The Tao Trio could also be referenced by "The Three Pure Ones" in Taoism, representing the three essentials of the body: Jing (body), Qi (spirit), and Shen (heart). And in a way, they sort of symbolize it. Kyurem only being a leftover *husk* is the Jing, Zekrom who represents *ideals* is the Shen (cuz ideals or desires r mostly from the heart), and Reshiram who represents *truth* is the Qi (the truth stems from logical thinking)
Uhh, a minor correction, Jing (精) = Essence, Qi (气) = Ki (Energy), Shen (身) = Body. So the correct assumption would be, Shen = Kyurem. Zekrom would fall in line to Qi instead and Reshiram = Jing. Because in Chinese Taoism, Qi is more akin to energy in the surroundings and all humans could inherit Qi. But of course Qi is mostly could not be found, because in the end, Qi is more of a philosophical thought. Jing, however could be found, cause all humans have essence.

Plasma the fourth state of matter. The missing link of the three dragons base on matter created by Arceus. I am guessing they might create a new type since there aren't any existing typing that can represent that. I also think that's why"Team Plasma" has it's name.
on one hand, i kind of like how we never got to see the complete dragon, it adds a layer of mystery and has an interesting end to the story. but on the other hand, i really hope we have some way to form the full dragon in the possible gen 5 remakes.
Being able to form the complete dragon completely ruins the theme in bw, it's that there is more than just a single correct answer and way to do.things, which is why the dragon split in the first place. Being able to reform the dragon means there was a single correct answer the whole time, just one single point of view. Plus the devs said they never even designed the original dragon so I highly doubt we'll ever see it.
Yeah there is one correct answer that's why the two brothers stop fighting. They realized both truth and ideals are needed. Also Kyreum wants to merge back onto one.
I used to want to too, but I think the Original Dragon is meant to symbolize the unattainable, so I kind of think it might miss the point if they did add it
we can roughly tell what the dragon looked like by looking at kyurem, because it's pokedex entry is "This legendary ice Pokémon waits for a hero to fill in the missing parts of its body with truth or ideals." and the missing parts were replaced by ice.

Considering Unova was the first region NOT based on Asia, I think the Western alchemy inspiration is way more interesting and fitting. Plus like you said, the theories are pretty similar in a lot of ways, anyway. I really love Gen 5 lore... That politics bit made me laugh XD Btw I just wanna share something: I had read somewhere that yes Reshiram was Yang, Zekrom was Yin and Kyurem was Wushi, and it came with a supposed actual story surrounding the Yin Yang, for there to be harmony specifically the 2 main Dragons needed to get along, Reshiram(Truth) on his side as Yang and Zekrom(Ideals) on his side as Yin, if the 2 were at peace than Kyurem could come and complete it, he would be able to align with them and so transform into his Black and White forms, which would be the little white circle in Yin(black) and the little black circle in Yang(White), however because of Zekrom/Yin/Ideals/Black and Reshiram/Yang/Truth/White constant fight to try to take over the other, Kyurem(Wushi) was left in his weaker form because he need them to get along in order to transform into his 2 more powerful forms and bring balance, so once he had enough he thought "if they are going to keep on fighting, I shall bring an end to everything and then there will be no one left to fight" and that's what Wushi is: the emptiness.
Also they all have some cool nods to each others design. The shiny one's get their eyes color swaped and their body has emphasized color of their power(gold elements on Reshi and bluer Zekrom) Kyurem has yellow eyes which(Gen 1? Being the 3rd base color in art?) Shiny has purple(mixed blue and red colour?) And their secondary types make theme another trio of Fire, Electric and Ice(Legendary Birds)
Say what you want, but for me the base inspiration of resciram an zeckrom will always be blue-eyes white dragon and red-eyes black dragon😂😂 (Very good video tho👏👏)

I kinda wish they got contrary as an event exclusive hiddwn ability, it would be extremely busted with draco meteor spam but it just fits their theme so well
You brought up some really good points about truth and Ideals as an Active vs Passive perspective. It actually reminded me a lot of the Serenity Prayer: "God, give me grace to accept the things that cannot be changed, (Truth / Passive) the Courage to change the things which should be changed, (Ideals / Active) and the Wisdom to know the difference." (Balance) As for Kyurem and Wuji, it reminded me of Captain Barbossa in Pirates 1 when he says, "I feel nothing." "For too long I’ve been parched of thirst and unable to quench it. Too long I’ve been starving to death and haven’t died. I feel nothing. Not the wind on my face nor the spray of the sea. Nor the warmth of a woman’s flesh. You best start believing in ghost stories Miss Turner. You’re in one."
I can't shake the feeling that part of the inspiration for these three was nuclear energy. Reshiram was fusion, Zekrom was fision, and Kyurem was nuclear winter
Or it's probably a nuclear reaction. Reshiram and Zekrom represent the heat and electricity produced by the reaction, while Kyurem represent the coolant to keep the reaction stable.
Reshiram(Brings in the heat) for 2020. She's gonna be the first female president of the USA. She really knows how to fire up the crowd and roast her opponents.
I always thought each Pokemon had multiple sources of inspiration. Blast Ouse is a sea turtle and a water cannon. I never thought of Yin and Yang as opposites much less good and evil.
I just thought of something insane. What if the move Tri attack originated from this original dragon? Think about it, it's a move that either freezes, burns or paralyzes its opponent, it can only be done by a Pokémon with 3 heads(save for Type: Null/Sylvaly). It just adds up too well.
WanderinEvie I think the first two regions inspirations aren't that deep. You could argue Gen 2 is where they started to branch out ideas. But gen 1 was rather simple with no overall theme.
So my first Pokémon game is Pokémon black version because I thought red Hiram was cool and I like fire, but after the whole passive and active part, I realized, I believe in truths more over ideals, which is crazy to me!

Oh great, been waiting for this one. Edit: The comment section will be a dumpster fire thanks to politics you added Edit 2: Like I said (dont read this thread for your safety)
I'll note, of course, that Wuji isn't actually "empty" per se, but rather "limitless". Translating to "Without ridgepole", the Wuji is the transcendent energy, not merely the absence of Yin and Yang. As well, the Wuji, by limiting itself, gives rise to the Taiji, the Supreme Ultimate, which then in turns gives rise to Yin and Yang, and the interplay of Yin and Yang, the active and passive energies, causes the five Taoist elements, the Wuxing, Earth, Water, Fire, Metal, Wood. There's a strikingly comparable concept in the Western mystical tradition as well. In Kabbalah, the Ein Sof, "without end", is unlimited and undefined(as defining something inherently limits it, separating it from all other things). Within the Ein Sof, the desire-to-create, the Ohr, Light-without-end, arises, and then Ayin and Yesh, which describe an Is/Is Not distinction. From these, the ten sephiroth or "emanations" reveal the Absolute to the material world. Kabbalah, mind, is not strictly Western, as the Hebrews were always essentially a fusion culture, but it was profoundly influential on Western mysticism and alchemy. The comparison with Tao is not one-to-one, but all things considered it's remarkably similar.

Well, I think it has to do with the fact the Pokemon universe is a world filled with mythical creatures yet it has a great understanding of science, a fusion of science and magic, which is essentially what alchemy was.
@@monhunterz5430 But why do they hide it? To notice half this stuff you have to research alchemy in depth. They never really attract attention to what they clearly put a lot of effort into.
@@pbtenchi They aren't hiding it, per-say, but, instead, are simply using this subject as a means of inspiration for their pokemon franchise's ideas. They would'nt explain it because they may not feel the need to. I mean, Lockstin's on the case, 24/7, so who knows if we need their explanation. lol

Jing, however could be found, cause all humans have essence.

on one hand, i kind of like how we never got to see the complete dragon, it adds a layer of mystery and has an interesting end to the story. but on the other hand, i really hope we have some way to form the full dragon in the possible gen 5 remakes.

Btw I just wanna share something: I had read somewhere that yes Reshiram was Yang, Zekrom was Yin and Kyurem was Wushi, and it came with a supposed actual story surrounding the Yin Yang, for there to be harmony specifically the 2 main Dragons needed to get along, Reshiram(Truth) on his side as Yang and Zekrom(Ideals) on his side as Yin, if the 2 were at peace than Kyurem could come and complete it, he would be able to align with them and so transform into his Black and White forms, which would be the little white circle in Yin(black) and the little black circle in Yang(White), however because of Zekrom/Yin/Ideals/Black and Reshiram/Yang/Truth/White constant fight to try to take over the other, Kyurem(Wushi) was left in his weaker form because he need them to get along in order to transform into his 2 more powerful forms and bring balance, so once he had enough he thought "if they are going to keep on fighting, I shall bring an end to everything and then there will be no one left to fight" and that's what Wushi is: the emptiness.

the Courage to change the things
which should be changed, (Ideals / Active)

As for Kyurem and Wuji, it reminded me of Captain Barbossa in Pirates 1 when he says, "I feel nothing."
"For too long I’ve been parched of thirst and unable to quench it. Too long I’ve been starving to death and haven’t died. I feel nothing. Not the wind on my face nor the spray of the sea. Nor the warmth of a woman’s flesh. You best start believing in ghost stories Miss Turner. You’re in one."
