the greatest tacticians are those who understand players abilities rather than strict posisition gameplan making football becoming boring and less tricks .kudoss to ancerloti for always giving players fredom
I agree and also disagree with you. I believe in both system, as he addressed in the video Real Madrid have better "individual quality" and that 's what makes them unstoppable. Now let just say you coaching a team with less flair players and what philosophy would you bring to the team?
This is not a fact.
Depends on what you have to work with!
This is rubbish....Madrid have superior and decisive players so you can say this. At Napoli and Everton what did he win. Where were comments like this. He is a great coach but let's not pretend his tactics are that superior.
@@ato-blakussam-acquah1557 At Napoli he almost won Seria A League.
At Everton he reached semi final League Cup.
What Ancelotti did with Everton will give you the right answer! @@VitKwanchai
I like how Ancelotti is able to balance using tactics relevant to the opponent with the individual quality of his players.
Basically less extrem zidane.
he is goat with guardiola
Stop waffling.
This game had nothing to do with tactics
@@him333-i4pohhh so it was what😂?
@@LawZauthentic erm let me think.
Maybe it was the fact you had all three ballondor contenders on one team?
Or maybe it’s the fact that Atlanta are fielding farmers?
Or maybe maybe it’s the fact that Real Madrid have the best players in the world at nearly every position…
It’s not hard. Have better players than the other team. You don’t need tactics to win with Madrid squad especially against pub teams
This is why I say Carlo is the best manager ever. You guys can keep saying that it’s pep but for me no one comes close to Carlo Ancelotti. He takes what he has and makes it work, it doesn’t matter the personnel or player profile. If he goes to a team with super quick attackers , he’ll play quick vertical football. If his midfielders are slow, he’ll play more of a mid block. If he has top players everywhere, he gives them complete freedom to link up everywhere on the pitch. If he has to play defensive, he’ll go and shut the opposition down. His most underrated ability is his ability to make in game tactical adjustments. I’m a Madrid fan and the amount of times we have a bad first half or bad first 30 minutes then absolutely destroy the opponents in the second half is crazy. His man management is second to none. He has won every single one of the top 5 leagues. He’s simply that good.
And add to that the great relationships he fosters with players based on mutual respect. I agree, we are witnessing the best manager ever.
Lol you forget how refs favour Madrid, especially in foul situations, remember ancelotti was at Bayern and he was unable to do the same thing, yes he's brilliant but you can't ignore Madrid favouritism when it comes to refs, watch any of the semi final games involving Bayern and madrid, see what we mean.
@@mwat22you should go rewatch them, cause you’re sprouting nonsense. The refs in all of those games made also huge errors against Madrid.
What about Milan? @@mwat22
@@mwat22thank you he failed at psg and Bayern and Everton people keep forgetting
We felt the absence of Kroos in the build up phase. Yesterday, no midfielder had the ability to keep the ball under pressure and break the lines or orientate the game like Toni did. Tchouameni needs to improve his skills to play in this regista role.
I think we’ll see Modric play a lot more to help in the build up. He came on for Kroos many times last season and played his role well
@@gravejello2331 Modric can’t play 90 minutes at a high level anymore sadly.
Its the first game without him...offcourse players need time to adapt....madrid will play differently in the future....with more direct n midfielders running with the ball...rather than trying to imitate kroos
but Arda !
Camavinga is better fit for Kroos role than Tchouameni
That build up play tactic is just something we haven't seen it from your modern coaches Pep, Klopp, Arteta...ext.. A pure master plan from Don Carlo.
It's refreshing I'll admit
@@ahmedbinrobiaa5043 Thiago Motta did it last season with Bologna
@ahmedbinrobia Its bcoz only gasperini in europe plays man to man i think
It's the solution everyone uses when up against a man to man press, it's literally the easiest type of pressing to dismantle because if the other team rotates their positions you're done, let's see them do this against man city or arsenal press, which is rather zonal and is not affected by movements of the opposition players.
@@anasselmansouri3956so easy that Liverpool and Leverkusen broke it with ease right 😂
When K. Mbappé ask Carlo Ancelotti what tactics are they using, Ancelotti said no tactics here when i raise one of my eyebrows you score 😂😂😂😂
The most outstanding thing about the real madrid squad between their players and the coach is how they get better and learn to play even greater as the game progress, the simple stats show that!! how they magically win their most important games in the second half😵💫😵💫
Ancelotti is like Real Madrid, a Chameleon, they adapt to any situation and can play different styles, that makes them so dangerous, they can play a possession based style, if that doesn't work they start attacking more directly and aggressive with through passes, they can drop deep and counter attack, they can press high or let the other team take initiative and not suffer much, it's always something different, and the players also make it even better by being able to move across the pitch changing positions and responsibilities.
man i just wanna say i think youre the best football youtuber out there. your videos always come out quickly after the match and theyre very well made. and you tactical analysis is fascinating. really underrated channel
Thanks so much!!
Good lord this video makes so much sense of the game I watched yesterday. That pace, individual quality, and the will to win is just incredible. Its scary being a defender against these lot
We getting Carlo Ancelotti Tactico, nah Madrid going invincible
great analysis, i was wondering why carvajal and mendy were droping deep while rudiger and militao were placing themselves further behind atalanta's midfielders, but that sums it all up
I’ve been waiting for this to drop the whole day ngl
We might have seen a way better Real Madrid if there was more time to train because they were missing the attackers, main midfielders & full backs for all pre-season. As the season goes on, I think this will be perfected & we'd see adjustments to the holes/flaws, like we saw last season when Real Madrid has issues with crossing & the defense.
that match reflects how they will play most of the time this year.
with Kroos, there's controlled tempo and flank switching.
without Kroos, long balls from their own half were quite inaccurate last night.
the 2mids,and in some cases three, with Bellingham are both
anchors and box to box depending on the game
in attacking phase, they will be more direct and rely even more on individual creativity up front
Spot on the weakness of man-to-man marking is when you play against a team filled with guys that can dribble and madrid have lots of such players
We got Vini playing the Kroos role before GTA6 😂😂
we got vinicius junior playing striker before gta6 😭
It was so good. To be honest I felt like I was watching the 2006 World Cup football because of the tactics. Real Madrid looked like an 06 France. Because the way they played was so spaced out and individual. Bellingham and Mbappe were like a Zidane and Henry pairing. I was like damn teams be doing all that tiki taka just to be beatened by the italian style tactics.
And they say Don Carlo has no tactics this video was joy to watch
I hope Tchouaméni defines his role this season. RM needs him to be a defensive blanket and to refrain from attacking. He'll have space for an occasional long shot blast, but i hope he can accept a Xabi Alonso type role at Real Madrid.
Both him and Camavinga lack football IQ. They give the ball away in silly positions causing almost an assist to the opposite team. Xabi Alonso was a great passer and maestro but awful at defending. Tchou needs to learn Casemiro's style and perfect that, he isn't aggressive enough
@@blackbox1024 and @booyoudead are absolutely right. It's not so much that Kroos is missed (he is), what truly hurts the team is the fact that Tchouameni is cold and toothless. He was BY FAR the worst against Atalanta
I like the fluidity between the attackers and their ability to switch positions or drop deep to a play maker position, but long balls may back fire and Courtios had 0 accuracy executing them
Ancelotti tactics are genius but we all miss toni Kroos in that game . New midfield is not looking balanced. They can't keep the possession as kroos did.. Kroos was that man who runs the game for madrid as he wishes .
Atalanta's tactics were so risky. The reason it worked the first half is that 6 players of madrid side were playing their first match after the summer break and they've only joined the team a week ago , that's why we saw them a little bit rusty , playing like that against those names in the middle of the season where all of them are perfectly fit and in perfect harmony , you'll be destroyed
Finally, someone who understands. People seem to ignore that this is the first time all Real Madrid starting 11 played together. They need time to figure out each other.
As a Real Madrid fan since childhood, I am asking myself if we could even loose these 5 next years with such a good team and a good coach. Our only drawback will be the fact that Kroos and soon Modric leaved the club. They were exceptional to control the center.
Considering the tactics and the quality of players atalanta has they played really well and in the first half they silenced madrid front three.
the match duration is 90 mins not 45 mins!!
I'm worried about the absence of Kroos in the long term. None of the midfielders available have his quality and precision in swift long passes. We need to completely change the playing style to adapt the available players better. ❤
In terms of passing, we have Arda, but he needs to be patient, if he have the determination to learn and climb the ranks, he could be the successor of Kroos and Modric, it depends entirely on Arda himself but either way, I'm not really worried.
Vini will likely become a midfielder with time from the game we saw from him...
@@joaovitorcamargo7165😂so what about the pace and dribbling he's gifted with? Should he just waste it to do midfiled role?
@@superman1856 Vini is more than pace and dribbling, he's the best playmaker of UCL history as for 23 years old players!
@@joaovitorcamargo7165yeah maybe with time and aging he will start playing as a 10 more same as Ney and Dinho did

Only Rodrygo swapped with Brahim. He's a better dribbler and way better at keeping the ball.
Mbappé has forgotten how to make runs and ask the ball deep rather than at its feet. We saw at different occasions Mbappé standing still while vini or Valverde making a smart run to ask the for pass. Mbappé will be a killer once he gets back his tactical advantage: speed
Have been waiting for this video since morning.
Thanks for dropping it
What a vid man!! I have no idea why courtois doing all the long ball yesterday, i thought that was to compensate losing kroos in midfield 😅
Kroos's absense is a hit but i do believe when Ancelotti will use Luka for the Kroos role this season when needed but im certain he will find a different way to play without Toni Kroos. I really hope next summer we get someone who has that ability to play that role because Luka will leave/retire eventually
It will be fun to watch how Ancelotti deals with that. He always had a general in his midfield, may it be Pirlo, Xabi Alonso, Kroos or Modric. Maybe that's why he's waiting for Arda Guler to bulk up, maybe he wants to try him in midfield for a few games. He has that magic and composure in him.
@@Chip_Fuse Totally agree with you on Arda, he has the quality, just needs further development and game time
First half atalanta looked really good intense man marking then to be fair its pretty hard to shut down Vini Jr so he set up Valverde's first goal. Then i think Bellingham then Mbappe it was such a good game. Madrid will dominate this year unless Flick causes an upset you never know 😂
you do know unles you re deluded....barcelona ain t doing shit
“You never know” yeah Ight, like madrid didn’t win La liga, UCL, and supercopa without mbappe
Feels like southgate should be taking some notes to facilitate his next job hunt😂
I noticed the Rudiger's inverter role during the game and has been looking for explaination since on twitter and on youtube but nobody talked about it...thankyou for highlighting this very tactical tweak
Think we're looking at yet another CL win for Madrid😔
Possibly even a treble, because this team is just too stacked.

They need a kroos replacement fast, someone to give accurate long balls for our 3 fast attackers
Kroos is missed here
When the Bellingham-Vini-Mbappe trio really starts carburating and going full throttle is going to be absolutely insane, yesterday was just a taste with all 3 still warming up for the season and still left a good taste.
New tactics this football season the goalkeepers will be slotting in defense and defenders in for goalkeepers, midfielders becoming top scorers 😂😂😂😂
Individual quality is the answer
Nope...before Ancelotti came Real had the quality but where in dire straights after Ronaldo left with 3 managers before Carlo falling to balance the ship including Zidane despite of the wealth of talent under his disposal until Carlo came and fixed everything
@@mmjnr10 What are you talking about Zidane won 3 ucls in a row.
Trust me it wasn't his managerial ability that got it done, they simply have the best players.
Adding to this when Mbappe , Vini and Rodrigo link up they make their runs and passes so quick that it’s hard for an average defender to react in time. It’s also will be a gamble to try stop one and cover when you know the speed that they can get out and in the box is just terrifying. Ofc it’ll take time to perfect it but once they do they have the potential to be one of the greatest trios and we can’t forget we have Bellingham and Val as well when needed they can also change the game all by themselves.
I wanna see Madrid more fluid and much quicker at distributing the ball around, so they won't give their markers extra time to correctly read the passes.
That way, the players won't have to rely on spectacular individual movements everytime. Better the quick bursts of simpler passes and movements than one big gamble of trying spectacular move from individuals.
Wonderful analysis. I love how people underate Carletto making him more successful
i think we need some one touch quick creativity from the middle in the form of modric or arda guler so we will see less of vini, mbappe and rodrygo trio specially in the big matches.
I think it’s safe to say Ancelotti’s tactic only works for a small squad size of elite players like what Madrid have. I mean if a manager of bloated and big squad size like Chelsea using the same tactic it will be a complete suicide 😅
It seems like despite whatever tactics they use, Chelsea managers are already under suicide watch. Chelsea managers don't get the support from the board, they're just waterboarded with all these average players that they didn't ask for and are supposed to finish top 4 and win trophies with. Safe to say Ancelotti wouldn't waste his time and expertise under this Chelsea board.
Absolutely, but Carlos is especially good at identifying the best way to use his players. No need for extremely complex tactical systems if you have a front 3 of Mbappe, vini and rodrygo with Bellingham behind them, and Valverde covering the entire pitch.
I could a see a double striker up front with mbappe and rodrygo as strikers and vini can drop a little in a left mid type of player of some sort
One of the most successful, adaptive, and flexible manager all time!
You lost me at "underrated tactical powers", Ancelotti is the Nr 1 tactician, he actually knows about tactics not just passing the ball around 😂
Bro changed the picture and did Carlo and Pep dirty 😅😂
Each player's individual quality and fluidity of the front three are crucial for the current Real Madrid game style.
still waiting for your videos man.
As you said, it's true that we have serious defensive issues when caught on break with opponents good with transitions. How does Ancelotti hope to solve this - the Mallorca game should provide insights hopefully for our gaffer.
Don Carlo transformed Everton team of average players at his spell there so he's truly the best
The level of Athleticism in this Real Madrid XI is absolutely insane.
4 night club bouncers: Courtois (200cm), Rudiger (190cm) - Militao (186cm), Tchouameni (187cm)
4 stamina monsters: Valverde, Bellingham, Mendy, Carvajal
3 elite sprinters: Mbappé, Vinicius, Rodrygo
😂
Vini is a stamina monster as well
Pep - Attacking Football
Mourinho - Defending Football
Ancelotti is what you get combining both
Kroos was sorely missed. Bellingham could drop deeper to help RM keep possession in the middle.
It's a shame that there was never a duel between Carlo Ancelotti's Madrid and Jupp Heynckes' Bayern. I would have loved to see that clash.
Ancelotti lined up regular first team for this season, perhaps arda, brahim and camanvinga would be substitutes.
As the season progresses i predict Rodrygo will be benched for Brahim or even Arda
Will have trouble with low blocks but a menace against offensive teams
Finally have been waiting and checking your channel for the tactical review of Madrid new tactics with mbappe❤❤
442 for real madrid brings all their key components into play. It allows jude and rodrygo to act as progressive carriers during transitions as the wide men while allowing mbappe and vinicius to remain high up to finish off counters.
Since Kross left, Using GK long pass smartly skip the backcourt short pass system, especially Alalanta like man to man D.
Rodrygo& Mendy did well on fighting for the ball, open the door to score.
Defence is the best offence here, see how long they can keep.
Only 2 CB are available, Alaba still on recovery.
B5 & V8 are important in CM, lots of b2b tasks.
The midfield is going to be so weak if jude and valverde get injured, we need so many midfielders to do the same job toni kroos had done for a decade. Toni Kroos was the reason why we never had to worry about deep posssiesion and allowed the rest to focus on the attack. Without him, players like gavi can cook our midfield. All it takes is a team that sacrifices the wings to focus on the center of the pitch. Lucklily we have so many attackers that we can probably score a lot of goals, Jude is easily our main player. He looks like he's going to be the backbone of the attack, help the defense, ball progression and much more. And Valverde HAS to step up, he now wears the no.8 and he has to show for it.
Honestly, to be fair, you could say that to any team if their main midfielders are injured. I personally would give them some time because it's literally the first real match of the season and everyone is still trying to figure out each other. This is the first time they played without Kroos or Modric, I believe they'll eventually sort it out.
I love the way you read the game man!
fantastic work of you!! you just got one more sub! keep up
I can just imagine the whole front three floating to one side like they did with Vini and Rodrygo against City last season. With Mbappe now, that would probably be even more devastating
Waiting eagerly for the clasico. As a madrid fan i hope hansi flick finds the right balance so that we could see a competitive clasico
Ancelotti is master and given freedom youre player to show their talent like vinicius, belligham, mbappe and rogrigo for belived individual brillient🔥🔥
Losing Toni Kroos in midfield will disrupt the balance in both the offensive and defensive phases. The team will depend on quick vertical play and less on possession due to the loss of fluidity. But that's an approach that is well suited to the athleticism and pace of Vini, Mbappe, Rodrigo, Jude and Valverde. Deep into the season, they;ll have found their rhythm and begin destroying. Can't wait to see them in the Champions League.
Just quality of players and their willingness to go forward to attack and also join the defense
Against teams that play possession based style like Barcelona, we will need an extra midfielder. Hopefully ceballos can step up.
I doubt theres a thing Pep can teach Ancelotti. 🤣🤣 He's the absolute GOAT. Pep is good but no way near the success of old man Carlo.
It will be pure joy to see Ancelotti making all that quality come to life
the only potential downfall is if they get thin on the midfield or if Bellingham, Mbappe, Vini's ego collide. I fear Bellingham not gonna like that he will not score many goals. He is not gonna be the superstar.
Hi and welcome to Football Made Simple.
Real are dangerous
why is carlo bold on the thumbnail
We’ve been begging for a tactical analysis on Luis Enrique’s PSG
RM relies on wait and expect the high quality of his strikers to solve the match.
They might go undefeated this season in Spain and even complete the table. There are no weaknesses in this team and have the depth as well.
Excellent analysis.
I think guler can make big impacts in this Real Madrid team..the space seen in the 10 position can be utilised to its max by Guler.. he could take long rangers from there
Winning UCL with Striker Like Josule explained the Genius side of Ancelotti
This year will probably be OK, but next year there will be fire
Thats a masterclass
can we say that with confidence that Carlo's tactics worked because of one instance that resulted the second goal? Courtois never found a teammate with his long balls. looked like a desperate attempt instead to avoid losing the ball in dangerous places because of Atalanta's pressing. Game shifted to Madrid's favour when the italians became tired
As a Madrid fan i just subscribed, you know ball my guy
So Ancelotti spread their legs open with pace 😂
Very good tactical analysis
Please 🙏 make sure your analysis is a green board with players numbers to be in different colours.
Im pretty certain that Madrid are going to playing with a very well known formation and that is the 4-3-3 with Vini at the left side and Rodrygo on the right wirh the Big man Mbappe in the centre.Bellingham will be playing a more central role as a offensive midfielder and Madrid can choose from dozens of excellent players for the midfield but i would probably play Valverde with Camavinga in central midfield. As far as the defence is concerned i think they will just play Rüdiger alongside Militao and have Mendy and Carvajal as full backs.Real Madrids setup, players.depth and managing skills make them formidable and i dont think many teams will be able to stop them.
Ancelotti tactic abilties are underestimated
I think that what messed up Atalanta so bad that they insisted on ground building up as you forgot to mention that Madrid's attacking were also high pressuring on the defense line and maybe Atalanta are considered to be one of the best teams in building up but they compared to Madrid they lack the individual quality if you noticed the 2 goals that they received were because a mistake they have committed while building up
How is ancelotti this underrated after being such a incredible manager over multiple decades now
great video. better than the athletic
Great video man 👍🏻
This is a personnel thing, they've got quality in every position
If Tchou doesn’t step up his game to fill Kroos shoes, it wont be long before he’s gone. He needs to understand that he isnt a cb. He needs a massive development like what Vini went through and what Mendy did last year.
He’s a CDM, not regista
Tchou is good and solid as a classic anchor DM, Kroos role is not his job, it's Valverde who holds the No.8, he's still trying to figure it out on the pitch. Give him some time it's literally the first match of the season for him. I believe he could do it, if not we'll eventually play in a different way.
Will be an interesting season !!
I want real to get a promising center back tbh someone who can put in the work for the club
