This must be the most confusing BMW model name ever. The 4 series is usually a 2 door coupe. The 3 series is a 4 door saloon. This has 4 doors, is a sedan, but it's a 4 series COUPE. Why. Anyway, it has a B58 engine and it got that going for me.

Some people hate it and want it to be just the driving but what I like the most of the video is what he thinks and recommends because others might have the same setup ! Once in a while I get it but not always and that’s why he has another channels for things like this !! .
I agree! I also like when Misha gives evaluation of the car and some recommendations. So, it would be nice off there is always some sort of talk about the car at the end of the video.
Quite often it was cut right after the ride is finished.

It has kind of a grandma car reputation lol but a guy in my street has a panda 100hp thats lowered and it looks like a lot of fun. Think it weighs less than 1000kg also
@@pfeen198 It was a 100hp version. You can identify it on appearance (bodykit, wheels, no roofrails)
Stock topspeed is 185kmh, it was close to top speed when Mischa passed it.

To owner: felicitări domnule, are dreptate Mișa când spune ca majoritatea proprietarilor pun soft și lasă restul stock. Ai urmat o logica corecta și ai mers cum ar face-o un profesionist. Nu mi-am imaginat ca mașina asta va avea reprize așa bune în varianta stock. Eu am avut un Audi s4 b8.5 , care la vremea respectivă era mașina echivalentă pentru BMW 340i, însă în varianta stock BMW merge mai bine la turații mari. Eu am pus la vremea respectivă frâne (discuri tarox motorsport și plăcuțe pagid rs19), răcire și soft. Mi-a părut rău ca n-am apucat să ajung cu ea pe Nurburgring.

Awesome to see an F36 440i rippin the ring! I have not driven an xDrive before, but can assure that the RWD version with proper coilovers, LSD, engine remap, brake pads and fluid is a hell of a weapon! Uncompromised practicality as a daily (4 doors, hatchback), always fun to drive on the road, has arguibily one of the most reliable inline 6 turbo from BMW and of course its a very solid tool for the ocasional track day! 😉
I do have the rwd model less weight stage 2 plus and you right it’s a beast and fun to slide around

I have this exact car (with slightly different mods). Being from America I’m constantly like “man it would be so cool to go drive on The Ring” so it’s really awesome to see how it would perform! Misha is so good he gets the most out of every car he drives.
For 440i grand coupe this is really amazing! This car only needs some stage 1 tune for engine and transmission and better brake pads and that's it, but for stock this is very impressive. Nice ride❤
Yes absolutely!!! I own this exact same car with same color tanzanite blue but mine has 666M competition wheels, i did H&R lowered springs (it sits now a little lower) stage 1 MHD and Stage 2 with xHP trans flash and Mperformance brakes. I need to say it’s a perfect daily driver!!! ❤😊
I have a 335i Xdrive F30 and it is a very nice car for a daily. Low consumption, fast and big enough. Love it.
F30 328 xdrive msport here...love it....and I I what hes talking about...Im hooked on doing it a bit.....hard turn rear loose traction a bit then power slides back into the line then gas it harder....blisssss

As someone who's likely never going to get the opportunity to race the Nurburgring, it's incredibly satisfying to watch and understand what's going through Misha's mind while he's going at it. My father was always a petrol-head and he turned me into one, better at driving them than I am fixing them though, lol.

to me the F36 is the ultimate road car from BMW, at least when it was new. Good looks, amazing engines especially with the 440i and excellent practicality. For a more engaging drive I think the 440i coupe or M240i of the same generation would probably best option with the B58.

I am romanian, and i am inspired to hear that he was achiving all his life and sorting it out and now he was able to buy his dream car and enjoy it whether on his daily basis or for track pourpous. I can tell that he is older than me but this thing just make me relax and keep up knowing that there is no rush and someday, every one of us, maybe will get to live the same feeling he is getting.

I had one but a rwd, wasn’t anywhere near the level of understeer this has but saying that it was also modified a lot, had it set up by suspension secrets with more camber etc. They really need the XHP stage 3 to come alive or there’s a big delay between changes. I always say the 40i class comes very lazy from factory. Stage 2 and stage 3 gearbox makes it a different car. Otherwise it’s a very good cruiser but not at all fast😅
What was the fuel consumption and maintenance like? I am interested in one.
@@sergiu239 personally I got 18-20mpg around town but if you’re doing a long trip and can stand to keep it slow you can easily hit 30-35. Maintenance is easy on the b58, if you don’t modify then do it every 3-5k. If you modify then do it every 2k. Don’t pay attention to BMWs service pattern it’s too far apart for my liking. Also, service the ZF box every 50k miles it’ll thank you for it despite its “lifetime oil”.
You're right. Since this video made, I already did many upgrades. One of them is to get a tuner for the gearbox, car is working 5 times better in any type of driving. Wait for the next video :)

I agree with Mischa about M3 or M340i in the touring version. For me it's not just the practicality of the touring, but also the long roof which makes it look so much better than the sedan version.
i was in the market for a used 440i gran coupe but ended up with a new kia stinger gt instead. love to see it

You are absolutely right to call it a 3-series. BMW are stupid for abandoning their designations. Odd numbers are sedans/limousines and even numbers are coupés....except they're not apparently.

@@eugenux This must be a bot reply, right there :-))). As a petrolhead and also a E82 N52 owner, I fully appreciate the B57 inside of one of the best cars for trips, the G21. You probably got blue screen from this codes now...
I also own an F36. You should have put it in Sport+ instead of DSC because I've experienced less understeer in Sport+, somehow. Maybe I'm wrong, but you should try it.
Exactly my point ..Misha purposely took dsc off you can see it only says dsc off....but using sport+ it would have done that for u and firmed and made steering dynamic tighter.....wrong mode was used I believe as well unfortunately
As well as HP gains in either sport or sport+....

I wonder why the b58 in other platforms was not as popular as the m140 in the UK there was some very good lease deals on the m140. I prefer the 3 series platform with the b58.

imo probably a detuned awd system that sends less to the rear for more practical driving
@@DrainShwty yep, very plausible - street versions with more even front rear ratio, sport & track vehicles with more rear bias. I assume the bias could be even electronically controlled.

@@stoneehI will comment....to add in I had an e90 328 xdrive ....it seemed extremely well balanced seemingly feeling 50/50 split....I now have f30 328 xdrive MSPORT , whether it is an f3x or Msport thing....the f30 has more rear bias than my e90, IMO

Misha it is awesome that people are listening to You. Questions need Help of which Vehicle to Get. BMW X6 in-line 6 or Porsche Cayenne V8 ? If pick the BMW X6 like to Switch motor to the V8 non turbo for Now. Porsche Cayenne install rear Turbo chargers as its upgrade. Thanks

Okay so it looks like the 440i is slower than a F22 M240i but it’s also heavier so it’s ok. Great one 👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼
To be honest I think he had in comfort mode with dsc button held down for 5 seconds....sport mode or sports+ are drastically quicker...sport+ would have taken dsc off for him....

It’s actually a 5 door (it has a tailgate not a boot), in the same way the 5 door Audi is an A5 and not an A4 😀
Having recently driven a new M240i X-Drive on track, I can confirm AWD ruins the car and turns it into a bit of an understeery boat. Otherwise great driving as always sir 👍
F30 328 xdrive MSPORT..... adaptive suspension....I don't believe I have much understeer what so ever....I assume the 240 had adaptive....and shorter wheel base....did you have chassis in sport or sport+ mode...changes wheel dynamics and firmness
@cheesecakemilkshake8043 yeah everything in full attack mode and didn't feel great compared to my rwd E90 330i (which already feels boaty since my main track car is a miata) This was on quite a tight and technical track so your mileage may vary
