It’s a rare chance on the daily incense, so they want you to use your rare candy (from paid raids), to use Roar of Time to get a higher chance of getting it. In the end they can still make money off of that
they seriously need to revert that remote raid nerf, i didnt even play when it wasnt nerfed but raiding is just so expensive that i feel bad about just playing the game sometimes, especially during raid days/hours
fuck that, it's pokemon go not pokemon farm legendaries from the couch. That was an amazing change. If you're feeling bad for spending money... don't, I'm lvl 50 free to play, you absolutely don't need to spend money. You just need to control your fomo, everything becomes accessible down the line.

The background scenes while catching Pokemon? Excellent. Sandygast being the new shiny in honor of the Southern Hemisphere being in their summer right now? Clever and I respect that choice. But you're right...this event feels very lackluster. Delibird with the bow has been around for a while...Santa Hat Psyduck and Scarf Spheal have been around for a while...and ignoring the new release of Dedenne in raids, it just feels like a low energy event with nothing really new to discover.
The Sierra and spark challenge is the worst. Nobody wants vulpix.. and the first community day is sprigatto!?😂 all i want is a shiny rayquaza and mega latios at this point. Niantic needs to do better.
The 10 Pokemon for the part 1 wild encounters SUCK They still haven’t learned their lesson with the spotlight hour pokemon too, who needs an hour’s worth of just Delibird spawns? 😭
There is definitely holiday stuff in the wild other than delibird. However it is pretty rare and kinda boring. I agree that the theming is pretty weak, especially when they have fire type Pokemon on a snowy background.

I hope this is taken as intended, I mean no offence - but if you don’t already have the shiny party hat Pokémon’s for new years and you’re asking for more/different costumes, what makes you think you’ll catch the newer ones if you have no intention of collecting these again?
Tbf. It’s been bad for a while. They never fix GBL, they have made the game totally unbalanced, they don’t even explain charging in dynamic raids, and allowing so many cross type moves makes the meta so small. Funny how so many water Pokémon don’t have access to most moves makes only a few worthwhile. They can’t respect speed of electric Pokémon and have made the game so dragon based with no real fairy counters at ultra league level. Daily grind is boring because there’s nothing worth catching. Rewards for daily tasks are terrible. Also your catch bonuses or catch abilities will be randomly hard for a bad Pokémon that’ll take 5 or more balls to catch for no reason.
I like many others still play this frequently everyday and yeah the game has sucked for a while now its not just one thing its a bunch of piss poor decisions stacked on top of each other
Like where is Glalie, Abomasnow, Regice, Squirtle and Charmander with Mega Charizard and Mega Blastoise Santa hat? Regice would fit a Santa coat. Glalie and Snorunt could fit a santa scarf. Why is Absol spawning without a costume and it does not even fit to a Holiday Christmas event with primairly winter and ice focused. Why is like Giratina in raids when Kyurem or Regice could've been in raids. Previous years it's been Zekrom and Reshiram in raids but as they return in Febuary/March with Unova tour I guess. Why is Alolan Rattata, Mukrow and Tynamo that is neither any connection to Holiday either? There's three DARK type Pokemon spawning during a HOLIDAY ICE TYPE event. Where is Jynx? Swnub? Mamoswine? Lapras? Spheal with increased chance of finring Walrein. Snover, Snorunt, Bergmite, Cubchoo? These are supposed to spawn during this event.

The fact that they held a fused Necrozma day without giving new and returning players a cosmog is criminal. So we just wait months and "watch out on social media" for when they give people one is just cruel. They expect kids to look on social media? If Niantic wanted the cash from a fusion day close to christmas, giving out a cosmog is part of the deal. Now we've got half the holiday pokemon locked in raids as well. Just getting worse and worse :( Next year it'll be holiday part 1 ticket A, B, C, D, E etc the way we're heading. Just testing their playbase every new event with how much more expensive and how many tickets they can fit into each event.

As someone who’s been playing since 2016 I think Pokémon go players are just spoiled. Pokémon go is a mobile game, they don’t care about you, they want to make money like every other app you would play. It’s not like playing the main series games are cheap either so why only complain about this game? You can be a level 50 player with hundreds of shinies, legendaries & 4* Pokémon if you put in the effort and yeah you can do that as a free to play player. If you just can’t/wont travel around then this isn’t the game for you
i think pokemon go is doing just fine and most casual pokemon go players would probably agree. one of the reasons a lot of people are mad is because there aren't many new things added with these events so the people that have basically everything in the game already are just getting bored. also there is no "paywall". if you really want the new shinies you can get them for free from raids and eggs. sure you have a better chance of getting them if you pay but it's still not 100% guaranteed
I got out of the game earlier this year and went to Pokemon TCG. Its honestly so much more fun. I love video games, but Niantic has failed so much in my opinion. They are becoming more like Activision with Call or Duty. They are scrambling now and can imagine what will happen with Pokemon Go in the future.
It is slightly clever that, since it’s technically Summer in the Southern Hemisphere, the new shiny is Sandygast.
