I'm new! In my first 5 days dashing I've made over $500. I'm happy.
I make a lot more money with the hourly pay in my market of Tulsa, OK.
Sometimes you have to pay your dues to get ahead. Take those bad offers because the good ones are coming. That's my experience.
But what I love the most about dashing... Are the smiles on people's faces when I bring them something yummy.
Serve your customers well and you will find great joy!

I'm in a smaller town of like 18K people in the extremely north part of Wyoming. Everything is completely different in this market, and It's been hard to try and explain to newer dasher's what they need to be requiring for orders. See way to many of them ranting on social media about no-tippers and such. I hate to say it, but I'm awaiting for Tax Time to hit and make the majority of these newer dashers quit. I've already went to a W2 job for my primary income, was disappointed that gig work has had the decline it has in my market. I will still do doordash and Walmart Sparks in some of my down time, but it is nothing like it used to be. Thanks for all the video's Pedro, It helped me become the independent contractor I am today.

    Another good tip.
Despite what a lot of gig tubers like to tell you, there's nothing wrong with going back to W2 work. If you've tried everything you can think of, and it's just not hitting in your market, stop throwing good time after bad.

The issue with my location is Distance to and back to the hot zones.. I have a lot of rural deliveries, therefore I always take that travel back to the area I want to be in. I do try my best to get to an area that will possibly get me an order on the way back but that is not always a guarantee. So your example of the 19 for 11 miles, I will take that. However the only time I will ever take the 3.00 is if im trying to keep my acceptance rate up.. This is a side job for me so the Dash anytime is important due to the fact that I only have certain times to do it. As usual Pedro, you are completely on point and its nice to see someone else in the same headspace. Keep up the good work sir.

I agree with you and I like your tips thank you. I appreciate it. The one that kills me. The most is when you say don’t take a high-paying order that leaves you in the middle of nowhere. I completely understand that but in my market sometimes you have to do that yes it sucks completely, but you know what for example say it was $21 +7.8 miles and it left me out in the middle of nowhere I’m still taking that order because it still makes money no matter what happens I’m up $21 plus then when I was before my car gets very good gas mileage and I have a new car cars are meant to be driven so that one it’s give or take to be honest just like you said every markets different

I’ve been working more dinner and 3rd shift lately. Nothing else to do that late at night anyways so might as well make some money and it suits my lifestyle. I exercise in the morning, eat and sleep and then out the house by 5pm when it gets busy. There’s not much of a breakfast or dinner rush in my market anymore. Instacart has been popping off lately though for me.

I live in the middle of no where on a market line where i have to drive to the east or west "city" to see the market pop up. It's awful. But there was this snow storm yesterday and the dash turned every order into a +$5 delivery. Generally our orders are all over are over 15 miles and under 6 dollars. Dash by hour is now available but i live on the state line where it pays 15 a hour or 7.50 depending on if i go left or right 5 miles.

Thanks for the tips. I actually don't have a car, working on passing my driver's license so I can eventually get a car. I've been considering doing Doordash/Instacart/UberEats on the side with a full time job. I'm in the city (Massachusetts) so there are things like rush hours (I've seen this either riding Uber to work or getting on the train). My main goal is to save up extra so I can go into University and get my Master's in CS (if they approve me/allow me in since I have a non-tech degree).

Sometimes i well take the $3 for a mile if it is an addon to a good order i already have. These for me will often be like $12 for 3 miles for example. Or if i just dropped off a good paying order and one comes in for $3 and the pick up and delivery are close to where i am at that makes me happy. It doesn't happen all of the time but its nice to make a $6 order turn into 9 bucks for very low driving

Only thing i have issues with is with other drivers at pickup locations 99% of them are rude and act as if i just stole their girlfriend or ran over their dog. thanks for the videos, your help us newbies out!!

Just remember: You arn in the Honeymoon Phase with them right now. In two months the honey moon it will be over and you will see what other drivers are complaining about. The newer drivers will start getting higher pay priority since you will no longer be like a new spouse to them etc. Then you will either take sorry paying orders to keep your top status or find out like many of us that the only way to really make a profit(which should be your goal) is to cherry pick and multi-app! This ain't a charity, Don't let them abuse you!

I can dash from my home and get orders 2-3 minutes away, I live in a semi-decent zone.... this particular area has little to no traffic lights, 90% of drop offs are within 5 minutes... such a golden area those are the areas people need to look for imo

    I just started December 27th, and my market is Philadelphia. Specifically, NE Philly… what I’ve learned;
    -distance matters most
    -peak pay is crucial
    -$2 per mile is necessary
-anything over 5 miles requires $3 per mile (5 miles = 15 minutes one way)
-people don’t tip or tip well
I’m still testing out different hours, day, and different zones. I recently had my best day in a new zone, but it was 6 hours of $3 peak pay

Hi I just moved in Huntingdon Valley which is right outside of NE Philly and I am having horrible luck out here. The Bryn Athyn zone is not good, the NE philly zone isnt good. Jenkintown isnt as good as I thought it would be. The Bensalem zone is somewhat better than the other ones. The tips in all of these zones are crappy compared to the zone I came from. I used to live in the Ft Washington/Horsham zone and it was so much better in that zone. I am still sometimes driving out to that zone to make money but its a bit of a drive so I am using miles driving to and from there. I think I may try the pay per hour in the Bryn Athyn zone today and see how that goes for me

@@mickeyc2137 hours definitely matter, I found between 6-9am & 5-8pm to be the best times. Also, 11pm-2am is very busy but the pay is typically low because you’ll get horrible tips

Im in Zanesville Ohio. About 40 minutes east of Columbus. We are 25k people. Lots of rural deliveries. Tons of $2-$4 for 12-14 miles. Good runs here are $4-$5 for 1 to 2 miles. Almost no catering. Lots of shopping, but no money there.
