As is tradition in Mario Party games, if 2 or more players end in a tie (having both the same number of stars and the exact same number of coins) at the end of the game the winner is determined by a dice roll between the tied players. So there is a guaranteed winner even if two players are tied.
I actually had Bowser spin the 100 stars option once and was so excited as I also thought it was impossible. I was then incredibly disappointed as I saw Bowser run away without giving me the stars he promised.
Iirc correctly Bard raided thab as he was playing that minigame where you had to rotate the joystick and suddenly without context hundreds of people joined the stream to see that camera shot of Thab. I don't think I've ever laughed that hard at anything in my life.
"It's random" "It's basically random" It's not. This is the absolute easiest Mario party to control what number you roll, and in the case of the cannons on Wario's Battle Canyon, the landing points follow a set pattern and can absolutely be timed.
Thank God I did not have this game back then, Me and my friends were fighting over much less, can't imagine what would happen playing this all together.
I just looked, and unless he called it "Ocarina of Time", there wasn't any Zelda game in the list. He mentioned that he was keeping Super Mario 64 for the end, so it's not in the list. Maybe it's the same for Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask?
@@TheodoricEichen I believe he calls them “Next Zelda game” so that he doesn’t accidentally pull Majora before Ocarina. Still, depending on RNG from the number selector, it could still take him over a year to get one of them.
God, this must be the most unfair trilogy I've seen in my N64. The CPU will ALWAYS aim at your character in those swap events or when asking the boo to steal coins and stars. There is no RNG involved. They'll always have 100% chance of screwing you up over and over again. At least in the first game you could swap characters in the middle of the match to make thing a bit easier.
All the snark and salt in your commentary just fits the Mario Party vibe so well, I was laughing the whole time. I remember playing this with 4 2-person teams back in high school (went about as well as you'd expect.....) The absolute chaotic power of these games is truly unmatched. Anyway thanks for the entertaining video and the trip down memory lane
Comrade Bowser and his radical redistribution of wealth from the fat cats to the starving poor represent a shining beacon, a guide to revolution and a greater tomorrow
It's kind of inexplicable but this series has such a comforting energy to it. It's partly the subject matter and partly your voice and personality. I keep coming back to see what you play next.
Also mushroom mix-up is kind of in fall guys, but it's not as good. There's that memory game where it tells you which fruit are safe to stand on with progressively less spaces to get to. Similar idea but not as fun
Is Mario party 3 the one with the bowling mini-game or is that this one? Where it's 1v3 and the 3 are hopping around as bowling pins while the 1 throws a shell down the lane to knock them over. I love that one.
You said the happening bonus star is completely random, but I sometimes take a seemingly not advantageous path in order to land on ? spaces if I know I can get happening star lead. Not random in that sense.
Super Mario party for the switch has a game mode that is completely cooperative, it’s got a river rafting theme where you work together to traverse a river and play a bunch of cooperative mini games. They also include these mini games if you play the mini game only mode for the game, it’s a great time
My friends use to play this all the time. We never hated each other, except one friend who can't stand loosing. Other than that it can be an awesome drinking game.
This game is not only famous for destroying people's palm, but more importantly: their N64 controller joystick. I swear that this game alone caused a good half of everyone's joystick being worn out.
the endgame tie breaker is a roll off. stupidest thing ever to determine a winner, you'd think they would fix that in later installations but they didnt.
I remember this game for all thr wrong reasons. I got a blister which turned into a hole in my hand after trying to do THAT minigame and fastest way to do that was to use the palm of your hand.
lol i lost it when he said it's not a good idea to play this with a camera pointed at you. i prob wouldn't have even noticed if you didn't say anything cuz i was watching the gameplay. and the "phew ok" at the end just sent me
Love Mario party 2. Always used to get mad at the A.I when I was a kid. Always felt like they got the dice roll they needed to cheat me out of a win. Really need to give the one on switch a go.
For the tug of war I thought you were going to warn about the bleeding palms, or absolutely destroying the joystick and requiring a new one / new controller in the worst case (modern controllers do not like the sort of abuse the n64 ones took), but no, it was... lmao
Mario party is just meant to destroy relationships. One of my worst fights I've ever had in a relationship came from whichever of these came out first on GameCube. The next round I got her *excited* and we didn't finish. Mario party is the most extreme game ever. It's best to just quit
I just discovered this series and LOVE it. I have a couple questions. How are you capturing your Nintendo? Do you have a list of hardware somewhere? What kind of controller are you using?
After a Board game if you have same stars and same Coins, it gets decided on how many ? spaces you stepped on.... at least this is what happened to me in Mario party 3 I believe.
19:50 legit one of the funniest moments I’ve seen in thab’s channel. I’m dying.
"fwhooo!.....okay....."
LMAO i was dying 😂
Same! LOL. Almost spit coffee out hahahahha
Without a doubt the funniest moment ever
the little drums and mario's voice afterwards

Thanks for answering this!
What if you both roll a 5?

4:30 "If you really wanna test your relationship, play Mario Party with your partner." This is just golden relationship advice!
19:51 "you might not like it but, this is what peak performance looks like"
3:08 - Bowser Communist Revolution XD
Koopa's prediction definitely does matter, because, in my experience, that character is 100% guaranteed *not* to win lol
I actually had Bowser spin the 100 stars option once and was so excited as I also thought it was impossible. I was then incredibly disappointed as I saw Bowser run away without giving me the stars he promised.
5:15
If two or more players are tied in BOTH stars and coins, they will hit a dice block each and the highest number wins the game.
Never thought I'd watch someone explain how Mario Party works for 22 minutes
Iirc correctly Bard raided thab as he was playing that minigame where you had to rotate the joystick and suddenly without context hundreds of people joined the stream to see that camera shot of Thab. I don't think I've ever laughed that hard at anything in my life.
Omg. That is perfect. Lmao
My mother in law saw you rotating that joy stick. She was laughing so hard.
"It's random"

thab, that tug of war gaffe made me laugh harder than I’ve laughed in a really long time 😂
same LOL that was hilarious and the timing was uncanny!

Sounds like a legit revolution to me! 😎
19:30 my wife enters the room and asks why I'm watching someone doing... This
The "phweew, okay" at the end of tug-o-war got me so bad.
man, this video hit me with nostalgia so much. i love this series but this meant a lot. thanks thab
Mario bandstand was always my jam. Loved seeing you play this game!

You didn't beat it, if you didn't finish the minigame island.
Mario Party, with some of your favorite voices! Including Chris Pratt, Jack Black and more!

this series is killing it!
The old games were so much better.
I remember playing all those minigames as a kid at my friends house, good times.
I love the sounds in this game. 15:13. 19:50
I love how Nintendo shot themselves in the foot with the box art... the dice makes it look like the title might be Mario Party 3.
This game was randomly chosen about 6 games early. A review of Mario Party 1 on the day Mario Party Superstars comes out would have been great!
Ah, the game that made family members and friends hate each other.
With the peranah pund game... if all 3 players ground pound at the same time the flower gets a huge boost.
That was a tug of war all right, lol!
Last month i played this with a friend, was really fun, good video😁
man what was the resolution for n64 games? 50x50? :D
Damn Mario Party came out in 99 eh? Felt so much earlier. RIP to everyone's palms
Lmao to the camera pointed at u part but u left out the damage it does to the controllers

Why didn't you do the campaign thing?
disregard you did it should have watched the whole video first xD
Wait, did you do F Zero X already? Where is it?
No

That tug of war joke was funny as f hahah
Mario party 1 infamous for wrecking controllers. Mario party 2 in my opinion got it right and took out those stick wrecking, blister inducing games.
I love this series!

During the tug of war it looks like you are furiously spanking it.

I love the bobsled too
There is another board (The Tutorial Board), also hoping that you completed Minigame island
You should play with friends with these party games in the future! That would make them even better.

17:29 why u talking bout Mario party 1… ;)
The thumbnail had me legit thinking this was 3 the whole time.
Wow, still loving this series. Can you do every SNES game next!? :)
When it's Majora's Mask's turn, will you make another 'short' video? I'd love to see you play the entire game. Keep up the good work, my man.
