Lucky you being able to see these buses again i cant say im a NABI40LFW fan 100 percent but their seats were very comfortable.I wish i could go on a trip like this to the everett shops and other garages you all are so lucky.and man RTS #0309 i miss that bus it sounds like it could still run in the mbta currently that bus was a beast when it was in revenue service and even now id take 0309 over all the hybrids in service the rts is my favorite bus..had to give this video a thumbs up man.

@@tcraigh1 they wont have. A fan trip identical to this but they will probs have one for some thing at some point. They usually do fan trips for retiring equitment and such.

But that doesn’t seem to happen anymore which is a shame as I would love to do th green line in a pcc and ride some rare trackage. Perhaps when the type 7’s are retired there will be a rare trackage charter.
I remember when the RTS buses started appearing in the mid 1980s, and what a relief they were compared to the Fishbowl buses -- they actually had decent acceleration for a change. And they had air conditioning, but you could still open the windows by a decent amount if the air conditioning wasn't running.

Zae Circle the BSRA got a hold of both of them and made a bus excersion all around boston. They reconverted the RTS so it could have PPL in it leagally. We also got to ride in the really old GMC. It was all for MBTAs 55th Anniversary

Too bad I found this late. But my last two revenue rides, of RTS buses, were both in Quincy, late 2016. Once on the 225 to Quincy Center & a few weeks later, on the 236 (same direction). But if I'm not mistaken, 0309 retains its original flip-vane route sign (can still remember them from the 1980s!)?
Me too!! I only got into busfanning relitivly recently, but i still remember recognizing them as a normal civilian by their distinct sound and shape! Very sad that they have reached their demise

How do I find out when these operate when the pandemic ends?
Go to the boston street railway association website and they usually have a section for “fan trips.”

2019 was a sad year, that was when NYC MTA retired rest of their RTSes.

They retrofitted it with it's original flipdot sign and paint scheme I love it I remember always taking these and the 1980s ones all the time

Sort of. The early RTS buses were made by GM Truck and Coach in Pontiac MI, but later that was sold off to a company in Arizona.
