0:46 that bend, pre bend release shows that this amp is valve like. Amazing and great reviewer, showing us blues players that the blues cube, is a true blues amp. The fact that I looked at only valve amps, this video and many others made me purchase one. Great video 👍🏼

You've got the BB King vibroto at the beginning of the video. Nice.
    Good demo.

just proves that tone is in the fingers and not the amp! Great playing dude!

Been playing guitar for over 30 years. More of a rhythm / lead singer type, but super fussy about tone. Brought my Vibrolux in for some repair and ended up trading even for a used Blues Cube Stage. Less than half the weight and as you can hear 100% tube sound. So glad to be done with all the temperamental BS of a tube amp. Not to mention having to lug around what feels like a baby grand piano to every gig. The smaller size of the Cube Stage makes it look like a practice amp, but the 60 watt power rating will correct that concern for you right off the bat. This thing will take your head off if you want it to and unlike a tube amp you can great great tones at low volume! I'm ONLY using these amps from here on out! Thanks Roland!

Finally I feel like I've actually heard this new version put to the test - sounds like it has a bit o' soul and the honk is in the right place. Thanks!!

Been thinking about getting one. I'd love to hear it with no reverb and well isolated close mic-ing because that's how I record.

i know this is older post... but... i just recently got a les paul (always been a strat guy) AND just recently got a blues cube Hot and also a blues cube stage - first got the hot and then after about a month thought i should get the stage for the little extra wattage but of course they sound just ever so slightly different from each other and i like them both so... i will just keep em. Anyway - so cool to see someone else rockin out my exact current favorite rig - i really do love it. I've got quite a few guitars and amps but this is the exact setup im into right nowadays. Curious if you have gigged it this way and how that went? Also - it seems you are just going directly into the amp w no pedals, yes? I have been mostly just doing that but also been using a few basics (Keeley compressor, TS 808 and a wampler clarksdale delta. Anyway - just love your playing! Now Im gonna have to sit down and learn a few of yer trix :)
Most impressive is your vibrato - gorgeous - inspires me to work on mine for sure - thnx for this post - oh and curious of course - do you still go with this setup often?

WHY did the first one sound awful in your opinion?
Manufacturing differences? Different guitar? Speaker not worn in???

great blues playing tinny sounding amp... notice these cube amp demos never use a really good vintage amp like a plexi or tweed fender in great shape, its always compared to a cheap tube amp.

+Jon Jon That is, to a tube amp of comparable price, yes.

+Jon Jon It's probably more to do with the recording of the amp and / or of the playback setup you are using. I have the artist version and its got plenty of grunt and does not sound tinny. Then you also have to remember that the Blues Cubes are a budget amp. I mean you can pay upwards of $500 each just for El34 tubes let alone the more exotic types. Sure a tube amp can sound better but it can also sound like complete shit on any given day as well. This is because the characteristics of power, pre and rectifier tubes change over their life cycle. Sometimes the change is for the better, most of the time you end up swapping tubes, changing caps .. and so on to get the sound you :think" you previously had. Then there is coupling issues that are inherent in valve amp designs and..... you end up spending more time on maintaining the gear rather than actually playing. Great if you can afford the time and effort but for most of us solid state is a hell of a lot easier with a more reliable sound.

@@tdunster2011 I have the Stage version myself and it's no where near tinny sounding at all like here. That may have more to do with wooden floors and and open playing area? Mine is on a carpeted floor in a not so open room and it's grunty to be honest. Plenty of low end sound.
