The other men's clothes are off. LIszt looks pretty old there, or at least the actor playing him, so it's probably the 1870s or even 1880s. Those men are dressed in 1830s/40s outfits.
This clip exposes the fact that, a) no music was being played at all on the film set (music was added later); b) the actor playing Liszt has no clue what music WILL be added later and is meaninglessly waving his hands about without a clue what he is doing; c) music was added later that has no relationship whatsoever to the actor’s hand movements. So distracting.
Why, Liszt told his student that it was not so good and he should just go and study some more! You cannot get good results if you wrap somebody in cotton. Sure Chopin had a complete different character, that does not mean that he might have been a better teacher.

This is a piece of a Hungarian TV series which I watched as a child - yes, I am Hungarian and so was Liszt. AKA Budapest Liszt Ferenc Airport :)

Is this scene really a rejection of giving a lecture? I didn't understand the word, I just imagined the situation based on character's movement

The other men's clothes are off. LIszt looks pretty old there, or at least the actor playing him, so it's probably the 1870s or even 1880s. Those men are dressed in 1830s/40s outfits.

This clip exposes the fact that, a) no music was being played at all on the film set (music was added later); b) the actor playing Liszt has no clue what music WILL be added later and is meaninglessly waving his hands about without a clue what he is doing; c) music was added later that has no relationship whatsoever to the actor’s hand movements. So distracting.
