Once you come home after knee replacement surgery, there is a variety of equipment that can be helpful as you heal and recover.
In this video I discuss specifically equipment that will help you be safe and effective with completing your daily activities safely and independently. Of course, there is also plenty of exercise equipment available, too.
Not everyone will need each of these pieces of equipment. Be sure to take advantage of second hand equipment and borrowing when applicable.
First, you want to consider assistive devices such as a rolling walker, crutches, and / or a cane.
I big piece of equipment for icing and cold therapy, especially for early on after surgery.
For footwear, you can get a sock-aid and a long handle shoe horn.
For the bathroom you can consider a raised toilet seat, a toilet frame with grab bars, and/or a bedside commode. You can utilize a shower bench or chair, and a hand held shower head.
For the bedroom, consider a bed rail. You can also consider heat sources, compression garments, and more.
