I always wonder why Philippines did not develop and prosper like Japan, South Korea and Taiwan while enjoying close relations with the US...

i think it has something to do with the culture. Japan, Korea and Taiwan are all influenced or semi influenced by Confucianism, which emphasize heavily on education, discipline and morality. And they are also very very secular, believing in hard work will make a difference, which is not always the case in the Philippines.

So I will stay here what I was going to say there; I wanna feel sad about the Filipino life, I really do, but I can’t. They have more or less chosen their lifestyle. They need to stand up and put in their share of the hard work. When I say hard work I mean quality work not slapshot work, not lazy work. They need to stand up to the government to get the government to start treating there country and people better. building out and making life better for the Filipinos. I think every Filipino in the country needs a good home and the government should start a pre-fabricated home factory and supply homes to all those that work hard and do quality work toward making the country a better place.
