    Unbelievable Cam, on one hand you defend the Mercedes front wing (which I don't have a problem with if it complies with the regs). Yet on the other hand you want to punish Red Bull after day 1of testing. Red Bull (as Shez said) have nailed the regs, no DAS trickery or Active Suspension or something that no other team has. If you don't like it maybe you should go watch a spec category. I guarantee you wouldn't be saying this if Mercedes were there dominant team for the past 2years. Your bias is incredible

      Somehow this whole thing about Brits only caring about Mercedes is just a bit silly. Mercedes is a German company while the truly British teams are Mclaren (well created by a New Zealander), Aston Martin and Williams. And yet Mercedes is the most glorified British team. I understand the power of the fascination generated by 7 championships won by LH but I don't see the Brits sticking with Bayern Munich if they have Brits in the team. And the argument that Mercedes is in Silverstone equals Red Bull in Milton Keys. In that respect they are both very British. So....
      I'll respect any Brit who will stick with real British teams or/and British drivers other than LH. It's very easy to just stick with the champion who dominated for 7 years. Ouch, seven years. God how long that period of boredom lasted!

    I don’t really like giving my opinion on social media but this coming a guy that has watched and love all types of Motorsports since I was old enough to walk. There is always going to be the one team that will win for a few years. This is a sport at the end of the day and these things happen in sports for those new to it. It tries to be as entertaining as possible but it’s a sport nonetheless. That’s what a sport is. It’s entertaining as possible but it’s not going to fulfill your desires every moment everyday. Just tune in watch and enjoy something about this sport that these drivers give you the pleasure of enjoying. I’m a big max fan but even if he’s not dominating I’m still gonna tune in because I love Motorsports. I’m just here to ask that everyone just try and do the same regardless of personal feelings. Yeah I really don't understand why f1 fans are so toxic. Like it's about the car AND the driver. To me it's actually a really cool sport, that demonstrates the symbiosis of humanity and technology and what we can do when a whole team works towards a singular goal. That's not to say there aren't downsides to it (there is with everything). Like of course we'd all prefer more close competition, but that's not the fault of any driver or team (it's the FIA's incompetence). Looking back on Hamilton's Merc dominant years is actually really cool now, and in a few years I'm sure I'll feel the same about Max and RB. Time really provides perspective.

    All conversations around the current regs talk to red bull being dominant and trying to pull them back, and as a mega fan of the sport of course I want to see another 2021 title fight even though I am a Max V fan (for what it’s worth I also love Lewis). However, there doesn’t ever seem to be any appreciation or acknowledgement that this car is dominant in Max’s hand only - had Perez been the driver last year alongside another Perez, we would have seen a really exciting championship. I think what we’re really seeing is one of the greatest drivers of all time (whether you love him or hate him) in the prime of his career destroying the field with devastating consistency.
    I think regs that pull back the winning team would be unsportsmanlike and where was this attitude when Lewis was destroying the field for 7 years.
    The other teams need to step up, or the fans need to be educated to the other exciting story lines as all sport is cyclical and there has always been in f1, periods of dominance.

      Did they lose fans during the Merc years? No, the sport grew because DTS happened and the action was exciting with Ferrari and then Red Bull fighting. 2017 was a massive rule change designed to close the gap. Which Ferrari did, but they couldnt get the job done.

      @madalinbpopa 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@baxtybf1 I really havent started watching F1 yesterday baxty 😂 the sport did lose a lot of fans during Merc dominance, it's a well known fact, ask Cam, I believe he made a video about this with ratings and all that. DTS brought some of the old fans back and also new ones during the pandemic, not before that. I personally stopped watching the races in 2014, maybe just the highlights from time to time, I was already kind of fed up after 2013, got busy with other stuff as well and only came back to watching every race during Covid due to DTS mostly, 2021 was when the hype started again. Same goes for a lot of my friends as well. The sport was kind of " dead" before that.
      2017 was not that massive of a rule change, they've just got rid of the engine token system so teams could actually develop their power units but Mercedes still had their engine advantage over the others, coupled with the fact that they were running their engine modes accordingly and Ferrari got closer it made it look more competitive, but Merc was still in complete control. In 2017 & 2018 Mercedes had a total of 23 wins while Ferrari had 11 with the odd RB win. Only in 2022 we had a massive rule change, before that only a few tweaks here and there.
      Sure, now the numbers suggest a massive RB domimance, but this is in an era with a budget cap where they have the best engineer of all time working his magic and arguably one of the best drivers of all time in the form of his life but there's no mechanical, no engine advantage, nothing related to RB spending more money than the others or whatever. It's just brains, talent and excellent team work combined with other teams like Mercedes or Ferrari not being able to compete because they've messed up. 2022 started with Ferrari having the best car on the grid but they couldn't build on that while Mercedes lost a lot of important staff and stuck to a dead concept for 2 years. I mean, dead for them cause RB apparently can make it work. And before you start telling me that Merc dominance was not due to their engine massive superiority, why is Allison not building any more race or title winning cars?

      @@baxtybf1 It's very unlikely all the teams got it wrong. The only outlier is Redbull, it's a case of Redbull getting results which were beyond possible under the rules. Had Redbull followed the rules, their performance would have been similar to the other teams. Their advantage is unlikely to diminish with time under the same regulations, it carries on until the regs change.

      That's not desperation it's being smart, they just built on from what they already had.
      Don't know if you've been watching F1 the past couple years but the Mercedes was not close to the RB pace at all.

    Cam, Lewis at Ferrari - don’t hold your breath. Max will be untouchable by that time, would have developed to a level way beyond Lewis at his best.

      Why so much hate? You can call Max a great driver without dunking on another great driver. You know the truth? They're two excellent drivers and we can't compare them unless they raced the same car for a few seasons. Never understood why f1 'fans' compare drivers, not only is it nonsensical but is not part of the sport and the vitriolic troll comments really show where people's hearts are (not the sport). And Lewis went to Ferrari probably in part to enjoy his last years in the sport, maybe people like you can take a page out of that book and stop being trolls and enjoy life.

      . No hate mate. Just a statement of fact. Cam is a Lewis fan i was reacting to what he said. I've been racing for 15 yrs, following F1 for 45 years. I can see things in how drivers drive that you cant see. I take pleasure in predicting outcomes in F1. Good on Lewis for going to Ferrari, I see it as a money play on both entities ends. Lewis is a fantastic driver, but not a GOAT. In fact, 10 days ago I met a Mercedes F1 team member who told me Mercedes had 100+ HP on every other team at start of hybrid era. Lewis was very fortunate to have enjoyed that advantage through 2021.
