Fire, danger, beer, bugs, and ice cream. This video has everything. I*may* have said, "Norm sure knows his way about a campfire cuz Canadian." Stunning scenery and the usual epic camerawork, thanks Norm 😊
I‘ve never been camping, but camping in Japan seems very nice, such a chill video :) The stick bug was kinda my highlight...i love it LOL Also rip Norm, walking into spiderwebs is the worst!
Thanks for putting this video out there. After watching the anime "Yuru Camp" I wanted to see IRL japanese camping. It's exactly as it seems in the Anime. More of a reason to try it one day. Keep up the good work Norm :D
Great video, Norm. Camping in Japan is definitely on a future agenda, and this, like so many of your other videos, is very helpful. And I got to see bits of Gunma. 👍
Loved this one Norm and I'm super jealous. The camping sites looked great, especially the first one (beer, ice cream and a great view over the water). That's awesome about the smores! my lady friend is new to Canada and she had never tried them before either so I introduced her to them this past summer too 😁🤣 Thanks for sharing as always sir
A little late to the video this time around, but that was a super treacherous looking road at the beginning. Sleeping near water is a great way to get some pretty rapid temperature drops, not to mention fog and condensation. I really liked the creek and stream shots. Then again, got a soft spot for creeks.
Miss going camping at times and as mentioned, with all the craziness of 2020, it's probably a nice, welcomed change with everything. I remember the joys and tribulations of camping during various seasons. With hot, humid summer days/nights, it comes usually comes to ventilation for tents. Also helps to get a small camping fan to help when things get really muggy and/or cost isn't an issue. Still looks like camping in Japan would be fun.
I’ve never camped somewhere like this and it really looks like such an experience. Seems like a fun trip all around for you both (with the exception of the bugs and that terrifying death road).
Whoa, I've never camped before, but despite the unpleasing conditions sometimes, camping seems so amazing! I mean, those views are STUNNING, and love the atmosphere~ Thank you for sharing!
Didn't you guys get a cold from all those night temperature changes? I know how it feels to sleep in a hot and then cold humid tent it's not nice 😱 but it's worth those beautiful landscapes
Taiki has a great sense of humor. 'Do we have a plan to meet a bear?' Lol. Deadpan. 'This is how I go shopping in Tokyo.' Is it just me? I think his delivery is so funny.
1:08 When I was a kid I was traveling with my mom on a road like this, towing a 30 foot long trailer, in the middle of the night, when suddenly all the power went out in the car. It could still drive but no headlights. There was actually another car in front of us and we could just follow their tail lights.
All the campsites are beautiful. I think I'd go for the one with ice cream and beer. BBQ too? It's been years since I've camped in a tent. I usually do the huts, especially if the weather is supposed to be rainy. I don't have the patience to dry out all my gear and with a mold allergy :( ... Hey, at least the road had one side hillside and the other was sheer drop-off. When I went leaf peeping on Monday, the road dropped off at 90 degrees on both sides of the car, and was only wide enough for one car. Laughing so hard at the Smurfs - they sure are tasty though ;) - and shopping with the gear cart.
This is one of those things I really like.. camping! Wow.. great place you gone into. Hopefully more of it on your next vlog👍 and make it a longer one 😊
Norm, I commend you for thinking outside box and taking the time to be one with nature. Looking forward to more videos & hopefully see victor for some scenic photography.
Once all of this craziness is over, it'd be cool to see a reenactment of this trip at the best season for the site (it is after all, storm season now there). Man, those gorgeous sight lines. Hopefully you at least got some good stargazing time. Nothing like clear mountain air to make the night sky pop out and make you slightly regret living in the city with all its light pollution
I discovered your videos pretty recently and all I can say is that you are living the life brother. I wish I'd had a companion like you to go on adventures and discover the world, especially in Japan to which I've been only to Tokyo for two weeks. I wish you all the best and keep bringing the HD content with the amazing editing and all, you are gonna get famous down the road and I will proudly say I followed you since 130.000 subs :) Edit: When I get the chance I'll support you on patreon
Did a reasonable amount of camping when I was young. These days not at all. If I were to go camping again, I'd either camp out in a vehicle (van or decent sized SUV) or get one of the quick setup tents.
Can't beat the great outdoors. Camping always seems fun, but often in hindsight. At the time it's just arghhhh... bugs, dirt, mess and claustrophobia. Love it though. Is there anything Japan doesn't have? It's just beautiful, top to bottom. Thanks Norm.
@@TokyoLens it looks stunning, its nice to see you enjoying life, in the UK its raining and cold so its nice to escape through your videos ❤. Shooping you're merch atm

Wow the prices for the campsites blew me away, it's soo cheap! Gotta chalk up camping on my Japan bucket list! Thanks for the awesome content Norm, がんばって!😄👍
So, for i think the first time I watched one of Norm's videos cast to a big tv rather than on my phone. I can handle the bouncy stuff better on my phone, tbh, but the big vistas were fabulous on the tv screen. Some fun but subtle visual effects in this this too.
Ah, the joys of living in a tent. I've spent more nights wide awake and shivering because of a sudden temperature drop after a rain...brrr! Looks like beautiful scenery though.
Whether you're adventuring in the city or the countryside, it's always awesome to see what you find. 👌 Take it all in. That's the best thing about adventuring. Oh man, I just went camping a couple weeks ago and had the same thing, hot humid day turned cold night and everything was soaking wet even inside the tent. Luckily I was trying this new thing where I put the tent on a slight incline and all the water in the tent pooled at the corners below our feet so we only get somewhat wet instead of completely soaked.
