Love's Easy Tears is absolutely killer.

If this is the Kilburn gig, i was right up front, completely mesmerised by this angelic vision singing before me. She was very nervous I remember, kept pulling at her fingers in a kind of anxiety. I came away feeling blessed that I'd witnessed something very very special. I was mid-twenties at the time but I knew even then that this was one of my life's sweetest moments....

It is a complete nonsense to say that her voice is too weak for a live environment. I saw them in Liverpool on this tour and she played the whole concert from start to finish with unfaltering perfection.

I believe Dif Juz were the support act for that gig and they also gave an amazing performance. I have the recording for that and been looking for the CT one for a while. Great set list too for this era.

I still have this bootleg cd I've been into the twins since I was 85-86 saw them in the states in 90' and again 94' then saw Robin Guthrie on his luminere' tour and got to meet him before his set and he was just so humble and got to thank him for the soundtrack of my life I am so blessed

Lovely version of Lazy Calm, with the Dif Juz saxophonist playing...It's beautiful. I wish I'd seen them this early, the first time I saw them was 1990 (and again in 94).... brilliant both times 💜

Ahh! That sax is revelatory. I remember buying Love's Easy Tears and since it didn't say to play it at 33 or 45, I played it both ways. I was floored. Not only, was I already obsessed with their music, I would sit there shocked that a band would consciously think of making an album that was beautiful at both speeds. Mind-blowing. Now, I'm not so convinced that they intended this, but then again I wouldn't put past them. Anyway, I actually love the 33 version of Tears. It's not just Liz with a male voice, but it sounds more tragic. If you wanted to imagine a possible male vocal in front of Simon and Robin, you might check it out, and it might satisfy that curiosity.

Victorialand isn't merely the best Cocteau Twins album. In my opinion, it's one of my top ten favorite albums of all time. One of my desert island discs. I've been collecting records since the early 60s. I'll tell you a funny story about this album: when I first bought it, I played it at 33 1/3 on my turntable and thoroughly enjoyed it! Then I read in Rolling Stone that they recorded it at 45 rpm for better fidelity. Wow! what a difference! To get this gem of a show is a rare treat.

They band played three London shows on this 1986 tour. Two dates at the Town & Country Club on the 16th and 17th November and one at the Kilburn National Ballroom on the 18th of November. The recording uploaded here that you are listening to is from the Kilburn show. Interestingly, a lot of the pauses between the songs and the general audience chatter has been removed from the original audience recording making this a slightly abridged version, but much improved in sound quality and all the songs are complete. A lovingly restored show, well done CocteauBuff, this is a superb remaster. One to "Treasure" no less!

One of the cleanest works of art in restoration and production I've heard, this is so sound perfect that it captures every nuance it seems CocteauBuff. The texture of the band behind Liz's vocals are balanced and paced, allowing her to capture live on this occasion a very close semblance to the sound of the studio and album. No one could doubt her talent after hearing this recording session before an enraptured audience!
Of special note is the reprise/encore of Sugar Hiccup at the end, she is ending the set and seems to have really relaxed, which is when she was at her best performing. It must be a challenge to preserve the vocal cords when singing across several octaves, which she does beautifully.

I saw them at the Town and Country Club, Kentish Town, London around this time ... is this that gig? They certainly opened with Lazy Calm and I remember Elizabeth thanking Richard (Dif Juz). Uh, that's never going to happen. They briefly talked about getting together a few years ago for a show at Coachella but Liz backed out (as is her option) saying it was too much for her to go back there. They are amazing and, like the Knife, will live on in our hearts, our heads and our ears.

Although they have many great albums after this time period , this is (in my opinion) the Cocteau Twins at the height of their powers. The music and singing sounds just as good as on the studio albums and there's no weird experimentation by Liz Fraser on the vocalizing like in the later years live shows.

i loved the epherial and beautiful melodic stuff made by prog bands like Yes Floyd Genesis Tan.Dream etc but they're 80s' conversion to pop ( Floyd politics) drove me to "indie" & in hearing " Treasure" then Head Over Heels then Victorialand, my ears and mind were at least more than compensated. How on earth that a nation which has given the world so many famous musical acts hasn't in general., heard of the CC. I despise all brainwash but endevour to get their sound into my 17yr daughters conciousness and maybe spread it. Thankyou uploader for re producing this works of pure beauty - love from the swanky new forest

It's surprising it would be on the "Love's Easy Tears" tour because they play just 2 tracks out of it (out on 4 !!!).
Where are "Those Eyes, That Mouth" and "Orange Appled", two of their best songs ever and peaks of their E.P. ????

Elizabeth Fraser's Slideshow, Remasters c/o Robin Guthrie & Raymonde Love's Easy Tears. SIMON signifies a new clear chemistry amongst three. Cocteau Twins breaks on through the digital "darklands" beginning 1986 promptly inspired by DISCoveries since Lorelei¿?⁉
