    • @michaelmao6180
      @michaelmao6180 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@MuhammadKharismawan No, they're not THAT similar, but K712 and K7xx are definitely better choices than SHP9500. Those SHP9500 have terrible bass, and I would not say it's a cheaper version of 800s. The K7 series sounds flat and somewhat uninteresting compared to the 800s, sure, cos that's the AKG sound. If you're really looking for similar sound signatures, you should look at headphones from the same company. However, 800 series is fairly unique and nothing else in Senn's line sounds quite like it.

    I got the HD660S through Sennheiser's sound club since it was the cheapest immediate option at $20 for the first month, so I'm a bit spoiled but I might just have to get the HD58X as a gift for someone since everyone loves my HD660S. Also since sound club ended I got it half off essentially since I still had a year left to pay it off (they let you keep them since it was a beta test essentially). I'd really like to see more companies do stuff like this because it would allow me to scratch my new headphone itch easier.

    for someons wanting to get in audiophiling (?):

    Any suggestions are welcome!

    • @catinabox2670
      @catinabox2670 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Might be a bit late but here are my thoughts:
      Both are great headphones for it's price, it mostly depends on your preferences and setup, the 58x is easier to drive if you don't have a amp and have better bass than the 6xx. On the other hand, 6xx is tuned really balanced with more details and vocals. Go for the 6xx if you are planning to get a amp.
      For the dac+amp, I suggest to by them separately if it's your first amp/dac, the schiit stack (modi+magni) is a great combo and you could swap the amp more easily to try a different one (jds lab atoms, bravo tube are all decent options for starters)
      Hope this helps :)

      @@Arome909 Well along with the Sundara I have a few more planars, LCD-2C, Sendy Aiva, and an old HE-400i. If you're talking price performance ratio you can't beat the Sundara imo. The Aiva is a great planar also but it's much more in your face and bright compared to the others. I say go for the Sundara because it's a great all arounder that can hold its own versus much more expensive headphones.

    I'm using a THX 789 and SMSL SU-8 balanced.
    AKG K712s would have maybe been a good alternative to a HD 800. (Even if I haven't heard the HD 800 I've seen them compared and the price difference is pretty large)
    Also IMO the HD 660 S noticably provides more detail than the HD 58X. It's noticable with the right music although tonally the HD 58X can be more fun due to their lower end kick they provide in more bass heavy music. The HD 58X is a good alternative to the HD 660 S but the HD 660 S noticably provides more detail if you compare the two side by side.. most people won't notice till you A/B though certainly.
