9:29 is misleading. It doesnt tell you whether the object is supposed to be rotating up, down, sideways or whether both objects have to ratoate in the same direction

Yeah, that last one is tricky. Answer A is a vertically mirrored copy. Answer B is also the same, but rotated to the right by 90 degrees and then mirrored vertically, or rotated 90 degrees to the left and mirrored horizontally. The same applies to Answer C can be mirrored vertically and then horizontally so it looks the same, or rotated 180 degrees in either direction. Answer D can be rotated to the right by 90 degrees and then mirrored horizontally, or rotated 90 degrees to the left and mirrored vertically so it looks the same as the example. Basically, Answer C is correct because it requires only one type of "operation" (rotation only or mirroring/reflecting only) be performed on it so it looks the same as the example, while the others of course require a combination of rotating AND mirroring/reflecting so that they look the same. That is really an underhanded and (I hate to say it, but...) unfair question, because the placement of each individual block corresponds to that of each block in the original example, so they are all essentially the same. But how is it that the "operations" performed determine whether or not it is identical to the original, if it is true that each block's orientation is exactly the same as it is in the original? It takes a fair amount of analysis to see that Answer C is unique/correct relative to the others, and probably more than anyone would be willing to do under timed conditions. Boooooooooooooooo.
That's why you would fail if you did all that thinking... If you start with the questions proposition being 'identical' then you just look for an answer that is the 'most' identical. It's just C. Takes a few seconds to get that, move on.
they should make it exactly clear what type of solution they want you to perform. you could pick any four and they could all be "correct" when the defining question only asks if something is "identical"
for example, if I asked you a question that says: "which of these answers for square root of (100) is the correct one???" a) 4+6 b) the first double digit positive integer c) half of 20 d) the number of letters in horizontal e) the number of days I wasted making this shitty IQ test "Good luck answering that one idiots!!! If square were to be flipped it would be identical to answer A...Flipped and rotated its B, and D. Technically they can all be considered identical. Questions like this I feel are very unfair. =-/

This is because by rotating, we don't change the shape altogether. We just look as if we are looking at it sideways or upside down. Don't consider it as rotation, just think that you are looking at it with your head upside down (try it literally). Flipping will change the shape completely.
Great videos. However some of the spatial tests like ASVAB doesn't give A B etc to help you assemble. Which makes it hard to figure out what piece goes where some times.
I haven't done real math since high school but because the UX/UI Design market is using them. Now since it been so long I have forgotten so much of these. When I did a practice test I felt dumb after 2mins of trying. And now I`m using shlsuccess site. Guys really doing their work well
You can flip it and place the triangle upside down. D is a perfectly valid answer as well. That's how spatial reasoning works. There is no means of selecting between B and D.
The CAT4 tests that schools use to determine future performance or as an entrance exam are very similar and vary by age - not sure if your book shows questions at different levels ? Having trouble finding questions for my students who are younger in age....

Hi, that is a good question. It would not be D due to how the letters on the box are arranged depending on which direction the box is facing. In this example, B is on the top line of the square shape meaning the triangle would go on top and the right angled triangle would go on the side to match answer B when rotated anti - clockwise. I hope I have been able to clear this up for you. Be sure to check out the other questions within this video.

That is correct. The time limits on these assessments are extremely strict. They are designed so that you are unable to finish the questions! That is why you need to remain accurate, as well as work of your efficiency skills.
