I agree 100%. The entire idea is horrible and ultimately makes the company that supplies the platform a huge chunk of money. They rip off the drivers, and have pretty much everyone that works on the other end of the spectrum (the restaurant and grocery workers) do more work to prepare these orders as on the menus it allows for ridiculous customization of sandwiches etc that a person wouldn't think to order in a drive thru or in person. So the workers spend more time making these orders as some get ridiculous. I work at a 7/11 and we have to literally shop the orders for the drivers and watch them reap all the benefits from it while no increase in our pay for extra duties. So from that aspect I hate drivers and think they should get a real job that doesn't take advantage of others extra work. The whole point is that the system is terribly flawed and creates animosity between drivers and jobs. I literally make a point to speak my mind to every driver that comes in my store.

I feel like I spend more time sitting around waiting on DD to send me something. Uber eats keeps me moving and if they have an offer that's horrible and being declined, they will continue to raise the base pay and send it back out to you.
I far prefer it and for the DD customers that I do get to speak with, I tell them that Uber eats takes better care of it's contracted drivers. I also tell them not to use the priority delivery on DD because it doesn't truly exist and I tell them if they plan on tipping big and want their driver to see all of it, they should tip just enough to get the order picked up and give the remainder in cash when the driver shows up. I just don't trust DD to be fully transparent at all.🤷

It’s wild how much the platform has worsened. I have had an 80-70% AR in 2023, able to make good money with just DoorDash. With that same acceptance rate, it now is paying less per delivery than UE and IC in 2024. At this point, I only turn the app on when I’m parked and waiting for orders, when I haven’t already gotten an order on the other apps, and pausing it every time I’m driving. There’s an opportunity cost just turning the app on now. I’m closer to getting into ride-share than I’ve ever been before.

@@bertolucasfilms "full time" drivers tend to understand the app better. we knew how to make money on the platform by being more selective. what doordash wants are honeymooners. these are new drivers who take everything because they get a larger share of better orders. after the honeymoon they get a larger share of trash orders. lets say half of your orders are 8-10 bucks, you're much more willing to take the lower paying offers because you're making money. but once the honeymoon ends and you're not making the money you're less willing to take those trash orders and you stop doing doordash. there are far more regular drivers than honeymooners. say there are 100 drivers in your area, 10-20 of them are honeymooners and are getting all the good orders. 80-90 are long term drivers. doordash doesnt care that you're not making money, they are going to milk drivers as much as they can until they quit. they have very low overhead on drivers. base pay is 2 dollars and they're probably making 15 dollars an order. there is no pressure on DD to give a larger share of the money to drivers when they can just hire another driver when they get burned out. thats probably why he's saying that DD doesnt want full time drivers, they want the revolving door of new drivers who just take order until they go broke and get sick of it. make no mistake, you WILL go broke driving for doordash, its just a matter of time. how long will you continue to take trash orders after your honeymoon until you realize theres too many drivers for the share of decent orders. this is why drivers are always complaining about either low base pay or low tip. DD does NOTHING to help the driver. they dont incentivize the customers to give higher ratings (customers only rate when there is a problem, thus low ratings), they dont inform the customers on the actual role of the drivers (bags are sealed but drivers get low rating when items are missing), they dont do enough to promote better tipping from the customers (imform the customer about high milage or fair tipping practices). DD doesnt give the ability for drivers to rate customers (rudeness, no lights on at house, dogs, lack of response etc) most customers order doordash and never look at their phone again, they dont add tips. all year, ive had 1, 1 single customer add a couple bucks after delivery, and in 4 months ive made $15 dollars in cash tips $10 of that from one customer. 90% of my customers never even respond or look at messages or have hand it to me and never show up at the door adding 5 more minutes to the delivery and i have to stand outside the door like a creepy stalker waiting on that 5 minute timer. If DD allowed drivers to rate customers, and customers had to pay more when they have low ratings then shit would change real fast. sadly, DD wants new drivers and high volume of low quality. remember, DD makes the same amount of money regardless if the customer tips. they just want volume. they simply do not care if customers tip. long winded, but there;s your answer.

I use to use other apps as fill in apps when DD was slow. Now DD is the filler when Spark is slow. After a year I come to terms that they do not care about drivers. They want folks to deliver at the lowest possible price. I’m just so over DD n their games.

Company opens, offers drivers insane rates to draw them in, while offering lower prices for the customer. Then after they have you hooked, they slowly back off on paying you while also charging the customer more. Meaning the customer has less money to give you for your service then they would if you would worked for just papa johns.
