It was interesting seeing Bernie's first wife Maxine reaction while "Tiny Dancer" was being formed. The song of course was written about her, the blue jean baby, seamstress for the band.

You are damn right. Rocketman was an atrocity in my book and many other fans since the early 70s. Chronologically ridiculous and shoddy. But Furnish thinks himself so artistic what a joke that was.

So neat to see the beginnings of Bernie and Elton collaborating to write "Tiny Dancer"! I enjoyed that a lot! And seeing (presumably) the girl who inspired the lyrics!
Bernie is a poet. Elton writes, arranges, plays and sings the music. He brings Bernie's words to life. But he doesn't even need words to compose or play. Listen to Funeral For a Friend or Song for Guy.

Been a fan of Elton John since he released Goodbye Yellow Brick Road album and me and my mates listened to it all the time. Never get tired of hearing his music in all the various forms. The older stuff I particularly like and discovered it later on - Madman and Tumbelweed albums. I bought the Friends album round about 1978 from a US import store in Manchester - love that too.
Elton John s music will be played many years from now on a par with Elvis and the Beatles and the Stones ..
Thank you, Diego for posting this awesome video!
So neat to see the beginnings of Bernie and Elton collaborating to write "Tiny Dancer"! I enjoyed that a lot! And seeing (presumably) the girl who inspired the lyrics!
He isn’t a writer, he is a great musician and a performer. Give the credit to the true writer of his songs.
Bernie is a poet. Elton writes, arranges, plays and sings the music. He brings Bernie's words to life. But he doesn't even need words to compose or play. Listen to Funeral For a Friend or Song for Guy.
60 Years On live... best Elton performance ever?
Read the book! It's bloody brilliant! What a wonderful colourful life ! ☮️❤️
I didn't realize 60 years on was his song. I had never heard of it but I was listening to his moscow performance and it had syo and it was amazing
PURE PERFECTION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Love, 60 years on
OMG, this is SO GREAT! Thank you so much for uploading this! Wish I could have seen it in '71 (But I would have been 6 at the time, so I don't know how much I would have gotten out of it). 😏
Me too! I waa in the first grade!
Awesome documentary thanks 1st time ever seeing this.
Completetly unaware of this documentary. MAny thanks
So cool to hear the segments from Tumbleweed Connection. I love all of his recordings but that one always speaks to me coming from a country music town.
Greg07623 Tumbleweed is a classic masterpiece. My all time favorite album and probably the album I have listened to the most over the last 40 years.
That’s a wonderful album, and it has some true gems on it. Burn Down The Mission, Love Song (fabulously beautiful), Come Down In Time, Where To Now St. Peter, Amoreena, and more!
At 9:40 you get the raw breakdown of 'Tiny Dancer'.Absolutely frickin' brilliant!
Oh dear, what a treat. Thanks for posting.
fascinating, the prolific talent already overflowing
Tumbleweed Connection is his best album - most people only listen to hits though, even those that were never so popular until the movie....
These live versions of the Tumbleweed songs are freaking amazing.
His playing piano gives me goosebumps
I love watching a genius at work
First time seeing Bernie interviewed, now it's more relatable why he shuns the public. Also fascinating hearing Tiny Dancer's creative process between BT & EJ. 69 Years On, had not heard until this interview. Thank you for sharing this vid!! Legendary both EJ & BT are and that EJ throughout the years consistently honered BT for his spectacular lyricism!!!!
thank god for PAUL BUCKMASTER!!!! RIP PAUL
He was a session man on those old tribute late 60 top of the pops vinyl's. Also , he was playing on an old TRex vid then he advertised for a songwriter and the rest is history.....great man.
