Wow! Never thought I would get to hear Bernie. Loved him, through Elton since I heard his lyrics through Elton in the 1970s. When I heard "Your Song" I was hooked on Elton John. I really like "Someone Saved My Life Tonight."
He’s so talented & interesting to listen to..just love these interviews. I’m so glad he lets interviews pick his brain. He seems like he’s doing very well. ❤
As a song writer, Bernie is the one who makes the most since to me as a lyricist. I love all his subliminal lyrics. Even though he probably doesn't always know what they mean. But I'm sure he's happy so many sing along.
Really enjoyable interview featuring one of my heroes. Bernie’s honesty makes him a great interviewee and I really enjoyed listening to him. I will definitely buy the book!
“I’ve seen them, I’ve been there with them, I can tell you all you want to know, something touched meeee and I was only sleeping, wouldn’t you, would you like to go” such a great album. I 💯 agree with you ✌️💜🎵😊
@@soul4music79 Exactly! Caribou was a profound sonic statement, especially for its day -- and still stands up. Elton and Gus went along with know-nothing press critics (who are not musicians) because the album was recorded so quickly under time pressure, IMHO.
I’m just about to finish Elton John’s autobiography, and would very much like to read Bernie’s book to compare. If he has as much as half the sense of humor of Elton John, I’m in for a treat.
BERNIE IS LEVELS ABOVE THE SONGWRITING CROWD. HE ALWAYS CARRIED HIMSELF TO THE HIGHER, QUALITY STANDARD. HE ALSO CAN COME DOWN TO EARTH EFFORTLESSLY. HE CAN FARM, HORSE RIDE AND LIVING A SIMPLE LIFE. HERE'S TO YOU BERNIE & ELTON. I HAVE BEEN A FAN SINCE I WAS 11. I AM NOW 62. ❤❤❤
48:00 Oh I beg you, Bernie, please don't blame the music fans that they don't understand what good music is 🤣I grew up listening to Sacrifice and hated Elton John. Now I'm watching your interview because it was only after the Rocketman movie that I discovered that Elton could play the piano. I searched for Elton John Live on TH-cam and found Bennie and the Jets Live. Since then I've been listening to Elton John's classic albums every day and these are his albums from 1970 to 1976. I love Elton Naw more than anyone in this world. Your lyrics were good until you started writing the so-called "songs". And Elton was able to write special melodies on it.
Wow you didn’t know EJ played the piano you must be very young. Thank God I grew up during the 1970s the music started taking a down turn in the 80s now it’s just a lot of noise to me.😢
Right. And seems like this guy can't get past GYBR, he keeps bringing it up even as Bernie is trying to speak about the albums in chronological order, starting from the first of EJ's albums but he kept jumping in with that. He was getting on my nerves. I was like shut up and let Bernie talk 😒
One of the greatest lyricists ever.
Ticking, Mona Lisa’s and Mad Hatters, The greatest discovery…. All master pieces.
Those are my top two Elton John songs.
Their lyrics are so beaautiful.
The Brown Dirt Cowboy in the flesh. Great interview. One of the best writing teams of all time! Philadelphia Freedom!
This man helped me through my formative years with his inspirational lyrics ❤
learned english with his songs

don't recommend it, really underwhelming, writing books isn't the same job as lyrics
The greatest ❤
So glad he mentions "Sacrifice' it hardly ever gets a mention but I have to agree I think it's one of their great songs!
love this guy...have an autographed copy of Scattershot and love his prose!
Always loved Bernie and what him and Elton have done!
*he
It is easy to see how he and Elton meshed so perfectly...
Caribou should get more love. It's between two masterpieces but I see it as a essential bridge.
Amen ❤
Caribou is an excellent album.
My first album.

I was a teenager when GYBR was released. As a long-time fan and lover of BT's lyrics, that was great - thank you!
Love this interview. All about Bernie, an intelligent, prolific and sincere poet.
Superb❤
I only have one EJ album - Captain Fantastic. It is fantastic, Bernie’s lyrics on it are wonderful. A very talented writer.
I think "Hercules" is a great song and never gets mentioned or played as much as it should. It's a great Rock & Roll song.
Levon is the song that I remember as a classic.
Thank You🙏🏽🏄🏽♀️❤️💯🔥
I would absolutely love to sit and have a convo with Bernie Taupin. I really enjoyed his memoir.
I’m just about to finish Elton John’s autobiography, and would very much like to read Bernie’s book to compare. If he has as much as half the sense of humor of Elton John, I’m in for a treat.
The Greatest Discovery is my favorite lyric from Taupin.
My favorite Taupin John song is the one without a title. "Just words and a tune.."
This Song Has No Title😊
Fantastic! Thanks for sharing the vid!
Bernie Taupin just recently named to the Rock Hall of Fame!
This song has been with me since I got the Goodbye Yellow Brick Road album back in the early 70's and it still feels the same today.
Roy Rogers...
I wish someone would have asked if Bernie is ever surprised by the melody Elton writes to his lyrics.
he speaks in song #a
What a trill to meet my idol and brown dirt cowboy @bernie taupin 🎼
trill??
The book was a great read. A very interesting life Bernie has had. Very talented in more ways than one. I can recommend this book. A must read.

From the end of the world to your town
Such a gentleman
Great interview. A friend of the flag.
You don’t have to announce him by name just Mr. Lyrics works
Off topic, even though I find his talent brilliant, since I was a child I have always found him HOT 🔥
❤❤❤BERNIE COULD OF EASILY LIVED THE ROLE OF THE SUBJECTS HE WROTE ABOUT.
He deserves to win the NOBEL as Robert ZIMMERMANN did
as does Bob. fixed your grammar.
@@colinjames2469 sorry i am italian
❤❤❤ MY DAD AND BERNIE COULD OF TALKED ENDLESS HOURS. MY DAD HAS ALL OF MARTY ROBBINS CATALOGUE
In the thumbnail, is that Marlon Brando on the right? (wink)
I will reserve judgment, but would like to ask what everyone thinks….On a scale from 1 to 10 how would you judge the interviewer?
5...don't care much for the interviewer. Love listening to Bernie
Interrupts too much

Great, but the interviewer needs to stop talking over him!!! Jesus, let the man speak!
