This happened to me whilst I was in the middle of a severe allergic reaction. I lost 7 or 8 hours. I came to in the hospital. But my children tell me I still wasn't right. I had a CT scan and an MRI to rule out a TIA and was eventually told I had experienced transient global amnesia. Never heard of it before and this is the first time I have heard of someone else having it happen to them.
How interesting Suzy! I have had it happen three times and all at varying lengths. The one thing common to all three times is that I've never remembered what happened during those periods. It's reassuring to know that I'm not the only person that has had this though. xxx
@TheNumber1LadiesClub-lf9yc I had it explained to me that you stopped making memories during that time. So you can never get them back. My son rushed over whilst the ambulance was here. The paramedics thought I had severe dementia because I kept repeating the same questions over and over again. I only know because my son witnessed it and told me later. Take care, Imi. xx
I bet you were shattered the day after from all that dancing! But joking aside that must be absolutely terrifying and I bet you must be always worried of it happening again. I know that if I've just had a few drinks at an event I'm always mortified the next day hoping I didnt embarras myself because I'm so shy normally and I like to be in control so this sounds like my worse nightmare xx
Do you know, I don’t remember being at all tired and apparently I was dancing for ages😳! But yes, we do worry that it could happen again hence my husband always following me on Find My Friends when I go anywhere without him. In fact if I start singing and dancing 💃 then it gets my husband terribly nervous until I assure him I’m okay! 😂 Much love to you and yours darling, Imi ♥️ xxx
It sounds like you've had some memorable nights! It's natural to feel self-conscious after a social event, especially if you're usually shy and like to stay in control. We've all had those moments where we worry about how we came across. As for the terrifying experiences, they can leave a lasting impact. It's understandable to be anxious about them happening again. Taking care of your mental and physical health is so important. Finding ways to relax and manage stress can make a big difference. If you ever need a listening ear or some advice, I'm here for you. And remember, we all have those moments of vulnerability-you're not alone in that. xx 💛
Thank you for sharing this experience. Glad you have your special guy there to help in case you need him. I too have the occassional lapse in memory but never anything like you explained. Lovely video. Thank you again for sharing.
Thank you darling. Yes having my darling boy watch over me is a true blessing, I'm really grateful that he cares enough to do that. I've not had that in previous relationships and after 14 years I still find it miraculous. Much love to you and yours darling, Imi xxx❤
Yes I’ve had one of those episodes. Mine was after strenuous exercise carrying heavy bags of cement up a lot of steps. I was going out that evening and had laid my clothes out on the bed, got a clean towel out for my shower, done a little housework, fed my dogs etc. I remember none of this and then I fell to sleep at the kitchen table until my sister (who I was going out with that evening) arrived. We had to piece together about 4/5 hours that I had lost. Luckily it hasn’t happened since.
Oh my goodness that’s so disconcerting isn’t it! And will never ever retrieve those memories back. Fingers crossed that you are fine from now darling! Much love ❤️ Imi xxx
What an absolutely terrifying & bizarre condition! So glad you bounce back & have no residual effects! On a lighter note, think of all the crazy things you might like to do & just do them bc you can always claim it’s just your condition. 😂 I’ve been on vacation, so I haven’t watched the last week or so. Cheers!
Hello darling! Did you have a lovely holiday? Yes, do you think I could use that as an excuse when all those Amazon packages keep arriving? I’ll give it a go and let you know if I get away with it!🤣 Much love ❤️ Imi xxx
Thank you for sharing this experience, I found it fascinating! There are many times when I run upstairs to get something and have to stand around a while to remember what I went for but I've never had an experience like that. It must be quite worrying, after all, anything could have happened. The Find My Friends app is such a good idea. My husband and I and our 20 something year old youngest children all share our locations and it makes me feel much safer, especially as I go walking on my own in the woods and on the cliffs. At least I know I can be found if anything happens!
I must admit that I often go upstairs to get something and then have to go back downstairs to see if I could remember it!🙄 Isn’t it annoying! I think sharing your location with your family is a good thing for safety’s sake. I also share my location my daughters. Love to you and yours darling, Imi xxx
Gosh! That's incredible! What a thing to happen to you! The randomness of it must be so unnerving. One of my daughters has epilepsy and, like you with this, she has no warning at all. It's scary and yes, thank goodness for these apps!
Yes it is unnerving but I haven’t had it again since the wedding episode 😳. Katie developed epilepsy when she was studying for her A levels. She had absolutely no warning either, she even had a fit during her chemistry A level examination and all they did was eventually walk her into the hallway and sit on a chair for 15 minutes she was then led back in and finished her exam 😳🙄 By the way Jo, I sent you an email to your channel email address ♥️♥️♥️ xxx

Hello, I am quite new to your lovely channel. What a bewildering and frightening experience for you, I hope you have no further episodes, although you are prepared if it does happen. I had an episode when I didn’t know who I was and didn’t recognise my husband. I do remember thinking I felt very ill and so I must be old and dying. I was just sad because I couldn’t remember any of my life. My memory started to return after a short period and apparently it was caused by the nerve type pain medication I had been taking for about a month for a severe sciatica. It was frightening, although not as bad as when I had a respiratory arrest when I was given morphine in an ambulance. At least I know it’s painkillers which cause me issues and so I avoid them like the plague. It must be so frightening to have had your experience and have no memory of it. Thank you for sharing this strange phenomenon.
Oh my goodness darling, your experience was so much worse than mine! It just goes to show that meditation prescribed to us as patients can have serious unintended consequences 😳 I’m so relieved that you now know what to avoid! My experience pales into insignificance compared with yours darling. Stay well , much love to you and yours Imi xxx❤
I had that same experience in 2021. I was told it usually only happens once. I also thought that I’d a mini stroke. I’m 75 yrs. It was caused by stress
It sounds like you've been through a lot over the past few years. Stress can have such a profound impact on our health, and it's important to take care of ourselves as much as we can. Mini-strokes, or transient ischemic attacks (TIAs), can indeed be caused by stress among other factors. It's encouraging to hear that it usually only happens once. I hope you find ways to manage stress and focus on your well-being. Wishing you continued strength and good health in the years to come! 💛 If you ever want to share more or need someone to talk to, I'm here for you.
Oh crikey, I am 64 and have been forgetting what I was intending for years. Also, my partner and I also interrupt each other and then distract from the topic then can"t find our way back...lol. I am always endeavering to be present to 'this" moment so as to not clutter life up with so many thoughts, directions or lists of things to do etc. It is a huge challenge for many of us. It caused a loss of inhibition for him. It was strange to witness this grumpy, untrusting man who has never been particularly sociable just wander up to strangers and start up conversations, invite double glazing salesmen into the house, just for a chat or simple go along with someone's will without question. It made him so much happier but very vulnerable.
