Terrarium domes are basically just greenhouses on steroids, and here in Canada we rely heavily on greenhouses for agriculture. If you think about it, zoos are basically open terrariums. So while doing this on such a massive scale would be the megaproject of the century, I can see smaller bio domes being built to preserve endangered species, grow crops in harsh climates and maybe even as habitats on the Moon and Mars. But seriously Gamefreak, where's our dang space adventure Pokemon game? I wanna go find strange new Pokemon on other planets and moons throughout the solar system. I even came up with a fakemon Martian form Arron line design that has a rusty face, more angular red eyes and crystals of dry ice jutting out from its back.
I would assume that, for the Gothitelle line, them living in a cave makes no difference to whether they can see the stars, as the stars displayed on the dome are likely not enough for them. They might actually choose to live underground where they cannot see those false stars.
hear me out. what if they are in those caves as a nod to the Oracle of Delphi who lived in a TORCH LIT CAVE. the Oracle had torches as the only light when people came to get the future told, and they were tripping hard from the cave fumes and herbs that were burning.

My theory for bruxish is They over hunted the coastal pokemon since they didnt have a natural predator. And rather than send all the bruxish back they decided to see how well it could adapt to similar but sifferent environments. Since pokemon dont care for salt vs fresh water. Alomola? Idiots got stuck.
The Biome architects probably saw how Bruxish ate the corals they put and killed many Water Pokémon inhabited in Coastal Biome. So to control their population they placed them near to water spiders whose second typing is their bane and Totodile to eat them if they ever get too many.
I figured that the reason Minior hangs out in the cold biome is because that's where the highest altitudes in the dome are located. The peaks of the polar biome's mountains are taller than those in the canyon biome, and thus closest to the sky, where Minior wishes to return.
Venomoth being in the savannah is probably just cause its association with the kanto safari zone, same goes for a lot of the gen 1 pokes in the savannah biome.

Something like Stoutland (terriers in general are more tolerant of cold than other dogs that have been turned into Pokemon) would work more instead, even if Lillipups would need a lot of snuggling with their parental figures due to having shorter coats.
The other commenter pointed this out but I will add; a brachycephalic dog of any size will not do well, as the air can barely get into their lungs as it is.. They actually run the risk of overheating enough for their paws to sweat, and then you get frozen paws and exhausted lungs. Poor fellas really aren't built for... any environment, really. But yeah... Granbull and Snubbull are not having a good time there pfpfpf
I saw the biome as one big open zoo. Only you can interact and catch everything. As far as the Gohtica line, it's possible they chose the cave because they can't see real stars. So they are like "What's the point of being outside if we can't see anything. Might as well go underground."
11:15 as an axolotl owner, axolotls definitely don’t like warmer temperatures, the water has to be around 70 degrees Fahrenheit or the axolotl will get infections
1:48 The pokemon is based on cells. Like animal cells, it reminds me on how body parts or cells (Like sperm cells for example) must be kept in refrigeration so the cells won't "die". I couldn't think of the right word
It could also be loosely based on tardigrades with how some its Dex entries mention how it can survive in any environment, even space. Cells are definitely the dominant basis though
Triggerfish are also known for their super special dorsal fins, which is where their name comes from. They literally fold inside their bodies, and when the fish finds a nice crevice while being chased by a predator, they can pop the fin, which usually has a nice sharp spike on the tip, out so that it gets stuck against the coral or rock, and then lock it in that position with a fancy lever structure, making them almost impossible to be pulled out of their hidey hole. After the predators have given up, they can just fold it back in and go on their merry way.
I personally think it's a missed opportunity to not have Buneary or Lopunny in Kitakami. -And not just because they're some of my favorite Pokémon- So in Kitakami, you have this forest area called the Timeless Woods. They are pretty much a wholesale reference to The Heartwood from Pokémon Legends Arceus (to the point that music from The Heartwood verbatim plays when you get to snap pictures for Perrin's sidequest), which in turn is the Hisuian/past version of Sinnoh's Eterna Forest from Diamond and Pearl (with The Heartwood's music being a remix of Eterna Forest's). Buneary and Lopunny are found in Eterna Forest and The Heartwood, and Eterna Forest is in fact the ONLY place where you can even get Buneary in Diamond and Pearl. Now, despite being a reference to The Heartwood/Eterna Forest, there actually isn't really a Pokémon from those locations that can be found in Timeless Woods, aside from maybe Seedot or Graveler? Even Ursaluna is normally not found here, despite this being a setup for Bloodmoon Ursaluna. So it's really odd that they're making this wholesale reference to Eterna Forest/Heartwood without including any of its Pokémon. I think Buneary and Lopunny could've been included just fine due to their connection with Eterna Forest. The only other Pokémon that would've been more perfect are Scyther and Kleavor, but those are in Blueberry's Terarium already.
To be fair, Meowscarada is also based on a masquerade so maybe the Roserade line didn't want to come live in the same region where said weed cat are found in because they did not want to get out-staged by them.
@@treybrzezowski3259 crabominable I think gets hate due to competitive reasons but bruxish is more like its forgettable and the design looks weird to most
Southern and Eastern African reefs actually contain Clown Triggerfish, which may be why Bruxish is in the savannah. Obviously that water isn't a reef, but as a lot of the other pokemon there are based on African natives, that could be why Bruxish is there as well. Also, Chespin is a mole. And can learn some ground type moves. Also, thunder punch by TM!
If we get an african region and have it be near a coastline there, then there should be a regional bruxish based on the Clown Triggerfish and maybe go either water/fairy or water/ghost type due to the coloration of the real animal as well as sad mimes that use black and white paint as well
Chespin is probably in the electric cave because its seeds are like the gems in the cave. Hard organic capsules that are brimming with energy. They probably enjoy being in a domain with similar properties to themselves. The Gothorita line being in Torchlit Cave seems sensible enough. Just because they like the dark doesn’t mean they don’t some light to see. Also candles and torches are used in occult rituals so they’d probably appreciate already having some around.
I suspect they put Alomamola in the Canyon biome because they already had Luvdisc in the Coastal biome and they didn't want to confuse players because they look so similar. Had a bit of an interesting video idea made from a discord argument. I found it weird how all pokémon were hatched from eggs, and decided to dived them based on how they were likely to reproduce, all based off the pokémons inspirations and educated guesses. However there are some pokémon that I wasn't comfortable or able to think of an answer. The hitmons, throh, sawk and ralts line were the some of former, with clefable, magcargo, sableye, and chimecho being examples of the the latter. Was wondering if you and your team could use your big brains and make this idea the best it can be
I think there is actually a differentiation made between fresh and salt water Pokémon Even though they call all live in all types of water, they are mostly consistent in what areas they are found (at least since gen 2 or 3) Poliwag, for example is exclusively found in fresh water since gen 2
You can find out in the post-post-post game. Once the Peacharunt DLC is done, you can invite Nemona, Arven, and Penny to the BBA Break room for rematches. They can interact with certain members of the BB Elite Four (as well as Carmine and Kieran) if they are presently in the room.
13:40 Two things, awesome pause on my part number 1, number 2: Maybe an ancestor pokemon in Legends: X/Y that shared a lot of common themes with Stunfisk. Idk why stunfisk, just 'cause it's the only other muddy fish that comes to mind.
For Torchic, as a chicken farmer, I would say its because most breeds of chicken are actually very cold hardy! Most chickens are comfortable lounging about in weather around 35-60 degrees, and are unfazed by snow most of the time as long as they have a dry place to roost later. But hot weather is actually really difficult for them since they overheat quickly and need constant access to shade, water, cool dry places to spread their wings, so summer and hot climates are very difficult for them to deal with!
For Gothitelle being in a cave, archeological remains found in or near the entrances of caves have been hypothesised to be used for astrological/astronomical uses. For example, Lascaux Cave, where some have interpreted certain cave paintings to be prehistoric star charts.
Maybe they put Chespin in Chargestone Cavern because they want to make a Grass Electric variation in a later game. I mean, Chesnaught already has spikes on its shell to act as electric pylons.
Or it's because Chespin's based on a hedgehog and hedgehogs are known for burrowing underground. They probably burrowed down there like Drilbur and made it their home.
The only ones i can possibly think of a answer for is gothita and chespin gothita because its cannon they don’t like seeing the future so being in a cave would fit them for hiding from the stars and chespin cause of what it could evolve into they could be testing there defensiveness
In fairness to chespin, they needed to diversify the starter locations and I can’t think of any other starter who’d want to live in the electric cave. At least he’d be resistant to the electric types there.
I’ll say the fact that some Pokémon in the polar biome only spawn in caves could reference how most caves in polar areas tend to be way warmer environments comparatively. (Antarcticas network of caves that are warm enough to hold life being a good example)
The Gothitelle line inhabiting Torchlit Labyrinth could be referencing oracles and soothsayers who sometimes are depicted in caves where they sequester themselves in order to get clearer visions of their predictions of the future or other readings.
5:19 The Camelidae family actually evolved in North America and spread to South America and the Old World. At one point in recent history, there used to be Camels in the high Arctic.
My bet is that Bruxish being in the Savanah is a reference to the Goliath Tigerfish of Africa, found in the Congo River and in Lake Tangynika. Big fish with big teeth
Chespin evolves into a mon based on Giant Ground sloths, maybe that's why they got put in the cave. Ground Sloths are responsible for gigantic basically-cave burrow-networks in the Americas, many of which are still around today. Still feels a bit silly though.
I do think if can be argued that Charmander is in the wrong place when it comes to the savannah biome. There's dex entries saying Charmeleon live on mountains (source: DPP/BDSP entries and BW/B2W2 entries) and while I don't doubt there's evolutionary families that would be better off in different biomes, I don't think Charmander's line would be one of them, so I think it should have been placed in the canyon biome or at least somewhere rocky. It would have been easy to switch Chespin and Charmander around and have them both be perfectly happy.
When I first found torchic in the polar area my immediate thought was about Chinese golden pheasants in snow. Probably not intended at all but it made sense to me like that lol
I assumed the Polar biome is also the place for fairy pokemon that are not more flower/plant related, so that is why Snubull is also there. Maybe it is just tjat I thought it might get alomg with Milcery, and maybe if you count Alolan Vulpix. You mentioned Snubull and Granbull are timid, I can see they might have travelled around until they found the Polar Biome not to be too cramped or busy, while other pokemon took other areas more fittingly.
Chespin is Clements Pokémon in X&Y, the Electric gym leader. Chespin being in the Electric cave is likely a nod to that. Also Chespin evolves into a mid stage with a rocky move rollout and a final stage that's a fighting type paladin. What better place for him to grow up training than in the mountains with high defense type rock Pokémon and with many other fighting type Pokémon in the mountains? Also Chesnuts don't really suit the other 3 biomes.
Hey, i was womder if you could cover the name origins of this other monster collecter called My Sing Monsters? Its a really fastinating game and while the focus in it isnt fighting I would love to see you cover it.
fun fact I have to share bc I just learned it, apparently axolotl is not actually pronounced ax-a-lot-al, but ah-show-tal! it's an Aztec word so it's not actually pronounced the way we think it should in English. someone else cursed me with this knowledge and now I can never un-think it every time I see mudkip lmao so now I must pass it on to all of you~
Horsea is pure water type. Seadra is dual water and poison type. Their final evolution, aka Kingdra is water/dragon type. Thus your statement having dragon's blood to survive is inaccurate. BUT I think they are there as an Easter egg for the next Pokémon game for Horsea and Seadra to drop the water type and receive the ice type in a new regional form.
Yes, and even if the fish with big name doesn't do it, Bruxish burrows beneath the sand, radiating psychic power from the protuberance on its head. It waits for prey as it surveys the area as for Ultra Sun Pokédex the entry, thus it makes sense it lives in shallow waters as well
Snubbull and Granbull might breathe better in the Polar Biome. I've seen quite a few dog experts who claim that brachycephalic breeds do better in colder houses with ac because of their breathing problems.
I think Bruxish inclusion to the Savannah biome may be a nod to African Cichlids that have over a 1000 colorful species and found in only two lakes in Africa. And ther are only two bodies of water in the biome that Brixish appears. Also, African Cichlids may not have powerful teeth, but they do engage in mouth-to-mouth combat for mating purposes 15:1115:11
What if snubull and granbull are a kind of reference to pets that are left out in the cold by uncaring owners? I dont think that game freak would think that hard about it but maybe
I think Horsea line should be in the box. Horsea just a sea horse and Seadra's dragon type doesn't make it more resistant to cold. Dragon-types are literally known for being weak to ice. For Gothitelle line, the idea could be based on mystical figures being found in caves in ancient times like oracles, sorcerers, and witches. Especially when it's torchlit? You know like a ritual site? I'm not sure how you not make this connection 💀.
My theory for the Gothetelle line comes down to maybe Cave Witches Like Master Matoya from Final Fantasy and the Hags from Skyrim and any other adjacent witch that fits the bill
Bruxish lives exclusively on Ula Ula’s rugged routes 13, 14, and 15 and the Secluded Shore, where there are very few people. Maybe Coastal has too much going on? It likes rocks and hates people, after all.
The amount of Fire types in the Savanah biom is just ridiculous and concerning! Most have open flames! Charmander, especially as its dex entries talk about it setting fields and brush ablaze with its tail. The Savanah biom should be an ashen wasteland!

I wonder how Arven, Penny, Nemona, and Team Star would interact with the Blueberry Academy students, especially the Elite Four.
You can find out in the post-post-post game. Once the Peacharunt DLC is done, you can invite Nemona, Arven, and Penny to the BBA Break room for rematches. They can interact with certain members of the BB Elite Four (as well as Carmine and Kieran) if they are presently in the room.

Two things, awesome pause on my part number 1, number 2: Maybe an ancestor pokemon in Legends: X/Y that shared a lot of common themes with Stunfisk.
She blue berry on my dome until I academy
For Gothitelle being in a cave, archeological remains found in or near the entrances of caves have been hypothesised to be used for astrological/astronomical uses. For example, Lascaux Cave, where some have interpreted certain cave paintings to be prehistoric star charts.
It really is unfair how hard it is to get the Starters in the Dome
Maybe they put Chespin in Chargestone Cavern because they want to make a Grass Electric variation in a later game. I mean, Chesnaught already has spikes on its shell to act as electric pylons.
Or it's because Chespin's based on a hedgehog and hedgehogs are known for burrowing underground. They probably burrowed down there like Drilbur and made it their home.
@@DSmith3279 True, but this is Pokemon and that would be a simple answer.
@@NeroSpore Hey, Occam's Razor and all that. 🤷♂️
5:47 Because the bulldog fights in Alaska and the Klondike during the gold rush? Maybe?
i was going with bulldog having the issue of the short face making them overheat easier, so cold is preferred
The Gothitelle line inhabiting Torchlit Labyrinth could be referencing oracles and soothsayers who sometimes are depicted in caves where they sequester themselves in order to get clearer visions of their predictions of the future or other readings.
4:48 Warmpth? lol
a lot of Pokémon in the sabana area are Pokémon that also are in the safari zone from kanto
I think the Gothitelle line makes sense because the torches are like candles, which is used in a lot of psychic and magical practices
8:02 Diggy diggy mole made me spit out my soda. Thanks Lockstin
I'd love a Meowstic video 😊
Tell Gnoggin I Said Hi!👋
12:11 is that a Legend of Avantris reference?
The Gothitelle Line in Sw/Sh: "yay! We survived the purge!"
Paldean region: "we won't miss next time!" ☠️
5:19 The Camelidae family actually evolved in North America and spread to South America and the Old World. At one point in recent history, there used to be Camels in the high Arctic.
I think Bruxish in the savanna biome might be a reference to Goliath Tigerfish, another gigantic sharp-toothed predatory fish native to Africa
0:08 glad I'm not the only one that noticed that lol
5:48 Thats Croc music!
My bet is that Bruxish being in the Savanah is a reference to the Goliath Tigerfish of Africa, found in the Congo River and in Lake Tangynika. Big fish with big teeth
axalotles actualy much prefer cooler low 60s water not warm
Yeah fr
Chespin evolves into a mon based on Giant Ground sloths, maybe that's why they got put in the cave. Ground Sloths are responsible for gigantic basically-cave burrow-networks in the Americas, many of which are still around today. Still feels a bit silly though.
"How do you think it hardboils its egg?"
I thought Blissey's eggs were Softboiled.
Pulls up picture of psychics using torches "why would they be a torchlit cave?"
Swap torchik and charmander then ...
When I first found torchic in the polar area my immediate thought was about Chinese golden pheasants in snow. Probably not intended at all but it made sense to me like that lol
I think Bruxish might be a reference to the many Chiclids found in Lake Victoria
Could Goth be living in the cave because it doesnt want to see the future? 😢
"Starry skies thousands of light-years away are visible in the space distorted by their intense psychic power."
1 can argue that alomomola is in a deep sea biome seeing that the entire terarium is under water
I feel Chespin might be training itself to resist all sorts of things for when it fully evolves. It can't be a tank if it can't withstand electricity
Camels, or camel ancestors really, were originally from the Canadian high Arctic and walked into Eurasia using that ol' land bridge.
My Bruxish theory is that it's a reference to the African Goliath Tigerfish. Can thank Casual Geographic for introducing me to that nightmare
Yes
Gothitelle is there because we shiny hunters needed a good location and an easy way to isolate them to hunt. 😊
Great video!!!
It would be interesting if you could look into where all the regions are in relation to eachother based on climate and biomes
This is a little dark but for Torchic, Chicken Nuggets can often be frozen
fun fact I have to share bc I just learned it, apparently axolotl is not actually pronounced ax-a-lot-al, but ah-show-tal! it's an Aztec word so it's not actually pronounced the way we think it should in English. someone else cursed me with this knowledge and now I can never un-think it every time I see mudkip lmao so now I must pass it on to all of you~
I think Squirtle deserves a mention because he's located in canyon but not coastal biome really he could be in both
Loving the Croc background music
Bruxish has actually grown on me over the years. Don't ask me how I'm not quite sure myself
in the anime (in one of the last seasons with Ash) a Kingdra lives super far down in a trench, so i think it would do okay in the Arctic biome
Forget everything. You're telling me that the bulbus top fin on bruxish opens up like a flower?!
People complained so much about legendaries being in a random cave in Scotland, but no one complaining how they did the same to three starters
You’re stretching what would make sense. Torchic in the ice biome would not survive. Something with a higher body temp has to work to keep it high.
I think Bruxish inclusion to the Savannah biome may be a nod to African Cichlids that have over a 1000 colorful species and found in only two lakes in Africa. And ther are only two bodies of water in the biome that Brixish appears.
Also, African Cichlids may not have powerful teeth, but they do engage in mouth-to-mouth combat for mating purposes 15:11 15:11
I like this style of video and the terrarium is definitely one of the coolest locations in pokemon!
My theory for the Gothetelle line comes down to maybe Cave Witches
Like Master Matoya from Final Fantasy and the Hags from Skyrim and any other adjacent witch that fits the bill
Chespin is where it is as a Clemont anime reference, obviously.
Bruxish lives exclusively on Ula Ula’s rugged routes 13, 14, and 15 and the Secluded Shore, where there are very few people. Maybe Coastal has too much going on? It likes rocks and hates people, after all.
Lockstin putting a paper cutout of a Bruxish into the Idiot Box implies that he doesn’t have a Bruxish plush. Honestly, I don’t blame him…
I wonder if for meowstic the reason for the canyon would be for safety of itself and others if espurrs accidently release their powers
The amount of Fire types in the Savanah biom is just ridiculous and concerning! Most have open flames! Charmander, especially as its dex entries talk about it setting fields and brush ablaze with its tail. The Savanah biom should be an ashen wasteland!
I'm guessing that Bruxish was put in the savannah biome as a reference to african cichlids!
