    Carrot Corner is the best kept poker semi-secret on TH-cam. I've never watched a video and not learned something. This was a critical video to get me to rethink how often I'm folding to c-bets on the flop. Thank you Pete!

    Pete, my good man, can you have a word with your buddy Easty; he's still using a randomizer, even at 10NL!
    It's heartbreaking to see.

      Easty is a perfect example of the "gto mindset" holding someone back in poker. Worries about being to high up in range to fold when certain ppl are never bluffing .. worries about balance and mixing when theres clearly one best option .. will make torching plays in real life because "solver does it sometimes" etc..

    the 9424 board displays a diamond on screen but the solver shows a club it makes it look like we should fold a flush too a big bet on the turn

    This might be a super noob question, but why don't the KJ of clubs and KJ of diamonds have the same equity in the second example? (about the 17 minute mark). Same question for KJ of spades vs KJ of hearts...

    • @ColliePoker-re4sx
      @ColliePoker-re4sx 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I think it was the video-editing equivalent of a typo and the 4 does not bring a diamond flush draw. KdJd is a strong hand on the 4 of diamonds. So, I think just editor mistake.
      With the correct turn card represented (brick 4), why is KsJs playing differently than KdJd? Because backdoor flushdraws affect both player's ranges. While the diamonds have bricked, it changes the hands that get there for both players, the hands that IP will barrel with, and blocker properties
      EDIT: yeah, you can see the 4 of spades up in his PIO solver

    i prolly need coaching. this is great and all, but i get intimidated by how many types of spots and leaks there are, i went trough grade 1 many times, maybe its there and i cant see it. dunno. i guess im a visual person, i would need a giant college board, where i would see it all from above. preflop, flop, turn, river, concepts and somehow try to put it all together.

    • @whereismymind1

      i guess my question is Pete, how to study and not get lost and scared when i come back to play. and also there is this gut feeling, that if i knew what to drill, i wouldn´t sleep for a week.

    I dont use PIO solver so maybe I'm getting this wrong - but are we saying that the opp is cbetting 18% pot? I'm going to assume if it's 25% pot instead, we should be defending ever so slightly less? I don't see many (or maybe any) players sizing this small. It's 25-33% pretty consistently. Does that move the goalposts much?

    • @daviusminimus9602
      @daviusminimus9602 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Oop sorry just heard Pete say "they're betting 1/3rd pot". What is that 18 referring to?!

    • @instinct14
      @instinct14 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@daviusminimus9602 18 is the amount of chips that is bet when betting 1/3 of the pot. BBvsBU 2.5BB open, so 5 (SB) + 25 +25 =55 preflop chips, betting 1/3 makes 18 rounded.

      @@daviusminimus9602 18 chips to a pot of 55

    • @moistflops6283
      @moistflops6283 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      its representing chips, using 1000 as start stacks too represent 100bbs. for accuracy i belive? i could be wrong. so the pot size on the flop of 55 i think represents 5.5bb so the 18 would represent 1.8bb into a 5.5bb pot. it hurts my brain too think that way so im not 100% tho someone else could deffonately explain it better then me. pete does go on too explain it in the hand you just have too extrapolate what hes saying too figure it out if you dont already know. (appologies if im wrong about this, im not a pio wizard)

      We all felt like that at many times during the way. This feeling is normal! Otherwise it wouldn't be called a grind and 95% of players wouldn't be loosing money for us. Always remember there is some one that faced the same feelings as you and gave up and you can do better.
