Actually there have been balls clocked faster than 120mph off the bats. There have been high school games with balls coming off bats at 120mph but those are also composite bats and there was a big push to make them illegal because of how fast a ball could come off of them.

I think there's only been 2 or 3 of those in MLB history. Also, they say that the ball comes off the bat at 120 mph. According to hittrackeronline and MLB statcast, that has only been done 2 times in the last 3 seasons. They just pull numbers out of their ass, which makes me question all the shit they say that I can't fact check.
The .45 seconds(450 milliseconds) is for a 90 MPH fastball. The .395 seconds(395 milliseconds) is for a 95 mph fastball. Look it up and learn the time and velocity systems before you belittle a great show

the hardest hit ball (128 mph) was a 4-6-3 double play. They where talking about little league in that episode, and this one is about mlb. And yes this show has no idea what the fuck they are talking about

This show uses faulty numbers is all.

a better comparison would be the time a signal is sent from an earth station to a satellite (free space of 1/2 a second) and is received by another earth station (another 1/2 second). from pitcher to batter (1/2 second) to third baseman (another 1/2 second). the curious part is how when we observe a pitch that is delivered, then hit and finally caught by a third baseman, it seems a little more than one second has elapsed.

@IamAlastair well actually the maximum amount of time a test match will last is 30 hours spread over 5 days. Its kind of like watching two baseball games a day for a week, easily managed...ODI's are done in 6 hours and T20s are done in under one baseball match. Baseball is awesome but cricket is amazing! :D
Cool video but the third base is called hot corner because there are more RHB than there are LHB and many of the shots from RHB goes to third base when they pull the ball. Still the hardest position to play though. Ball usually screaming fast, miss and it's a 2B, plus have to throw across the diamond to get the runner. #respect

yeah didnt mean the DH part, but as for the .300, i was referring to average, instead of OBP, because if your average is .300+ every year, you are an all-star, and that can only mean your OBP is even higher than your average, because...well logic.

no not really.... Dustin's Pedroias' avg. line drives are 116.5 mph and that's from a 1 of the smallest who plays the game i think hes 5''8 or 5''7 or maybe 5''6 i cant remember but he is along those three

@philliesgurl26 well , i came to the usa on a holiday for about a month and experienced fair amount of baseball be played. obviously i didn't master the game but got a decent amount of idea about it. i am aware of balls curving sliding dropping etc i wauld be fascinate by this if i had not watched a cricket ball spinning, i am not trying to prove any sport greater, and i was cool with baseball until some of the yanks commented negatively and attacked many of the cricket videos.......

its been proven that the hardest basic step of any sports is hitting a baseball. basic meaning, you need to hit a baseball to play baseball (besides the exceptional pitcher and DH of the AL). hall of famers fail 7 times out of 10 and are considered the best players in the world. Athleticism is your eyes means how fast a player can run, or how strong they are (qualities of football, which im guessing you support more) arent what we should hold players to athleticism. athletes are skilled players.
This is a little misleading! the average ball that comes off the bats probably only about 90-105 MPH and when ur actually in the field ur adredaline slows everything down! but u still have little time for mistake on a CLEAN linedrive!
120 is an average for power hitter idk bout cricket but baseball bat speed can reach 135 and this had to be filmed at least 3years ago he hasnt even played with the diamondbacks since 2010 and he was a great defender he won a gold glove at third in 09
Data from both HITf/x and TrackMan show that it is very, very rare for the ball to leave the bat at a speed as high as 120 mph. Such a ball hit at a 30 deg launch angle would travel about 500 ft in the air. VERY RARE. At whatever speed it leaves the bat, it loses about 15% of that speed between home plate and 3B. Sorry, guys, but these are facts.

From an old first baseman....we don't have a picnic either. Left handed hitters have more of a tendency to hit down the line than rightys.

its been proven that the hardest basic step of any sports is hitting a baseball. basic meaning, you need to hit a baseball to play baseball (besides the exceptional pitcher and DH of the AL). hall of famers fail 7 times out of 10 and are considered the best players in the world. Athleticism is your eyes means how fast a player can run, or how strong they are (qualities of football, which im guessing you support more) arent what we should hold players to athleticism. athletes are skilled players.

This is a little misleading! the average ball that comes off the bats probably only about 90-105 MPH and when ur actually in the field ur adredaline slows everything down! but u still have little time for mistake on a CLEAN linedrive!
120 is an average for power hitter idk bout cricket but baseball bat speed can reach 135 and this had to be filmed at least 3years ago he hasnt even played with the diamondbacks since 2010 and he was a great defender he won a gold glove at third in 09
Data from both HITf/x and TrackMan show that it is very, very rare for the ball to leave the bat at a speed as high as 120 mph. Such a ball hit at a 30 deg launch angle would travel about 500 ft in the air. VERY RARE. At whatever speed it leaves the bat, it loses about 15% of that speed between home plate and 3B. Sorry, guys, but these are facts.

Are the other infield positions any different? Particularly first base as it is just as close.
Less baseballs are hit to first but yes all infield spots are very challenging

I play twilight baseball these days. I'm actually pretty damn good relatively. How that's relevant I don't know, but you thought it was, so I thought I'd tell you. Anyways... yea, Reynolds did a nice job at 1st this year. But DAMN he sucked at 3rd

I'd argue with you, but if you can't see it there's nothing I can say to convince you it's there. Of course it doesn't take athleticism to wait around for your turn to field or hit. But when it is your turn, well, like I say, if you don't see it, you don't see it.
