One really important pointer I have is please just stick to official product. Do not buy “mystery packs” or “mystery slabs” from these third party companies. At the end of the day, nothing you pull will ever be to your benefit as these companies are there to make MONEY. Buy etbs, boxes, promos, any official product. Don’t fall into the trap and happy hunting
Not true. I've gotten alt arts out of the packs
Couldn't agree more!!! 👏
@@billbill9499you just got lucky luv
It really depends on who you buy from. Those seen at retail stores are absolute garbage and no one should spend a dime on them. However, the last mystery pack I bought was from Danny with his phanny packs and I got a shiny holo rare Charizard GX from Hidden Fates!!
@2girls_1up yup I agree I got a moonbron from a evolved skies pack
thank you for being a Pokemon Creator who's not screaming
This xD
Agreed! I try to do the same lol
amen
@@adengillum6267 if that sub was you I appreciate it!
Creator?
honestly this is the best generation to get back into pokemon card collecting! With the pull rates being the absolute best so far!
The pull rate isn’t great with 151 honestly! If u want decent pull rates I would recommend Crown Zenith
"Pull rates being the best so far"...? You obviously haven't opened many sets in the last 12 months then.
I hate this generation all these new sets suck these new pokemon are sucky
@@Barnyholmes I dont understand how people keep having bad experiences with 151 🤔Every time I open any 151 packs, I always get at least 1 hit every 3 packs
@@realbillymiller1011 I've actually been opening pack since mid pandemic 😅 and I'm comparing whole generations, not just individual sets. With scarlet and violet era you can find every set out on shelves, that provide amazing hits rates! Yes the later sets from the sword and shield era are still available and provide great hits rates. But with them being in a completely separate generation, you would get the feeling of missing out (i.e. FOMO) on the mid through earlier sets. Which most of those sets are not easily accessible and/or completely out of their price range.
Thank you for this video, I just got back into collecting because of 151. Have already made some great memories because of the community. Pulled the charizard yesterday and helped a little boy start his own 151 binder collection with all the bulk.
To those starting out the lingo and all the different rarity levels can be overwhelming.
I stopped the video and bought that trainer box the instant you showed that snorlax card. That is art. That is exactly why I want to get back into tcg.
Just dusted off my childhood collection (about 500ish, mostly cards from '06-'09) and I had so much fun sorting them all again! I've been slowly adding them to a deck tracker. I picked up a binder and added in all my favourites since they've been in a box for a decade or so. I fully intend to collect one of every pokemon, but I'll need way more storage space lol.
I started collected this month after buying the 151 etb for myself as a Christmas present just to "dip my toes back in" as I used to collect when the original base set was released. After not following Pokemon cards for 20 years, I have to say that as a beginner collector, right off the bat it feels good getting multiple cards with a foil/holo attribute to them in every booster pack! But it certainly feels even better when one of them happens to be a full art card! I'm definitely loving how much the cards have evolved since the last time I handled them, and I'm excited to see where this new hobby goes! Thanks for all the great videos, they're incredibly informative!
Same! Then I went for a UPC and din't regret it. Now I'm in
I think this is the perfect starting video. Honestly listening to your intro reminded me why I love opening packs and being in the hobby.
Thank you!! This was really informative!
This video is so helpful. Introduced my son to Pokémon last year. He’s now very into them but I had no idea where to begin on the cards. This video is great.
As someone who's gotten more into the hobby since 2020, I've definitely accumulated a pretty decent amount of cards. And I'm very happy with what I had the priveledge to add to my collection.😊 Speaking of amazing cards, I opened more Crown Zenith today. My local Walmart had one more booster bundle in stock and it was absolutely stacked! I pulled 2 more chase cards, which now means I'm only 4 more cards away from completing the set!
For anyone out there new to the hobby I definitely suggest Crown Zenith if you want to get spoiled with pulls!
Have you tried VSTAR Universe boxes as well?
yooo thank you for all the info all the time Jake!
151 is one of my fav set. The artworks are stunning
Just recently got back into collecting this year bc of 151 had so much fun opening OG Pokémon cards
I bought my first ETB back in December just to rip some packs open and forward to 3 weeks ago i got myself a binder and sleeves and start collecting 151 set my only problem is 151 is not popular where i live and expensive so it will be abit hard to complete the set but so far so much fun and satisfying experience cant wait to complete my whole 207 cards 😍
Totally agree! ETBs are the easiest way to start collecting. Not only do you get a promo but you also get additional goodies with it and the packs. Their price tag is also not that high compared to booster boxes, so it's overall a good "keep it sealed" item as well 🎉
I used to collect Pokémon cards as a kid because I’ve always preferred the card game but unfortunately as I’ve moved so much then, a bunch got damaged. Thank you for this video, it really helps me know where to start again ❤️
Thanks Jake. Great tips
Thanks so much for this info! I grew up watching pokemon but I’m fan only of the original 150, so glad which ones I need to buy!
What a brilliant video. Great advice, simple and practical.
I think I have every ETB since Sword and Shield released. Such a fun item. Good value, I display them all even while opened, put the common cards in the boxes, use the sleeves for good cards then put in a binder.
Love it👏🏼🔥
Maybe a video on selling cards. How to package ect.
I've been waiting for a new video, you're super likeable, thanks for the content !!!
Awesome job man, thank you for doing a video like this. Especially being a new or collector it definitely helps keep up the great work.
Hey! Just recently got into collecting. How do you store your cards that you put in toploaders? Mine are currently just sitting inside an ETB.
I would have bought the 151 etb but, there was a paldea evolved etb for sale at 28 dollars and it was a fun set to open.
Amazing Cards!
Maushold it’s stunning!
Id recommend starting by getting a high quality binder and also some normal sleves before picking up cards.
Could you recommend one binder please?
Could you recommend one binder please?
@PabloLopez-tz2zq I use palms off gaming ones but vault x are also very nice too
@@PabloLopez-tz2zqI’m getting into the hobby for the first time; I decided on a Vault X 4-Pocket to start off. I’ve also heard that Ultra Pro’s products are pretty good, too.
Never picked up an ETB, but will for sure with temporal forces really excited for that set
Wow i was debating whether it was the Mew 151 premium or this, i feel that this vid tipped the scales to this ETB :D Thank you
Thanks 😊
That Blastoise EX edition and trainer Nessa helped me beat one of the most difficult electric decks I have ever had the privilege to play against. That Blastoise is like my baby in my water deck. Not unbearable but have at least three cards to get him back and a less strong Lumineon V to buy me time and a Cryoganol to build up energy in my water. That Blastoise EX though -- sent my water deck to a different level :').
I just purchased this pack, i will pick it up on the weekend.
My step brother had pokemon cards when i was a kid but i never had my own set
As someone who stopped playing/collecting In 2019, this was really informative, I just went and picked up 2 silver tempest trainer boxes... I think the cards in that set look cooler than the 151 cards ❤
The 151 binder pack is also quite good for beginners if you don’t have a binder yet. Also comes with 4 packs
How would you organize a pokemon set in a binder? Would you put the reverse holos in a separate section?
Picked up an ETB this weekend on a whim. Pulled two ex’s, full art Blastoise and Giovanni’s Charisma, and the SIR Zapdos and Charizard. Couldn’t believe it.
The 151 idea is so cool I like the new ones but I’m definitely gonna start the 151 set for the og ones
I feel like the universe brought me back into collecting at the best time. It was right before 151 came out in Japan. Its ben really good to me too - 4 SAR Chirizards!!!!!
Cheer~~~bring or gather together (things, typically when scattered or widespread).😊
Quick question regarding the sleeves. I bought penny perfect fit 64x89mm sleeves to put cards in and then save them on the binder but are there any sleeves just like this (clear and perfect fit) but rigid like toploaders to save them on binder?
I find toploaders so big and penny sleeves nice on fit but less protective.
Thanks and nice video! 💜
What is the soft sleeve brand you use? What fits closest to the themed ones so it doesn’t stick out? I’d like some clear ones to show the 2024 championships decorations on the back of the cards that I grabbed :)
I got back into with a 151 UPC. Mind u I stopped collecting in the Sun and Moon Era. These new sets are next level
Hey guys, i just started collecting and my question is, what cards do you put in hard toploaders and what cards you dont? And those who go in the toploader, do you single or double sleeve it first?
Great video and thank you for taking the time to explain it. I just recently got an itch to relive the Pokemon glory days of the 90's and just started with 2 box sets of the 151 Original Box set. I have 117 out of 165 cards with those two boxes, which is pretty nice. Let say I were to collect all the cards, including the ultra rare cards and every single card, that is common, reverse holo and holo for each card. Would that be worth a lot?
For anyone starting out again: this is definitely not average pull rates. Opened 38 boosters with a friend the other day, got the same number of "valuable cards" as in this video...
It's still fun when you get one, but just keep in mind that most boosters you'll be disappointed and you won't even notice cards that are not holo (like the guy in the video).
Get 6 pulls, and a mis cut card. Two double yellow star trainers all from 9 pack of a elete trainer box, and then rest were holos!
I just got into these since I love the games, my boyfriend and I hit a toedscool full art holo and a secret rare fighting energy from the first couple scarlet violet packs we opened!
And to the newcomers starting their collections and depending on how many cards they want to collect. Imo, I may recommend getting a card binder that can hold 1k cards. If you want to be a hardcore new collector. But for casual collecting I may recommend a 4 or 9 page first
I just bought 3 etb’s and an ultra premium to start collecting again. I just pulled the full art charizard!
Just buy singles. Opening paks might be fun, but 90% of the time you end up with nothing that you wanted. Focus on what you want. Don't fomo and save for what you want if you need too. Quantity over quality.
Agree. I am finding this out myself. I started last month, so I started with Temporal Forces. Big mistake. I will buy some packs and buy singles too. I doubt I’ll invest in the more expensive cards; which is where the packs will come in handy I suppose.
Ok im out the game. Need help. Bro i got a crazy pokemon story for another day but man im back! I stopped collecting in the early 2000s lost it all when my gram passed! My grandmother got into it an opened a booster with a double holo charizard back in 2000 here in Maine crazy she wouldn’t give me one cuz she knew they were cool! Ill never forget it i wonder where they ended up. Either way i need some guidance
That’s boring asf bruh
@@michaelhowes7514Have fun gambling your life savings away, buddy.
@@coltonblood2776that was the one of the most made up stories I’ve ever heard 😂😭
Is this box set something I can hold onto for 10 or 15 years and see the value go up?
for collecting would you recommend the 151 english version or the japanese version?
As of extra or repeated cards that arent hollow or full arts, what do you normally do with it or how do you keep them.
Question… I’m getting back into collecting Pokémon but I’m only really wanting to collect Pokémon from my childhood like back in the 2000s or older what are some good packs/ trainer boxes that come with the oldies if any ?
i pulled the charizard from my etb yesterday on my first pack too
Your videos butter My biscuits thank you
Why are none of those Chars sleeved lol
I just came for the pulls!
the non sleeved charzards in the beginning
I like graded slabs is there any websites that you recommend that I buy from
I started with paldean fates 😊
Hello I’m new to the hobby and I was wondering should I collect the normal cards too ? Besides holos I mean .. because I like the normal ones too 😊
whats the difference with this one and the Ultra Premium Collection
I just got back into collecting and it’s been 20 years since I last collected. I still had my old collection with a 1st gen charizard. I had no idea how much that was worth and a guy tried to rip me off saying he’d give me 500 for it. Glad I looked it up, it graded a 10 and I just sold it so I’m feeling good. Time to invest some money back into collecting, what should I get?
new to collecting, does 151 have a booster box with 36 packs? or is it strickly the trailer box?
I found so packs of pokemon card in my room at my moms house that I bought and never opened.
Should I sell them closed or open them?
I’d like to collect exclusively trainer cards, any tips?
not new to the hobby, but still a great video
I opened so many cards on my channel and 151 is the best in my opinion.
What do you do with a mis-cut card holo?
I really like the 151 set but it's sold out every where that is safe to buy from so pretty bummed out I found out about it a year late
I will be honest, I started to get into Pokemon really late, at the age of 21. As a kid I didn't have the means to buy video games and whatnot, so as I got older and got a job, I decided to try it out. But I must admit, the cards I mostly collect are all not even that good, I just enjoy the art and how cute they are 😅😂
How likely will this get another print? I’ve been umming and aaahhing about getting back into TCG for months and finally dropped £400 on every 151 product today (ETB, UPC, 10 mini tins, binder, poster set and the two EX boxes) and now I’m worried that I won’t be able to get to complete the master set if they stop becoming available this year. Stock here in the UK seems to be rare at the moment and now I’m scared I’ve wasted money starting this set!
Bought my first 151 product an etb and pulled the secret art charizard
What avenue and what street can I find the Elite trainer box? Also what state is it in in America.I’m don’t know how to say it u know like Manhattan or Staten Island?
After the etb and all the promo products, what do you recommend on how to keep collecting 151. I have never seen the booster bundle, or it’s always sold out. Do you just keep buying the etb?
Why not just buy singles?
I am always scared that the boosters are resealed. There are some places that sell cards way cheaper but it makes me always wonder how they do that. Is there a way to tell if a booster is resealed?
In short, go buy stuff. (Preferably at or below retail)
If i dont have much money, whats a cheaper pokemon tcg pack i can buy?
If I buy boxes in Belgium, Will I get English cards or local cards?
Where can I buy the elite trainer box?
Is nowerdays in every pack a holo
I only want cards with the large-size artwork. They don't have to be full-art, but I'm mainly going to be collecting for the artwork -- so I don't want the classic colored-frame cards. How can I avoid those?
Why there was a cut bevor highrare booster?
where do you buy this?
What's the best site for card pricing?
I stopped buying boosters and just buy the cards I want for my collection.
I am sick of having 1000 bulk cards for finding 5 cards I want that I can get even cheaper this way.
Opening boosters is of course more fun but you can save so much money.( depending on the cards you get)
If you have a local card stop in your location, you can trade in the bulk stuff
First step is to take out a loan.
Pokemon cards are so expensive these days thanks to resellers and scalpers. The funny thing is, they drive the retail price up because of the high demand but the actual card values are going down because there are so many out there.
Where did you get it
Do you have a video on the type of cards that exists? I don't even know what to search for or call it...
I've collected Magic The gathering, but never pokemon since 2002 or so, and a lot of the terminology is lost on me.
Holo, reverse holo, ex, stars, so on. It'd be nice to learn what I'm looking at when/if I start up on Pokemon. It feels like there's 10+ different ways 1 card can be printed. If you haven't made a video on it, if you have a bunch of Charizards, that might be a way to show alternate art or however it may be printed.
I don't know. It feels very overwhelming. Great day to you!
cant find any supply anywhere except local card shop selling loose packs for $9-10. insane. Target out, walmart out, costco out. where do you even find supply of this????
Thinking of buying my first ever box looking at Pokémon 151 booster box Japanese version or should I get the normal English one
Japanese
Where do you guys store these more rare/valuable cards? I pulled Lugia V 186 from Silver Tempest pack and I sleeved it and put it in a top loader, but now I dont know where to keep it and its just in a random box lol
Get a binder, get it graded, or display it on a shelf in the top loader.
This vid was like attending day 1 at pokemon card school. Not that thats a bad thing, this will be very useful for new collectors. 👍
Where is a great place to know how valuable your cards are?/what to go for?
I didn’t even realize the holos aren’t as valuable for example.
Also, how do you know what boosters to get?
So I couldn’t pull a charizard in this? Very new to collecting
recently dusted off my collection I have in a binder circa 1999
I'm new to Pokemon cards. Last year I bought something called the "Trainer's Toolkit." The box is gold and black. Is this an ETB?
It's not an ETB. It's a box released once a year that focuses on giving players staple cards for the trading card game
What should I buy today?
I haven't purchased cards since the late 90's and I just pulled the trigger on the 151 ETB yesterday out of fomo on this nostalgic series.
Your video was very informative for new comers, thank you.
Where would be the best place to purchase the 151 ultra premium collection? I am skeptical of the deals I've seen on them.
