Squirtle Pokemon Centre. Bulbasaur Best Buy. Snorlax Pokemon Centre. Eevee Pokemon Together. Pikachu Pokemon Together.
@@WattoRips I always lay my English sets out based on the Japanese numbering. This allows the black star promos to sit in their natural numbered slot rather than having them out of sequence in the back. That just a general rule i follow, doesn't always work out. Each set has its quirks! I've seen about 20 different ways of setting up a 151 expert set and none are wrong!
Hey man, long time pokemon lover. I collected the cards as a kid, but unfortunately lost them while moving due to a fire and my father confusing them with a bag of garbage.....20 years later after watching this video ive decided to start collecting again beginning with this set. Cheers bro.
@WattoRips unfortunately it was a full set minus the blastoise and it still hurts to this day looking at what they go for in good condition, even in rubbish condition actually haha, but a new adventure awaits.

151 is what got me back into pokemon card collecting, loved this set! Don't have the complete master set but I do have the complete pokedex and a bunch of the most rare and valualable secret rares. This was such a fun experience, maybe if they do something like this for future generations I'll get into collecting those as well :) (Still hoping to get my hands on one of those special illustration rare charizards though, you lucked out!)

391 Total cards! (392 if you want to include metal Mew but I put that and oversized Zapdos in their own spots on the inside of each binder wall) And I've also completed the code card set (I think). 7 of them. Pack, UPC, Alakazam, Zapdos, ETB, GameCentre ETB and Poster Collection.

Missing snorlax from Pokémon center etb. It has the Pokémon center stamp on it. Also squirtle with pokemon center stamp and bulbasaur with bestbuy stamp. I also had to master this set because of the nostalgia. It was great

Promos are not part of the set tho… besides some promos come with 4+ different stamps and it just make the card uglier, they are better without the stamps
@@J_pearce01 well did you know that every energy has 11 different variants? Normal card, modern holo and pixel holo, and every holo can have different amount of swirls up to 5? Meaning every energy has 11 variants times 9 or 10 energy types, so if you really want to be the perfectionist you need 100-110 energy cards
@@rage9667 people really only consider there to be two different energy holo types for energies so that’s what I have. Plus there’s only 8 energy types in 151 lol

@@WattoRips Yes I have all the promos in 151 master set. As well I have two another master sets and that is Celebrations(2021) and Pokemon GO(2022). Celebrations I finished in March 2024 and Pokemon GO in April 2024 almost on my birthday. Both Celebrations and Pokemon GO with all promos.

There are also promos for the squirtle from pokemon center and there is a scarlet and violet 151 promo bulbasaur. You could get the GameStop charmander to go with the EB games one if you wanted every single one.

Dumb question but for a master set do you use a non holo commons and rares with reverse holos, holo common and rares and reverse holos im just trying to understand this set got me back into it

@Wattorips do you have any tips on collecting the vintage sets (base set, base set 2, jungle, fossil and team rocket)? I am unsure about buying cards from car boots as I don't want them to be fake. I also don't know if it's worth buying vintage cards from card shops. Any advice would be appreciated.
Yeah it is really hard.. I'm currently doing the same. Defs try shops and certified ebay stores. That's are a great place to start. Also if you want , you could buy graded cards that have a very low grade like 4-6 that still look decent for your binder. U will find sometimes they are cheaper than the raw price! But you have to crack the card out yourself of course but at least you know it's real cause it was graded. I think just researching and meeting trusted people in your scene is good though. There are usually good people around. Also watch a youtube on things to look for on fake cards. There is a bit of a checklist that should keep you safe! That's all I can think of. Nice set, if you care about all the promos i think you are technically missing the squirtle Pokemon center promo, best buy bulbasaur promo and the pikachu and eevee poke post pokemon together promo. Also the pokemon center snorlax promo.
mate i'm about to start collecting the SV151 set. i am a 90's kid who grew up watching pokemon and had the original base set mega deck with a rubber band around them (card sleeves what?) haha but now as a 32 year old adult, i wanna get back into again like a brand new reset. i can only get 3x3 card albums so is that ok?

This same thing happened to me in 2020 when I found out what the evolutions set was (have a look at it, just the base set redone) and then look at me now I’m on TH-cam buying every set haha. I’m excited for ya and I’m sorry for your wallet! Yeah a 3x3 pocket might be enough just. It’s not enough for the Japanese 151 but! If you wanted to be safe a 4x3 might work better if you want to get every card for this set. I have a palms off gaming link for 10% off in the description of this video. They have every size binder! Noticed other comments mentioning the best buy bulbasaur, pokemon center squirtle and gamestop charmander. Also there is a pokemon center stamped snorlax promo in the elite trainer boxes purchased from the pokemon center. You got both promos if you bought the ETB from pokemon center. Lastly there are pokemon together stamped pikachu and eevee cards. I will have all of these . . . . One day. I pulled the full illustration wartortle in my second pack of 151 🤪 Have only opened 12 packs and have got 2 Erica's invitation full illustration too. Maybe she is trying to tell me something, I dunno

Just looking at Master Set, are you going after the Energy Variants? There is the Cosmo Foil and then the HD version of the Energy. HD version as much rarer though, there was an article on pokebeach about it.

Good idea! I will remember for my next one thanks! I think this one was 6x ETBs, one of each collection box available and 3x cases of mini tins. Yes defs possible! they also announced some restock for next year I think! Lost of japanese as well and that's getting a reprint if you wanted to try for that instead. I use @palmsoffgaming sleeves always! And binders. There is a 10% discount link in my description if you want to try those ones! depends where you live but it's getting pretty hard now! I would try get what you can to open and have fun they potentially by the rest as single cards at this point. Perhaps try one of the newer sets if you want to open it all yourself such as stellar crown or twilight masquerade or temporal forces would be a fun good start! Thanks for watching!
Yeah depends where you are. I see 151 loose packs in card bot machines and I've seen zapdos collection boxes and etbs around too as well as the UPC still at game stores! I usually just google the product and click near me and see what's available. EB games randomly have booster bundles too! Thanks for watching!

How does an American go about getting that EB games charmander? Other than eBay? eBay can be so sketch. Also there a pilachu and eevee exclusive from the UK. It’s from the pokepost there and has Pokémon together stamp in gold lettering. Also don’t know how to go about getting them
Incredible set up! What’s about the Bulbasaur 151 stamped promo? Did you mention that one? Also, I had the toughest time with the reverse holos…. I still haven’t found Erika’s Invitation, Dodrio, and Kingler. My local shop doesn’t want to invest time in selling me those three because they stopped buying bulk. I’ll eventually have them through a trade or something.

Anyone going to brake the news about the PC promos.. I love the video! But fr curious since you mentioned wanting to get all of the promotional cards if you will be getting the other retail promos Squirtle (Pokémon center promo) and Bulbasaur (Best Buy) got one in the states similar to the EBgames promo. In my masters, that I ended up collecting all of the promos, including the Pokémon center, ETB, which comes with the illustration, rare Snorlax, but with a stamp . Once I found out about the EB games promo, I have been wanting to get my hands on it. I think it’s technically the last card Im missing now

Several variants are missing to qualify as a master set. The Stamped promo Bulbasaur & Squirtle and the Gamestop Charmander. (Which is different from the EB Games Charmander) and the Pokémon Together Stamped Pikachu, and Eevee promos. Plus the alt art Kangaskhan, which is similar to the zapdos and alakazam alt arts. And if you really want to get into the weeds, theres two variants of the holo energies, but this is what i'd consider to be outside the standard of master setting. As its more of a printing error or inconsistency than anything.

Promos are not part of the set tho… besides some promos come with 4+ different stamps and it just make the card uglier, they are better without the stamps

@@J_pearce01 well did you know that every energy has 11 different variants? Normal card, modern holo and pixel holo, and every holo can have different amount of swirls up to 5? Meaning every energy has 11 variants times 9 or 10 energy types, so if you really want to be the perfectionist you need 100-110 energy cards
@@rage9667 people really only consider there to be two different energy holo types for energies so that’s what I have. Plus there’s only 8 energy types in 151 lol

Dumb question but for a master set do you use a non holo commons and rares with reverse holos, holo common and rares and reverse holos im just trying to understand this set got me back into it

@Wattorips do you have any tips on collecting the vintage sets (base set, base set 2, jungle, fossil and team rocket)? I am unsure about buying cards from car boots as I don't want them to be fake. I also don't know if it's worth buying vintage cards from card shops. Any advice would be appreciated.
Yeah it is really hard.. I'm currently doing the same. Defs try shops and certified ebay stores. That's are a great place to start. Also if you want , you could buy graded cards that have a very low grade like 4-6 that still look decent for your binder. U will find sometimes they are cheaper than the raw price! But you have to crack the card out yourself of course but at least you know it's real cause it was graded. I think just researching and meeting trusted people in your scene is good though. There are usually good people around. Also watch a youtube on things to look for on fake cards. There is a bit of a checklist that should keep you safe! That's all I can think of. Nice set, if you care about all the promos i think you are technically missing the squirtle Pokemon center promo, best buy bulbasaur promo and the pikachu and eevee poke post pokemon together promo. Also the pokemon center snorlax promo.
Also ive seen people include the charmander, bulbasaur and squirtle S&V black star promos.

mate i'm about to start collecting the SV151 set. i am a 90's kid who grew up watching pokemon and had the original base set mega deck with a rubber band around them (card sleeves what?) haha but now as a 32 year old adult, i wanna get back into again like a brand new reset. i can only get 3x3 card albums so is that ok?

This same thing happened to me in 2020 when I found out what the evolutions set was (have a look at it, just the base set redone) and then look at me now I’m on TH-cam buying every set haha. I’m excited for ya and I’m sorry for your wallet! Yeah a 3x3 pocket might be enough just. It’s not enough for the Japanese 151 but!
If you wanted to be safe a 4x3 might work better if you want to get every card for this set. I have a palms off gaming link for 10% off in the description of this video. They have every size binder! Noticed other comments mentioning the best buy bulbasaur, pokemon center squirtle and gamestop charmander. Also there is a pokemon center stamped snorlax promo in the elite trainer boxes purchased from the pokemon center. You got both promos if you bought the ETB from pokemon center. Lastly there are pokemon together stamped pikachu and eevee cards. I will have all of these . . . . One day.

Just looking at Master Set, are you going after the Energy Variants? There is the Cosmo Foil and then the HD version of the Energy. HD version as much rarer though, there was an article on pokebeach about it.

Good idea! I will remember for my next one thanks! I think this one was 6x ETBs, one of each collection box available and 3x cases of mini tins. Yes defs possible! they also announced some restock for next year I think! Lost of japanese as well and that's getting a reprint if you wanted to try for that instead. I use @palmsoffgaming sleeves always! And binders. There is a 10% discount link in my description if you want to try those ones! depends where you live but it's getting pretty hard now! I would try get what you can to open and have fun they potentially by the rest as single cards at this point. Yeah depends where you are. I see 151 loose packs in card bot machines and I've seen zapdos collection boxes and etbs around too as well as the UPC still at game stores! Incredible set up! What’s about the Bulbasaur 151 stamped promo? Did you mention that one? Also, I had the toughest time with the reverse holos…. I still haven’t found Erika’s Invitation, Dodrio, and Kingler. My local shop doesn’t want to invest time in selling me those three because they stopped buying bulk. But yeah whatever brand of sleeves you get I feel like you want a slight bit of room. Those sleeves that are too snug can get annoying. Also you want them clear as possible so your cards look nice! sometimes there is a plastic shine or fade on top with some that can be annoying.

I love the video! But fr curious since you mentioned wanting to get all of the promotional cards if you will be getting the other retail promos Squirtle (Pokémon center promo) and Bulbasaur (Best Buy) got one in the states similar to the EBgames promo.
In my masters, that I ended up collecting all of the promos, including the Pokémon center, ETB, which comes with the illustration, rare Snorlax, but with a stamp .
Once I found out about the EB games promo, I have been wanting to get my hands on it. I think it’s technically the last card Im missing now

Several variants are missing to qualify as a master set. The Stamped promo Bulbasaur & Squirtle and the Gamestop Charmander. (Which is different from the EB Games Charmander) and the Pokémon Together Stamped Pikachu, and Eevee promos. Plus the alt art Kangaskhan, which is similar to the zapdos and alakazam alt arts.
And if you really want to get into the weeds, theres two variants of the holo energies, but this is what i'd consider to be outside the standard of master setting. As its more of a printing error or inconsistency than anything.
