I made this and it came out absolutely amazing! Everybody loved it. I looked at about 6 TH-cam videos before deciding yours looked the best, and boy am I glad! I also doubled the whole mixture because I ran out halfway through all the leaves. Thank you so much! I think the pomegranate molasses makes it extra special.
Hey, thank you for sharing this! This is really helpful! I have to questions that might sound stupid, but I am German and I am not used to cook things like this :D The first question is, what this "all spice" is exactly and the second question is whether the rice is pre-cooked before you stuff it into the leafs - it is, right? I would love to know!
Hi Laura, this dish an appetizer mostly, can eaten hot and cold as well. 7 spice ( or all spice) it is middle eastern blend of spices: black pepper, cumin, coriander, cinnamon, cardamom, nutmeg, cloves and sometimes paprika. You can find in all middle eastern stores or blend it at home. Rice for yalanji recipe washed and just presoaked (for 30 mins), so it will take some moisture and later while cooking will not bread the wine leaves. Happy to answer any question!
@@DolmaRecipes Hey Dolma, thank you very much for this detailed answer! Much appreciated! Let's see if I can make it :) At least I have all the spices that you just named at home.
Hi Andreea, "All spice" In order to make 1 teaspoon, simply combine 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon powder, ¼ teaspoon of ground cloves and ¼ teaspoon of ground nutmeg. That's it!
Hi, the best substitute for pomegranate molasses is pomegranate juice + sugar. For this recipe you can skip pomegranate juice and just add additional lemon juice. Yalanji ( warak enab) will be delicious!
