Whatta catch! 🏈! Remembering the catch, you and your happy spirit. Also need to mention 2 honorable players who are at the top of my list of favorite, NFL players: Joe Montana and Jerry Rice. I am over here in the East, but my fave NFL team will always be the 49ers. Just recently learned about Dwight’s illness. You guys will be friends forever. 😇
I moved to the Bay Area in 81, the year they won their first Super Bowl. For that year and the next 15 years I had more fun watching pro football than I will ever have again. It was truly memorable.
I love both Dwight and Joe! And I'm a BENGALS fan, and remember quite well when they beat us in the Super! But the 49ers were my favorite team in the NFC.
Joe Cool Montana, the 49ers 24K magic mesmerized us all with his smooth precision QB skills. That throw. His golden arm. And there's that catch. It was beautiful, its like i fell in love with the game. Dwight Clark always had me on the edge of my seat. As a kid i always watched football with my dad. In high school I didn't even like football but here comes Joe Smooth drafted to the 49ers and together they played the greatest memorable game in nfl history.
Wish I could have played Football with Joe and Dwight in the 80s what a decade for Niners. Best Football Games I have ever watched the Players and Coaches were Steller
your wrong! forget about the catch! the only play that mattered and was important was eric wright horse collaring drew pearson! WE WUZ ROBBED DREW PEARSON WAS HORSE COLLARD!!!!
@@Fernando-R controversy surrounds many legends. Tom is going to go down as the greatest QB of his era and will always be the conversation of greatest of all time QBs whether you are a fan or not. His legacy will be criticized and disregarded by some; lauded and praised by others, but for me he is already a bigger legend than Montana could ever hope to be.
@@Fernando-R While Montana doesn't have near than type of controversy surrounding him like Brady does, my previous comment didn't state this. I am arguing that his career accomplishments have been surpassed by Brady. Tom has proven to be a more successful QB and put up better post season performances than Joe ever did. Brady has been the big game 9 times to Joes 4, won six rings, and been apart of countless legendary wins that required him to showcase a clutch/toughness factor in late game situations that far exceeded whatever Joe was required to do. Tom playing with all the distractions over the years from 2007, 2014, and now in 2019 about his age and possible retirement as arguably makes him better than Montana because he has proven to be able to overcome it all and remain an amazingly positive leader for his teammates and a role model for his fans. Brady has the longevity, the career accomplishments, the records, and the praise of all who have worked with him (both former and current) and he is doing it in the salary cap era where dynasties are much more difficult to form long term. Bottom line, Tom has proven more and done more with less than Montana did in his career. I am unabashedly a patriots fan and I love what Brady has done for Boston. I hope he retires with New England and they give him a statue and a part in ownership if he wants it. He deserves it.
why is joe montana and dwight clark and talking about the catch! the only person that should be up there is Eric wright and the only play that should be talked about is Eric wrights Horse collar tackle of Drew pearson!!!

It was nice to see these two guys together again years after they retired. They were a tandem in the early 80s. RIP Dwight!
