Arturia should just sell a "double microbrute" which is literally just two microbrutes set up like this but attached at the middle, and with a far extended mod matrix
I have the original minibrute manufactured in the early 1980s. It's a guitar amplifier made by polytone. Replace the drivers a few times. Amp is still kicking in 2017.
Thanks for the tips using the two Microbrutes. I only have one unit but I have also great fun using two effects with the Microbrute, the TC Eletronic Nova delay pedal and the first (old) Alesis Microverb mini rack :-)
What's better than a Microbrute? 2 Microbrutes. What's better than 2 Microbrutes? Your hands!! Honestly, that's where the magic is coming from. Great playing!
I have the monologue since 4months, not a synth player just messing around but the microbrute look neat too ! You build yours owns patchs instead of savings them
I don't know, personally I think I prefer saving my patches. But that's my preference. Maybe in the future I can get me one of these, just to expand my sound a bit. Thanks for the info guys :)
You're really making things hard for me, Paolo! I just got a great deal on a Microbrute but I haven't been able to pick up yet - it's in another city so a friend is holding on to it for me - and now I see this. Really great stuff, but now I need to find another one. I have to laugh - the fellow who sold me the Microbrute let it go for cheap because, in his words, "Who needs two Microbrutes?"
Two Microbrutes is too crazy for me but is it possible and does it make sense to add some cheap VCO in Eurorack format? Maybe DIY (kit) to keep costs low?
CompuCat No, that’s not what a true synth dude would do. You need to use that time to make a lot of posts complaining about mini-keys sucking too much for your “serious” playing.
If you have an extra 2G laying around and don't get me wrong, the matrix is an amazing synth that I will own someday. That said, you can get three minibrutes and four microbrutes off of ebay and still have money for cables.
i have a bassstation 2 whats different with that one and these minibrutes i had in mind to buy a minibrute to but if its almost same synth its maby uneserary
I have once tested both of em side by side and decided to go with BS II. Microbrute is really nice little devil with instant great sounds, BS II takes a bit while to learn to program all the stuff and there is lot of room for mistakes as well as amazing sounds. (its like comparing Juno60 and Jupiter 8, where juno is instant love and jupiter is love for whole life when you know her indepth :) )
Hi Paolo. I'm French and I thank you very much for the very nice videos you post on your blog. I own a Novation Ultranova synth and I like it very much. I feel it's a very powerful machine with amazing sounds. Do you know it? Could you make a video about Ultrnova and Bass station linked together? Thanks so much again.
Well, ok, but this way a cheap one becomes a 'somewhat more expensive' one. For that money there are enough serious polyphonic synths to choose from, or am i crazy
Good question. I have minibrute and am learning to use a beatstep pro to sequence it. Getting a microbrute as well seems excessive but I love how synthmania uses the machine.
hey now, this is youtube! don't be coming on here playing actual music on an analog synthesizer! they're only for making screechy, squealy irritating noises don'tchya know?
Yes. I've heard it's possible to get rid of the stickiness by rubbing knobs with some liquid solution. Unfortunately it's a common issue on minibrutes.
This guy reminds me that there is a difference between a producer and a musician.
darn right
What’s better than one Microbrute, two Microbrutes...and talent. Great video 👍🏻
When I saw the title, I thought the answer would be a Microbrute with Eurorack
I thought it was boobs
Arturia should just sell a "double microbrute" which is literally just two microbrutes set up like this but attached at the middle, and with a far extended mod matrix
matrixbrute
Yeah 2 full VCOs, 2 subs, 2 LFOs, 1 x ADSR, 1 Filter, 37 mini keys. Would be great to detune that massive full VCO.
The microbrute is my first analog synth and this video is super informative!!!
Such a cool demonstration of two brutes together. Infact the best i have seen so far, by far. Too kool for skool !!
Closed my eyes and for an all too brief moment I was transported back to the Balearics 30 years ago. Va bene Paulo...
Now i know why i love synths. Because of that sound from my C64's SID-Chip that will forever haunt my brain.
I like how they sound. I have been listening to videos on them for a while. They sound really nice.
i couldnt beilive how great they sound untill i got one. Thanks Paolo and have a nice new 2020.
I have the original minibrute manufactured in the early 1980s. It's a guitar amplifier made by polytone. Replace the drivers a few times. Amp is still kicking in 2017.
I have a mini and a micro and they are truly amazing alone and together. They are true workhorses.
Thanks for the tips using the two Microbrutes. I only have one unit but I have also great fun using two effects with the Microbrute, the TC Eletronic Nova delay pedal and the first (old) Alesis Microverb mini rack :-)
Dude you’re talented as hell! What an inspiration
Thank you so much 😀
This is just great Paolo! Now I have to go buy another Microbrute, thanks alot😉
Oh... I got no words to describe the awesomeness of this beast !!!
Thank you, Testoh!
Cool video, I did something similar by Daisy chaining a Korg MS-10 and MS-20. It sounded huge.
Super Sounds ...... Awesome, you are the master and commander
I have really been enjoying your videos. Grazie !
the way i see it, the microbrute seems to work incredibly well as a bass sequencer
Damn, was thinking of the 'two MicroBrute's' joke even before I opened the video ;)
i was expecting it to sound like minimoog, but it actually sounds more like Commodore 64!!
surely you jest
C64 sid chip is amazing even to this day.
you can get it to sound like a minimoog. it does a lot for a little machine. such a micro brute :)
You mean the reverse, the C64 sounds like any subtractive synth.
BRTD 2005 Distorted squarr wave people. Come on! You can do that sound with any synth.
Impressive Keyboard skills, man!
Lots of good tips here! I must check these microbrutes out more in detail. Maybe I need one... Soon christmas...
oh that fat bass rocks! now I want to double my fun too )
6:50 russian pop of mid90s, lol :-) Good one!
I could listens to the last track all day 🔥
That was sooo cool Paolo! I wish i could play the keyboard
What's better than a Microbrute? 2 Microbrutes. What's better than 2 Microbrutes? Your hands!! Honestly, that's where the magic is coming from. Great playing!
You're tempting me get a Microbrute.....but I really love my microKORG......decisions, decisions....LOL! Great video Paolo!
Go analog, get a microbrute
or even better, a Monologue
I have the monologue since 4months, not a synth player just messing around but the microbrute look neat too ! You build yours owns patchs instead of savings them
I don't know, personally I think I prefer saving my patches. But that's my preference. Maybe in the future I can get me one of these, just to expand my sound a bit.
Thanks for the info guys :)
Dude get a minilouge
Peace SynthMania, For beginners would you suggest the MicroBrute or MiniBrute 2?
Great sounds!
Top notch playing! :)
You're really making things hard for me, Paolo! I just got a great deal on a Microbrute but I haven't been able to pick up yet - it's in another city so a friend is holding on to it for me - and now I see this. Really great stuff, but now I need to find another one.
I have to laugh - the fellow who sold me the Microbrute let it go for cheap because, in his words, "Who needs two Microbrutes?"
sooooo cool!!!
thank you Paolo...
Man i would love to hear a long version of 6:20
Can you show how to program that sequence?
Two Microbrutes is too crazy for me but is it possible and does it make sense to add some cheap VCO in Eurorack format? Maybe DIY (kit) to keep costs low?
mpingo91 a eurorack oscillator and a power supply for one in most cases would end up costing the 200 u need for a microbrute :P
I can build a power supply by myself practically for free, and the VCO from kit.
1:20 ....wow, quite impressive playing for minikeys! I seriously need to work on my own chops.
CompuCat No, that’s not what a true synth dude would do. You need to use that time to make a lot of posts complaining about mini-keys sucking too much for your “serious” playing.
First time found an analogue synth player who can play some music as well as making noises.
As always - WONDERFUL STUFF! It goes a bit Photographic around 6:40, no? No bad thing! :-D
I wish - haha :-D Thank, you Jyoti!!
sounds very sid-chip to me! I have a Korg monologue which is good fun!
Nicely done, kudos
Ha! I recently picked up a Microbrute for an insane price and thought about picking up a 2nd one...
two microbrute's and an 0-coast? thats my vote for WAAAAY better!
Can't you set the note order in the microbrute settings via usb to allow you to make a duophonic synth from two of them? Thought I read it somewhere
I think that's the last note/hi note/lo note thing, set one hi and one low and each does it's job and gives you duophonic
I really like the microbrute
3:45 i though you were about to play Chameleon xD
I love my Microbrute!
1:36 I can't remember which song the melody is from🤷
Thanks Paolo!
Minute 2:30 >>>> Sounds like an old amiga cracker intro. Like that sound.
4:24 seinfield?
PWM you say? Nick Batt is watching closely :)
It sounded like a C64 when you played the first thing. :)
It's just... PWM. Most synths can do this.
2:27 Felt like i was playing a video game from 90s...
Vishal Nayak . Would be nice to hear some vgm renditions on this synth. Something like castlevania 2 belmonts revenge soundtracks.
A matrixbrute? :)
If you have an extra 2G laying around and don't get me wrong, the matrix is an amazing synth that I will own someday. That said, you can get three minibrutes and four microbrutes off of ebay and still have money for cables.
this is soooooo cooool!!!! i want a synth!!!!
Come to Brazil!
felipe massafera do you need a microbrute? I am a pro Audio sales associate for an authorized Arturia dealer hmm
Yeah, that's the only correct answer 😅 ❤️🙌
i have a bassstation 2 whats different with that one and these minibrutes i had in mind to buy a minibrute to but if its almost same synth its maby uneserary
I have once tested both of em side by side and decided to go with BS II. On 2:13 you could start playing Depeche Mode's "see you"
What synth do you like more Microbrute or Minibrute and why?
That was awesome.
Rob, thank you!
anyone into the korg arp?
this video will be used as evidence to support my litigation of a second evolver desktop ;) bwahahaha
STOP IT STOP IT STOP IT!!! STOP MAKING ME WANT TO HAVE TWO!!!!!!
i have a minibrute...it's also cute and ballsy
Ciao Paolo, how about minibrute?
Which drum machine you use for this?
Jb x
Four of these things are still cheaper than an OP-1
Well, ok, but this way a cheap one becomes a 'somewhat more expensive' one. For that money there are enough serious polyphonic synths to choose from, or am i crazy
Amazing!
Reminds me of my Akai Timbre Wolf.
the sequencer doesn't stop playing, so there must be a HOLD function?
Here: th-cam.com/video/9GQqIYU_0nk/w-d-xo.html
How about making a Q&A episode?
I do Q&A videos every now and then, do you mean a lot of them into one video instead?
Yes, pick your favourite minor questions from the video comments, and answer to them in once a while in a separate video.
OK - I'll put it on the to-do list
I thought K pop when I heard the second part. Nice!
I have a reface dx. It has a very good keybed. How is the keybed on the MicroBrute?
Christopher Williams you are asking this about a $299 synth???
Flashlight!
I feel ready to start and RPG Adventure, care to join me?
Why Microbrute and not Minibrute?
for the same reason you buy a couch instead of a sofa
imo the microbrute is "better" than the minibrute
Good question. I have minibrute and am learning to use a beatstep pro to sequence it. Getting a microbrute as well seems excessive but I love how synthmania uses the machine.
Patch points for modulars, some features not present in minibrute.
Into The Groove Baseline lesson please.
Yes
Dope
Paolo, please!! Andiamo out of the groove!!
Bravo !!!
What is the first song he's playing ?
nice man!
I am a nice man indeed. Sometimes I'm not so nice, according to my wife.
Ahahahaha lol
he's a goodfella
You need a microphone ;). Good videos!
Were you playing batman?
Reminds me of the c=64 days
Can you overdub microbrute records?
Not sure I understand your question
SynthMania I mean, can you record multiple layers with microbrute like with guitar loopers?
Wojciech Nowakowski it’s called “multitracking”.
Or one Bass station II :)
Ha l’arpeggiatore?
Si, ci uno arpeggiatore.
Are you a product endorser ? How come you have so many synths?
Great
hey now, this is youtube! don't be coming on here playing actual music on an analog synthesizer! they're only for making screechy, squealy irritating noises don'tchya know?
chieftp this deserves top comment
Awesome
ms20 yooooooo

My MB has sticky knobs. All of them are oily and gooey. I store it in its box. Anyone else a victim of this?
Yes. I've heard it's possible to get rid of the stickiness by rubbing knobs with some liquid solution. Unfortunately it's a common issue on minibrutes.
XD wtf jajajaja
But, now 2022... What's is better than MicroBrute?
Un sintetizador polifónico
What's better than an apple? An orange
