Bryan Kohberger's phone was shut off before the murder occurred, and turned back on when he got home. I don't understand how having a Bluetooth device in the bedroom would help prove anything, unless it was connected to Alexa (or something similar), and if Alexa would have a recording of any sound/voice that occurred in her bedroom. I think the reporter is confused as to what the expert said.

    • @IvarDaigon

As they said they know where the car was so if there is record of his phone connecting to the car in and around that time, that is evidence that he was driving it.
also Bluetooth still works in airplane mode so it's possible that he didn't turn the phone off completely and because bluetooth has a very limited range indoors, you have to be within 40-50 feet.. that could place him at their front door if any bluetooth speakers were at ground level and inside the house if they were in the bedrooms.
I mean we're talking about a guy who drove his own car to commit a quadruple homicide, didn't wear a proper face covering and left his knife sheath at the scene of the crime so what are the chances he didn't turn his phone off completely?

There is no way to tell if a phone was completely shut off or in airplane mode unless you have access to the phone itself.
This is because in both cases it wont ping nearby cell towers and wifi hotspots..
that's why its called airplane mode because it does not send out any signals past a few yards so it doesn't interfere with airplane instrumentation.

There seems to be a fundamental misunderstanding of how Bluetooth technology works here... it's not like a cellular connection that's constantly connecting your phone to the nearest cell tower without your knowledge. It must be activated in both devices you're looking to pair, and you need to proactively pair the devices the first time. Most small Bluetooth speakers can only cope with one device connection at a time, so assuming Kaylee's phone was already paired to the speaker then it won't be trying to pair with random phones. Also, Bluetooth is easily toggled on/off on any phone & people will turn it off when not in use to save battery. It's not going to give the type of hidden tracking data that's being suggested.

    • @katiesioux7757

Bluetooth has a range of 30 feet. So, you don't need to be IN the bedroom, you can be outside the house in your car as long as it is within 30 ft range. He might still have a hard time explaining his presence 30 ft from the bedroom. But if his phone was completely turned off, there would be no digital evidence. If Wifi is off, Bluetooth would connect to phone as it does not need Wifi (internet) to connect.

Moral of the story and this is NOT to people who endeavor to do the right thing as a rule, rather those who stand for nothing and fall for anything: Get used to the idea of being watched and do the right thing whether you are watched or not. And that doesn't mean taking numerous careless steps and changing your mind at the last minute. It means controlling your mind every day. Don't think about revenge. Don't imagine what it would be like to attack someone. Don't let the rejection of others define you. Do a check up from the neck up and ask yourself why people don't want you around. It's painful but we all have to treat feedback as a friend. The thing is, there will be always someone in life to kick you. Decide what direction you want to go and make it a good trip FOR EVERYONE.

There is all this talk about how can it be possible for Dylan to not hear the attack or screaming but yet nobody mentions that apparently Ethan and Xana didn't hear much either before they were attacked. He was driving cross country in December; it would look odd if it was not filthy. Melting snow plus the stuff they lay down to melt snow is nasty.

According to the affidavit and all reporting the only one who was in Kaylee's bedroom that night was Murphy the dog .
Wondering if the blue tooth capabilities would reach Maddie's room, Xana's room, or beyond if the killer wasn't actually ever in Kaylee's bedroom.

4:16 The vehicle they are in appears to have an infotainment system but Bryan’s father is using his leg that came equipped with an iPhone. 🤣🤣
If you want to tie Bryan to a location with a phone and a license plate then get tollway photos.

Was there any? Did the vehicle in question take all back roads?

@@juliecornwell4731 Not according to the Airmail News article. Bryan, his father, and the car took I-70 which is a tollway. Since Bryan doesn’t have a Kansas Tollway PASS, I requested right to know in Kansas and Sunshine Law from MoDOT in Missouri. Per the Hannibal, Missouri police department there is no record of Bryan or his car going through Hannibal, St. Louis has only live streaming cameras, and Kansas law prohibits K-DOT from giving me video and/or still images without a subpoena.

@carlhunt6662 I-70 is not a tollroad. I-80 is the tollway that runs through northern Indiana and Ohio, which he avoided.
