I just has a set of these Chinese 42lb injectors come through. These new ones ran ok up to 100psi. But, the flow varied quite a bit from injector to injector. Most were right around average. But, some were low by nearly 15%. And the "flyers" tended to be low. So, if you use a wideband to tune the average to 12.0AFR under load... the lean "flyer" cylinder will be 14.1AFR ! ! ! Do NOT use them without flow testing !
To be fair, the injector won't lock up under boost on an actual engine because it will see that increase in pressure at the injector tip too. You only increased fuel pressure in your test. The differential pressure is what is important. That said, I still wouldn't cheap out and buy knockoff injectors, too risky for an expensive engine. Thanks for the video!
I have a set of mostplus injectors for my 87 ranger and they perform amazingly... stock injectors only net me around 16mpg. I put these chinese injectors on my truck and it idles way smoother, I don’t smell gas anymore and my mpg went up significantly.. before i was lucky to get 16mpg on the highway, now I’m getting 22mpg on average and better throttle response..

I am about to buy some injectors for my Ford E-150 and have been debating whether or not to grab a set from the salvage yard (U-pull) or buy one of the sets from ebay. The ones I am looking at on ebay claim to be Delphi and are about half the price of the injectors at the big auto parts stores. After seeing your video I am leaning toward the used U-Pull set over the ebay sets. Thanks for the great video/info.
I got a set of eight for $40-50 on ebay and they have the insignia and accurate part # molded into the body, but they also have the double ring on top. At the same time I ordered another set of "Genuine Bosch 42lb injectors" from a reputable performance website @ $250 for 4 to compare, and the same exact injectors with two rings on top showed up. Same insignia, same part # molded in. Pretty confused now.
They both fake brother, Bosch NEVER made a 2 slot injector EVER, The fake market is so big they have even gotten into the industry so even ur local parts store could have fake stuff
I use 4 china injectors with SN stamped on them so not the same lot as tested here, but they work fine and without cutting out at 5 bar (70psi) on my turbo engine.
How do they work under normal conditions. It sounds like the machine is running at a high RPM setting (10000 or 12000 rpm) when you were showing it cutting out. GM multecs do the same thing at higher pressures but they work well in the LT1's at 3 bar.
Great video, the ebay cheap chinese knock offs should be illegal to sell, as they're a hazard and will most certainly cause issues with your car. Not recommended for any application

What is the proper # for these injectors... look like 42lbs... The failure at 102lbs is not important, you would not expect to have them perform in that range anyway. Nevertheless can't beat proper engineering for the long haul. Although a bit of plastic molding simple electronics and gaskets, you would think they could be knocked off perfectly.
Tell you what. Genuine Bosch is crazily expensive, even the chinese knockoff is a fucking rip off. You would think a bloody tube, a solenoid, a metal valve, a metal plate with several holes, and a filter basket. Come on, it will probably cost less than a dollar to make the whole thing.
just bought 8 delphi fuel injectors for our 2001 ford expedition and of course there made in china but still one way to tell its a cheap knock off is too read the product name it can say Delphi FJ100093 but i saw exact clones of them an 8 pack for only $190 but i got 8 delphi injectors for $620 the description on the 8 pack said fuel injectors replacement for ford triton 4.6 5.4 and 6.8 engines no brand name its not that all made in china is and its just some knock off products of course dont have quality control testing they just get as cheap as possible make them and pack em while in other plants they make them test them then pack them
For 620 dollars they better be made by the president of Bosh himself,there is a way to buy good brand name injectors out there,you have to shop around,find someone on eBay that bought a new quality set and wrecked his car,someone that needs quick cash etc. I will never pay more that 200 for a new set and they will be brand name, Ive done this many times,injectors are way overrated,its ancient technology (for the times we live in) i see people selling a individual injector on eBay sometimes for 130 dollars,thats just crazy.

As a mechanic and car enthusiast I would never use or recommend cheap knock off injectors to run with boost but this video I would have to say is sorta biased ? at normal psi operating it appeared normal and 70 psi is way above normal ... I would have like to have seen flow test done at 60 and 65 psi just to see if reliability is decent at those levels for the idiot proof build for a cheap bastard that also cut ever other corner on his build so sketchy injectors would be right up their alley. just for information purposes because i have seen whole sets of these knock off injectors 42lb going for half the price of 1 single bosch injector and that is even including shipping and handling and tax.. whole set of 8 for $40 when a single bosch is around $60 give or take .. me personally I will pay the bosch price and have trouble free service for life of the car .

The key thing for getting sharp video or still images is properly lighting the subject, this is true 9 years ago and it's true today.

70 psi is way more pressure than my stock trans am is rated for, if I'm not mistaken it runs well at 43

Yeah, these are 42lb injectors @ 3bar fuel. They can flow up to I believe 530cc with 4bar Fuel pressure regulator
