enough still transferred so I went in and made sure all the gelato was rubbed into the vellum.
I tried this and the fantastics just wiped the gelato color right off. I'll have try this again. Any suggestions?
