  • This video is about my favorite one coat coverage paint by Behr, the Marquee!! And a bonus too on how I paint to be the most efficient and productive!

I use that same paint on my house. Nothing like it. I chose a semigloss finish as I wanted it durable and easy to wash with the granddaughter. It worked really well in the sprayers too!!

My favorite paints are Benjamin Moore Ultraflat Waterborne Ceiling and Benjamin Moore Regal Select Matte finish. I just don’t see anything that compares well to the final sheen which I love so much. The Benjamin Moore Aura Bath and Spa paint is my top bathroom wall paint choice. Again, it’s sheen and performance are killer.

I admit I definitely like Ben Moore wall paints much better than Sherwin Williams, and I have used them many times for client jobs. But for my flips and rental touch ups and re-coats I still love the Marquee.
But I can agree with you fully in regards to performance and overall sheen quality of Ben Moore paints!

The regal select has so much high praise but it's so flipping expensive at like $78/gallon. Ive just recently used behr premium plus and ultra and they both worked great. Ultra seems to have a bit more latex feel but both were very good apart from a few sags and drips around the bottom corners of the window trim. Maybe one day I'll fork over the $80 and do a project on a bedroom or something to see how good regal select is in comparison. I would love to compare and see if the additional $30 a gallon is justified

Since it has that gel and peeling situation, I'm wondering if a dried marquee in the flat texture will peel off with painters tape when taping lines?

Should I cut in first before rolling

Everyone has a different opinion, but I always prefer cutting in before rolling

i know it says one coat but would it hurt or help to use a primer as well?

It appears the young gentleman with tattoos and Outlaw motorcycle Brotherhood attire was painting over a primed wall 🙂

Behr does not claim that Marquee is one coat over unsealed walls. The color willl cover in one coat, but the paint film will flash out if the substraight has not been sealed first.
