i can say from my experience (i am also a dancer) that sometimes when your on stage and in practice you are focused on getting the movements down and perfect that sometimes you forget about the emotion and facial expressions
also remember at 14 you don't neccessarily know how heartbreak feels like, especially not to our grown up extent and faking emotion is just way harder. Give her time :)
i’ve seen lots of comments saying “WHERES THE EMOTION” or “THIS ISNT DANCE ITS GYM” personally i think this was beautiful, in time, a good amount of skills mixed in with contemporary,. yes expression would have helped but i still think this was great (and before peeps accuse me lol, yes, i am a dancer.) ❤️
Y'all- she didn't post this video for your constructive criticism. There are judges for that. Can't we all just enjoy her talent? She's a beautiful dancer.
Absolutely amazing phenomenal actually just one thing emotions I see a beautiful fantastic dancer incredible just needs to work on more emotion and connecting to the songs meaning
Annie Ho It's the emotion and the connection to the song that really holds the dance together, never technique. You won't go anywhere in the competitive dance world if you dance emotionlessly.
I am amazed by all the negative comments. This is a gloriously beautiful young woman who is growing! She did a wonderful job! I'm sure half the people who commented could not do this. Everyone has strengths and weakenesses, humans need more grace with one another!
My top tips for becoming more flexible: stretch morning, noon, and night. Even simple stretches will help. I promise you that none of these things or any flexibility will come easily or quickly. It might take up to a month to start seeing real changes
Ignore the negative comments. Young lady you are a beautiful dancer. I was a former dancer and pretty sure all those negative commenters can’t dance. You did beautifully
It’s beautiful and made me tear. There is so much emotion in this choreography!!! All moves were neat, clean, and well put together. I loved this💃🏼💃🏼💃🏼❤️❤️❤️ #KinGeek #DanceMajor #Trainer #Coach
That was amazing. Idk u at all but that made me cry. U have so much power and as a dancer myself i know that that is very hard to accomplish. Good job. Dont be afraid to let your feelings burst out on your face. Let happiness, saddness, anything while ur dancing wash over ur entire body and face. And that would be perfect
It's not even just the emotion in her face that's missing. It's like she doesn't care about the movements and she's just running through the motions. I feel like with a piece like this you have to feel it with your body, not just your face; she didn't pull it off.
I would say work on emotion in your face and movements. At times your movements get very choppy as if you're just flailing your arms and legs around forno reason and you want it to flow
I think that this dance was amazing, but just a tip you could use a little more facial expression but I thought that it was amazing and you have great technique!
I may be alone in this opinion but 'emotion' in dance is often just strong, poised hands and whipped hair. If she'd extended the choreo to include her hands and had hair flying everywhere everyone would have felt the 'emotion' I think it was great regardless especially for her age :)
I dont dance anymore but a dancer without emotion is almost equivalent to an actor without emotion (i dont know if that explains well enough??) I mean even when i did gymanastics (i did it longer than dance) facial emotion was critical for floor routines
yes i feel lke everyone is used to the dance moms maddie face and sometimes that's not what's needed, i think she's got plenty of time to perfect her emotions :)
My opinion, when I look at you I see dance...just dance as if you're dancing without enjoying it.... When I look at others dance like professional dancers...I see emotion even if its anger or sadness or happiness....You need emotion..because that's what makes you from a good dancer to a great dancer. In my opinion right now u are just doing moves on the floor.... I'm a self taught dancer and this is what I have always thought... I don't want to bring you down or make you feel bad I'm saying this as ADVICE! The dance was really good tho!
I feel like the bent knee for her standing leg when she pulls up her other leg might give her a really bad knee when she grows up, especially the way it swerves inwards at 1:34. That looked really painful! On another note, the expression and emotion might get better with age, so she should definitely keep it up!
0noregrets0 dancers always do that I think but the way she did it, it kinda looked like she was forcing her leg up up when it can't go that far yet until she practices more and stretches more but that's just my opinion the way she did it and I'm actually a dancer
Your so amazing what age did you start ? I am 13 and do ballet, tap, modern, street and many more however have never taken it that seriously, is it to late to start?
Rebecca Plumb no it’s not!! I started when I was twelve and In one year I made the competition team and do Competition(lyrical, jazz and contemporary), Tap, lyrical and a REALLY hard conditioning class and I couldn’t be happier!
I have been doing dance on and off one class a week my whole life. I just started taking it seriously this year and I’m 13. I’m super passionate abt it and personally, I can keep up very well with my team👌🏻
i can say from my experience (i am also a dancer) that sometimes when your on stage and in practice you are focused on getting the movements down and perfect that sometimes you forget about the emotion and facial expressions
Ashley I can agree. Sometimes I’m dancing and I forget the emotion.
also remember at 14 you don't neccessarily know how heartbreak feels like, especially not to our grown up extent and faking emotion is just way harder. Give her time :)
Yeah totally well said
@@acropaws2861 pain does not have an age limit.
Pra mim, falta dança realmente. Vejo apenas sequências quase como uma apresentação de ginástica rítmica.

her dance was phenomenal but, this is my opinion, she could've done more expressions or emotions through the dance to fit the song.
Yeah I felt the same way watching her. Even though her technique is quite impressive
abbykrysta no i do this dance i did it for 5 years and she thos it perfeckt
I was thinking the same thing, she looks like she doesn’t want to be onstage
She's so young, i guess those develop as a dancer matures
quaking agreed👍🏽
Phenomenal!! She is truly talented.
Thankyou so much xoxoxo
Absolutely amazing phenomenal actually just one thing emotions I see a beautiful fantastic dancer incredible just needs to work on more emotion and connecting to the songs meaning
shania Laura if you are properly trained and know how to use the correct technique you'll be fine.
Annie Ho It's the emotion and the connection to the song that really holds the dance together, never technique. You won't go anywhere in the competitive dance world if you dance emotionlessly.
Wow, I could watch this over and over Remy! Love it.
Thankyou so much
Wow well u,m I want to do dance RIGHT NOW sorry my mom is signing me up for dance contimpary

yeah, that´s it, you have all the reason of the world.
Atarah Breakie exactly what I felt. many people fail in expressing their dance
Agree with you 😊
Atarah Breakie YES I agree! She needs to loosen up! But other than that beautiful peice
I am amazed by all the negative comments. This is a gloriously beautiful young woman who is growing! She did a wonderful job! I'm sure half the people who commented could not do this. Everyone has strengths and weakenesses, humans need more grace with one another!
I love this! I’ve watched it a few times now. Just beautiful. Bravo!
She is very talented. It took me three watches to get her interpretation of the dance, but I got it. I'm sure she has grown since this.
I'm speechless.....so graceful and Serene..
Her lines and extensions are beautiful...the "emotion" factor comes with time...overall excellent
Took the words right out of my mouth.
Look how young she is! Expressions, emotions…give her time.
I would love to see her performances today!!
Performing not always easy , i love it ❤️

MyChemicalMaddie kalanis average there's a lot of people better than her if you've ever been to a dance competition lmao
jayjayn1000 she's definitely not a prodigy but she's above average.
She is not better than Kalani, Brynn, Maddie or Ellie. But she is far better than the rest.
barbara 1234 her technique is superior to maddies
