Mj won 3 straight championship, 3 finals MVP, 3 all NBA, 3 scoring title, 3 all NBA defensive first team. Retired as the unanimously best basketball player alive and on top of the world. Came back and did exactly the same thing again. 3 championship, 3 finals MVP, 3 all NBA, 3 scoring title, 3 all first team defense again. Let that sink in.

      - through the 46 games, prior to injury 25.1 PPG - 6.2 RPG - 5.3 APG - 1.5 SPG - 0.5 BPG
      - Tracy McGrady was the only player with at least 25-6-5 at the end of the 2001/02 season, yet that's what Jordan at age 38 with multiple injuries averaged before his knee injury.
His numbers were also IMPROVING as the season went on:
      - In his last 20 games up to the injury he averaged 27.5 PPG - 6.4 RPG - 5.2 APG - 1.3 SPG - 0.5 BPG on 44%
      - In his last 10 games up to the injury he averaged 29.7 PPG - 6.6 RPG - 6.1 APG - 1.2 SPG - 0.3 BPG on 47%

      - nursing the broken ribs he got in the off-season from Ron Artest
      - fluid buildup in knees forcing him to miss last few days of practice before the season opener

But y’all really need to be fair in y’all viewing this Season . The team is so bad this man has to score 50 for them to win . And the worst argument I hear is people blaming Lebron for getting Russ, why is it Lebrons fault that he is not skilled enough to change his game Like Lebrons other teammates such as Kyrie and DWade. If he has 3 rings with other guards stop blaming him.Blame Russ not Bron for this teams poor play.

    • @paulh.9937

The only valid thing anybody can blame lebron for is choosing the team. But people have to remember that lebron isn't the general manager or the owner. He isn't 100% responsible for choosing the roster. He has a major input, but at the end of the day, it isn't his decision. That's the only thing you can blame him for. Caus lebron individually, has had a stellar season. This man has broke record after record, and playing phenomenally. Hughes was plagued by injuries, playing in just 36 games his first year with the Cavs and missing the NBA Finals the following season with a hand injury. Hughes shot a career 40 percent. Hood shot a career .419 percent. I don't know why they're even worth mentioning. Those are not NBA championship level players. In other words, those 2 always sucked.

MJ is listed at playing 13 years in Chicago but it was really 11 full seasons. His comeback #45 year the league was already 60 games in and his second season he was injured and barely played. He still set the playoff scoring record on the reigning champion Celtics that second season, that record still stands. Dropped 55, 5 games into his comeback after two years of concentrating on a different sport.
In the 11 seasons he was eligible for accolades in Chicago he was ROTY, made All NBA Second team that same rookie season. The other ten seasons? MJ made 9 All NBA Defensive First teams, first guard to win DPOY, 10 All NBA First teams, 5 MVPs, 6 titles, 6 FMVP, and 10 scoring titles. Lebron is a physical specimen and his size leads to longevity which will lead to all the records. In a vacuum though if you take Lebron’s best 11 seasons and compare them to Mike’s true 11 seasons in Chicago, I’d take MJ all day.

38-40 yr old MJ wasnt chasing rings and he was already considered as the GOAT at year 13 and he cemented it after the 2nd 3peat. He played for the wizards bec. he partially owned the team. He knew his name can put people on the seats and more viewers to watch their game. The wizards was a terrible, small market team. No major change and allstar was added to the roster when he came back from retirement and play for the wizards.
On the other hand, lebron at year 19 is still chasing the ghost of chicago. He himself said he has a burning desire to catch MJ's six rings. Jordan is still beating lebron in all legit polls. And there's no question that he's focusing at his stats bec. it's something he feels more attainable. I bet he will form a new superteam whether its in LA or other cities.
